‘Peacefully and patriotically!’
"If you go after me, I'm coming after you!” — Donald Trump 08-04-23.
There’s a social media keyboard warrior named N.c. Gillette who says Blaska is cruisin’ for a bruisin’ for denying the MAGA truth that Donald Trump is the duly elected, peaceful & patriotic President of the United States.

N.c. Gillette never deigns to prove his assertions. Doesn’t bother with evidence or argument. Why should he? One by one, they explode in Trumper faces like gag cigars. (2000 Mules, debunked.) Instead, he follows the mode d’emploi of his hero: attack, accuse, and fabricate. Mr. Gillette seasons his execrations with a spattering of barnyard expletives, thereby exposing his short fuse and limited vocabulary.
We suspect Mr. Gillette may be suffering from the shell shock of the failed January 6 (2011) insurrection. He misspells my name as “Blaskasshole.” (So clever!) This weekend my adversary issued this challenge (turn up the volume):
“You f*** ing know I’ve been calling you out for 2 years and you’ve crawled away. … I’m ready to go, Turd — one on one on a neutral site and I don’t need any of the studs I hang with to take out the garbage.”
What could he mean by that?
Mr. Gillette first proposed a golf course midway between Madison and his redoubt in Milwaukee, unaware that said course is owned and operated by extended family. Having been informed of that unfortunate coincidence, the sputtering populist now proposes to meet and beat at the Broadlands golf course in North Prairie at 10 a.m. on Friday 08-11-23. Seems kind of far to drive for a few contusions. I can get those at home! (Maybe I’ll play nine.) N.c. Gillette closes his challenge with this exhortation:
“One on one, ya freaking Punk.”

Set the meeting
Get our informers to find out where it’s gonna be held. Now, we insist it’s a public place — a bar, a restaurant — some place where there’s people so I feel safe. He’s gonna search me when I first meet him, right, so I can’t have a weapon on me then. But if Clemenza can figure a way to have someone planted there for me — a TV newsman or a lawyer — then I’ll have a witness. Better add an EMT, maybe a priest. Call my insurance agent. Notify next of kin.
Blaska’s Bottom Line would like to think Mr. Gillette has in mind a scholarly debate but this doesn’t sound like William F. Buckley v. John Kenneth Galbraith. (And what’s up with capitalizing “Punk”?) Besides, how does one debate someone who believes January 6 was an AARP guided bus tour and that Mike Pence should be hanged for treason?

Should this “event” become a reality, where can I purchase a ticket?

Um, have you alerted law enforcement? When I worked at a newspaper, the subject of one of my articles kept calling the paper with such charming phrases as “pigs get slaughtered.” A friendly call from the sheriff’s department got him to cease and desist.
There certainly is a spectrum of Trump supporters.
Wasn’t R Lesiak looking for a fight last year? (Alcohol may have been involved). Tell the militia guy if he wants a fight go to Nigs in the Dells on any Friday night and announce:
“I am here to chew bubble gum and kick liberal ass and I am all out of bubble gum”
It’s what they both want. Why not facilitate it?
Not an insurrection.

You got that response from me after the insulting post about me being a product of a single parent home. My mother did the best she could after my father died. Your comment was uncalled for and insulting to her memory. You love to run your mouth and then play the victim.
🙂 Gotch was on this blog fantasizing about / threatening to beat me up earlier this year as well.
Ending our 2 party system would go a long way to diffusing this anger we see in our country’s political extremists. Everyone could find a suitable political party for themselves and not need to share a tent with wackos. Ranked choice voting is the best path I know of so far to get to that end.
“Gotch was on this blog fantasizing about / threatening to beat me up earlier this year as well.”
BULL$#!T, Rollie.
Post the link, or waddle your over-sized @$$ back and issue an appropriately groveling and contrite apology for this egregious breach of a fact-based Reality!
The Gotch
I’m not retired (I work for a living) so I don’t have time today to scroll through pages of comments. You clearly have the time, so go ahead and find it for all of us. Or scrub the record and send it down the memory hole.
Be honest with yourself. You were taking about your brother or something, made a statement about beating me up, and I replied that it was very on-brand for a conservative to respond to a difference in opinion with violence.
Regardless, your specialty is in the pre-violence propaganda phase. Your role appears to be instilling a dehumanization of your political opponents through your frequent posts about “lefties”. This is an important role to the movement, because it’s so much harder to inflict violence on people one views as human – the party has to cast the opponents as less-than-human in order for the violence to be acceptable. It also, like Trump, keeps the propagandist’s hands clean. The point is to set the table and let things go from there.
No Rollie that’s on you, as it would be on me if RL objected to my memory of him looking for a fight.
Thank goodness for the digital search feature. Us working people don’t have as much time for this as not-working folks. Here I am eating lunch and chatting with goofballs when I should be relaxing.

