Wearers of tinfoil chapeaus are convinced the Deep State hired a 20-year-old kid from the next town over to take out the last President before he could become the next President but (somehow) did not let the boy finish the job. The downstairs help at Stately Blaska Manor wonders whether Joe Biden really does have Covid or is it an excuse to repeat his rope-a-dope strategy from four years ago by laying low in his Delaware basement?
On MSNBC Wednesday night 07-17-24 the excitable Joy Reid dashed past sycophancy to full-on political prostitution.
Joe Biden recovering from COVID-19 (if he really does have it) would be the “exact same thing,” Joy pontificated, as Donald Trump, bloodied, raising a fist and shouting “Fight fight fight!” The Exact Same Thing! Joy waxed indignant that the Secret Service “allowed” Trump to raise his fist. The others on set with Ms. Reid, one assumes, are trained to avoid eye rolls, lest their amusement be caught on camera.
The MSNBC commentariat explained away the video of the Covid-ridden President not wearing a face mask when he exited his limousine. Their fretful audience was assured that the sufferer “probably” would observe medical protocol once ensconced on Air Force One.
If the bullet had missed completely, Butler PA would be just another crime story.
But drew just enough blood to supercharge a now-mythical candidacy..

Over on CNN, Jonah Goldberg noted the absence of stolen election incantations so far at the Big Show in Milwaukee. Probably because, for once, Republicans are actually looking forward to the next election instead of litigating the last one!
Didn’t stop the RNC from featuring Matt Gaetz Wednesday and a very unrepentant Peter Navarro — the latter released from stir that very morning for snubbing a subpoena from Liz Cheney’s committee. Actually uttered “Friggin’ Democrats!” We want to see THAT on the Teleprompter. At least they were expended early in the evening’s schedule. (Matt Gaetz, to us, looks like Jack Nicholson chopping through that door in The Shining. RIP Wendy Torrance.)
Maybe these two sideshow freaks were programmed as chum for the Mike Gableman/Janel Brandtjen/Pillow Man groundlings. Nor do we see how J.D. Vance helps the ticket in Wisconsin, a state with which we are somewhat familiar. Trump already has the blue collar/farm vote. Trump underperformed down-ticket Republicans in the critical WOW counties around Milwaukee last time around. (Republicans ran those elections.) Tim Scott might have been Just The Ticket! Hillbilly Elegies won’t persuade the ladies who lunch in River Hills and Elm Grove.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Way things are going for Democrats, Joe Biden gets off his sickbed only when Donald Trump raises his hand and commands, “Arise, Lazarus!”
Blaska could vote this ticket if The Donald would abjure Election Denial and admit he didn’t do enough to stop January 6. Joe Biden will win the Madison Ironman triathlon first. Do not put it past Democrats to chuck Biden/Harris for an electable ticket, like that astronaut in Arizona, Whatshisname.

There is no way any Democrat is going to elbow Kamala aside and snatch the nomination from the first black woman to lead a national party. I say they are stuck with Harris, no matter what else happens. It’s her turn.
He is the 1st millenial candidate on the executive branch ballot. He will definitely help sway people. I do not expect him sway the dane county communists or joy behar embedded lipstick liberals. The only way he does that is if he has a D behind his name.
We get it you will not vote for Trump. the gop party cannot go back to the sellouts of the past that melted in the face of marxist media and demparty onslaught. You want middle of the road again, well Trumps many accomplishments were far more middle road than the past neocons agenda to sellout america to a foreign nations highest bidder. Vance knows what it is like to be on both sides of many issues, and he knows how to set goals and to remain steadfast against the odds to accomplish those goals. I relate to him far more than i do with Trump. He is way better than stick in the mud Pence. Whom never really seemed to bridge the age gap that Vance hopefully will.

Up until yesterday, I’ve been confident that unconvicted felon Joe Biden would be at the top of the ballot for the demparty this November. Then the virtual roll call for Mr. Biden was pushed back by the DNC into August, giving the bosses aligned against him another week to convince grandpa to hand over the keys. Now he has COVID. Joe struggles to be coherent and cognizant when he’s well. If he gets more subdued and confused with the china virus, the elite may just have him sign the delegate release papers by telling him it’s just some stuff to extend the warranty on his car.
I still believe Joe will be the nominee, but I feel like a Wisconsinite watching late in the fourth quarter of a Packers/Seattle game with the Packers holding a small lead.
As for which Trump speaks tonight, what does it matter? For the record though, I’ll guess the more Alan Alda-y one.

It’s a few more than 4 by now. You need to add the Obamas, The Clintons and 2/3 of the Democrat Party. In fact, at this point there are more Republicans than Democrats who don’t want him gone, and with good reason. As miserable a candidate as Harris appears to be, she has a better shot at winning than Biden does. And that goes for ANYBODY else they can put up there. Word is Obama had a come to Jesus talk with Joe yesterday, and he now understands that he’s driving the bus into the ditch. Monday would be the logical timing after they prepare the landing zone over the weekend. If they were smart (they’re not,) they’d throw it open at the convention and see who can take out Kamala in a cage fight. But they’ll probably just hand it to her and hope for the best.
Rumors on X say they will NOT hand it to Kamala, hence the need to “unblack” her.

In another thread, I joked about a conspiracy that Biden will suddenly succumb to Covid allowing DEI-Harris to take the nomination while saving face all the way around. I’m beginning to think it’s not that far fetched. Not voting for Trump is a vote for Biden (or whomever) and a continuation of disastrous progressive policies. You may not like Trump the man, but the greater good is at stake.
