Kinzinger jumps from the frying pan into the fire!
Disappointed that fellow RINO Adam Kinzinger is speaking Thursday 08-22-24 to the Democrats at their convention — the same night as Kamala Harris. But who(m) are (the royal) we to exact loyalty oaths?
There will be those who accuse me of betrayal, who see this as a repudiation of conservatism. But I see it as a defense of conservatism, of the true conservative values that prioritize the common good over personal power. — Adam Kinzinger
We understand his antipathy toward Trump but former congressman Kinzinger is going over to the other side. It’s like a conscientious objector joining the Wehrmacht. The equivalent of anti-war protestors backing Hamas — which is what many of Mark Pocan’s people are doing in Chicago this week. It’s a sin of commission, not omission.

The Republican nominee could win and maybe even would deserve to win if he would just admit he lost his last election and that he fueled the assault on Congress that January. If he honored the Constitution above cheap gas. He might win if he took Nikki Haley’s advice and quit attacking fellow Republicans like Brian Kemp, stopped the juvenile name calling, showed just a trace of self-restraint instead of the verbal logorrhea that would have exhausted Fidel Castro. But then, he wouldn’t be Donald Trump.

An unaligned nation
Our druthers (and we have many!) is that Adam Kinzinger, the most prominent of five Republicans speaking in Chicago this week would follow Erick Erickson’s advice and give neither aid nor comfort to either party’s nominees.
Kamala/Walz, after all, stands for packing and term-limiting the supreme court, statehood for D.C., wage & price controls, open borders, a weaponized Department of Justice, DEI, Green New Deals, 24/7 abortion, dead birds in wind mills, second-guessing Israel, and more free stuff. Democrats countenanced their own stolen election lies; remember Stacey Abrams in Georgia?
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Unlike many totalitarian states, voting is optional in the land of the free. None of the Above is an honored option. Sitting on one’s hands is often the best course of (in)action. As professor Milton Friedman should have said, we’re free not to choose.

“But then, he wouldn’t be Donald Trump.”
Exactly.
Kinzinger is quite the odd duck. Highly emotional how the hell was he ever a conservative in the first place?
Yay hope and change! Maybe it’ll work this time with an imbecile at the helm?
Quid pro quo? There’s little question that despicable Lefty is TRÈS CHAFED that Mega-Babe Tulsi “Believe All Women” Gabbard not only b!tchslapped Kacklin’ Kamala outta the 2020 race, but subsequently jumped ship AND continues to strafe ’em regularly, dead center, and with aplomb.
The Gotch
So you’re saying that Harris/Walz (helping indirectly by not voting for Trump) is the lesser of two evils than Trump himself? I couldn’t disagree more. If they win and progressive lunacy continues, I will be able to look myself in the mirror. Will you, knowing you helped bring it to be?
Dead on, Kooter. Anyone conservative who sits this election out is tacitly casting a vote for all of the bad policies we disagree with that will result from a Harris/Walz election. I was a Haley supporter, and will be following her urging to support Trump in November.
Kooter,
Voters aren’t in the race, candidates are. I “think” I know what you’re trying to say but what you actually wrote simply isn’t logical.
Oops, that posted in the wrong spot.
When I’ve advocated for “None of the Above” in the past I been told by Republicans that that’s a vote for Democrats and told by Democrats that that’s a vote for Republicans. Personally I think it’s a vote for “I Do Not Approve Of Any Of You Political Hacks” Personally, I want something better from politicians and I’m willing to stand up and say so, Here’s What “I” Expect From Politicians.
What say you, whoever “you” may be?
Well. I believe there is no “black and white, perfect candidate” in our grey world. It seems the “none of the above” folks look for perfection or simply walk away. But will still complain when “their side” loses, forgetting the role they played in that loss.
I don’t think anyone is looking for or expecting perfection, I think they just don’t want crap! There has to be some kind of middle ground.
But taking yourself out of the race eliminates the chance of common ground
“Taking yourself out of the race”?
What the heck are you talking about?
Kooter might be referring to not voting. Lots of citizens make that choice.
That doesn’t make sense to me; voters aren’t in the race, candidates are.
I’ll let Kooter explain it.
Really? By not voting you’re taking yourself out of the race; a non-participant.
We must have posted at the same second.
I agree with you, Kooter. Democracy is not a spectator sport.
Kooter,
Voters aren’t in the race, candidates are.
