Rebecca Kleefisch should challenge Tammy Baldwin!
This dues-paying Republican in name only says thank you, Ben Wikler for showing your hand so early in the game!
Wikler is the Madison-based chairman of the Wisconsin Democrat(ic) Party. He’s riding a winning streak that began in 2020 when Joe Biden captured Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes from The Donald. (Trump LOST dammit!) Wikler’s Democrats re-elected charisma-deprived Tony Evers as governor and flipped the state supreme court to a 4 – 3 liberal majority by electing Janet (spell it with me) Protasiewicz on a pro-abortion, partisan-Democrat platform.
Which takes us to Tammy Baldwin. The lady is running for her third term in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Baldwin leaves few footprints in the Senate but does great constituent work and takes in laundry. In 2018 won 17 of the counties Donald Trump HAD won two years earlier. Very personable — in person.
Republicans could have elected Rebecca Kleefisch as the first female governor but would-be kingmakers over-played their hand.

Taking a pass
Which may be why the top tier candidates like U.S. Reps. Mike Gallagher and Tom Tiffany are taking a pass. Republicans now sit with two announced candidates, both complete non-entities. Two more are making noises like candidates. (Resembles quacking, to our ears.) Former Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke rings the bell for MAGA election deniers who believe Joe Biden is the mastermind behind a global child smuggling ring.
The other possible candidate is Eric Hovde — photogenic, vigorous, principled, and rich as Croesus. Banker and property developer. Has a home on Lake Mendota AND another, which he bought for $7 million five years ago, in Laguna Beach, California. Therein lies the problem. According to Daniel Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Hovde was named one of the most influential people in …. Orange County CA.
Which is why Ben Winkler’s Democrat(ic) party was circling Hovde’s building just off Capitol Square on W. Washington Ave. Wednesday 09-20-23 with a message board truck tweaking Hovde’s California connections.

Sound familiar? Democrats brought the same rap against our most recent candidate for governor, Tim Michels — that he is a fat cat carpetbagger. (How the Left hates wealth when it is not their own!) Tammy’s Democrats ran the same play against Tommy Thompson in 2012 — that he had lost touch with Wisconsin by sitting on the boards of white-shoe, east-coast law firms after his stint as U.S. Secretary of Health. Tommy Thompson, who is more Wisconsin than cheese curds!
It’s unfair — no one kvetched when Hillary Clinton and Bobby Kennedy moved to New York to become senators. We say again: Nothing Fair About Politics!
Blaska’s Bottom Line: We like Eric Hovde. But consider Becky Kleefisch! Moxie. Scrappy. She’s got spunk. (We happen to like spunk.) Female candidate against female incumbent. Beaucoup name I.D. Lots of buyers’ remorse after would-be Republican kingmakers engineered Tim Michels into the governor’s race against her. Rebecca Kleefisch is DUE!
Is Ben Wikler right about Eric Hovde?
Is Blaska right about Becky Kleefisch?

Still haven’t heard a satisfactory explanation (or any explanation at all, really) why Tommy “more Wisconsin than cheese curds!” Thompson threw his hat in with Michels.
Anyone…anyone…Bueller…?
The Gotch
“great constituent work” isn’t that what we want?
Blaska reports the facts, whether they’re partisan or not. Haven’t you noticed?
I have noticed and I still believe we want the same thing from our senators.
Sen. Baldwin is almost as bland as Kohl. Within her first year as a senator, she sucked up to Monsanto. I would bet money she doesn’t eat GMO food. Most recently, she joined every other Democrat to support the clown prince Zelenskyy and the military-industrial complex.
DINO
Was Winston Churchill a clown? Charles Martel at Poitiers? Joan d’Arc? General “Chinese” Gordon at Khartoum? You can argue that we’re committing too much treasure to Ukraine, but the one thing Volodymyr Zelensky is NOT, is a clown.
Your comparisons are as hilarious as not-a-clown Zelensky:

He most certainly is not a crook:

And he most definitely didn’t make a national hero out of someone responsible for the death of 100,000 Poles in WWII:

Celebration of WWII Nazis is not limited to the Kyiv gov’t. Here’s the Canadian parliament giving a standing ovation to Yaroslav Hunka, former 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, for ‘fighting against the Soviet Union in WWII’. That would be the same Soviet Union that lost 27 Million of their people fighting against the Nazis.
I go with you on this, Dave. Just the name Tammy Baldwin — like some oldie but goodie. Time for a change. But does the party even listen to you? I should think they would. And I don’t even always agree with you – only mostly.
Lots of talk about Baldwin. How about telling us why you all want Becky.
Becky, the noted homophobe?
My wife and I would vote for Becky.