“The Gotch forwarded your slobbering to his gay activist sibling, who (heh!) suggested that your…um…contribution to the cause, along with those of the similarly…er… helpful Dylan Mulvaney, Rose Montoya, et al, should to be dutifully pounded…with grit/concreting sand….but only if crushed stone is unavailable.
The Gotch”
In this instance, Gotch uses the very popular technique wherein one rhetorically frames the suggestion as something (heh!) “people are saying”. Trump really likes this technique too. Here, it’s not Gotch saying it, of course not. It’s “his sibling” who wants to see me pounded, Gotch is just innocently reporting this fact 🙂 Is Gotch advocating for me and others to get pounded, or is he “just” repeating and amplifying words that call for me and others to be pounded? Is there a substantive difference in outcome or effect? No. But is a fitting technique of cowards who want a chance to slip away from any personal responsibility for their speech. After all, if Gotch disagreed with his sibling, this would have been the place to say so. But a coward does not stand up to bullies, especially not the bully inside their own mind.
So Gotch didn’t say what you claimed.
(INSERT MENTAL GYMNASTICS)
Gotch said whatever I want him to have said!
Nice trick.
Is Gotch advocating for me and others to get pounded, or is he ‘just’ repeating and amplifying words that call for me and others to be pounded?
Sheesh! A leap of faith over a bridge too far; please tell us the benighted that you’re being intentionally obtuse. If not, little hope remains.
“your…um…contribution to the cause” was your inane slobbering…not you yourself.
And you yourself weren’t the intended object of the pounding, that would be sundry coarse materiel (sic) listed, sorted according to desirability, with their ultimate destination being that over-sized @$$ of yours.
It’s a euphemism, or nuanced rhetorical flourish which, to no one’s surprise, didn’t register.
The point (which you couldn’t have missed by a wider margin) was that even someone ostensibly on your side observed that your blathering prattle was not only breathtakingly idiotic, but ruinously counter-productive.
And Coward? That word and The Gotch have never collided in any meaningfully accurate sentence; if our paths someday cross, that would be confirmed.

The Gotch sure does.
He’s the gosh darn reincarnation of John Brown, with a splash of Harriet Tubman, and a Heapin’ Helpin’ of suffocating White Lefty Guilt…and Full-o-$#!T like a Christmas Goose!
The Gotch
You guys are fun. Insert mental gymnastics indeed! So you’re saying that it was my words or my political viewpoint that needed to be pounded with rocks, not my body? That’s a good one. I often pound thoughts with physical objects, doesn’t everyone? There’s certainly no historical precedent for unorthodox thinkers being pelted with stones until they die. Might as well say any violent fantasy is actually a metaphor…. That’s just about the position the modern American Right is landing on, so you guys are in good company. Lots of historical movements started that way.
Be honest with yourselves. There really are a lot of cowards around here: own up to your thoughts, emotions, and written word. For instance, I call Gotch a coward because they don’t own up to what they write. Even in the reply, they dance around what they’d do if our paths crossed. That’s cowardly. Just go ahead and say what you’d do. Only a coward implies what they’d do instead of being direct.
Secondly, Gotch, what is it about the post you referenced to that causes you to assert that I’m lying?
That’s exactly the kind of blustery rhetoric I would expect from a former Battalion Commander at U.S. Marine Corps. (I privately wonder, what Battalion?) Moving on. They, like many of my old Army buddies, seem to think their fists are an acceptable response to differing opinions, think their rhetoric makes everyone cower in fear and everyone outside their bubble is a POG; however, when in the world outside their bubble their rhetoric makes them sound like ignorant violent fools that can’t support their own rhetoric.
Here is my comment directly to N.C. Bill Gillette, I know you’re likely reading…
People like David Blaska and I who might adamantly disagree with you on some things are not your enemy that needs to beat down to a bloody pulp (if you can), they’re your fellow patriots that will likely climb down in a foxhole right next to you and defend this nation to the very end if necessary. Don’t do things to turn your fellow patriots into your enemy, that’s an illogical self-defeating behavior.
Your rhetoric towards a civilian that has a differing opinion regarding President Trump is considered nothing short of belligerent BS and openly threatening. That might go over well when you were spouting your sweet nothings in the ears of Marines in formation, but in the civilian world it’s unacceptable behavior. Think more about what you’re writing instead of blindly reacting like this…
https://stevewitherspoonhome.files.wordpress.com/2022/09/bloody-keyboard.gif
If physical violence is your only recourse to differing opinions then the problem is in you.
Take this as the constructive criticism that it was intended to be.
Thank you for your years of service.
After engaging with Gillette on his Facebook page I felt inclined to blog about this from a different perspective.
Toxic Political Rhetoric!
David Blaska asked “Where should Blaska meet N.c.? Or should he?”
You shouldn’t meet him and Gillette should cease and desist his harassment.
I think he’s trying to play you. When you show up, he’ll be standing next to his bag full of clubs with a quizzical look on his face because you’re not carrying a bag.
“What did you think I meant?”
Shoot out on the 19th hole?
Why else does he keep picking golf courses?
And why wouldn’t he insist on one of THESE…?

Is this a joke? If not, N.c. is crazy or he doesn’t like Trump and
trying to make him look really bad having supporters like him.
Of course you are not going to meet with someone as mentally disturbed
as N.c.
db
It’s pretty clear that you have never communicated with many, or any, military personnel, specifically Marines. Using words like crazy and mentally disturbed to describe this kind of blustery rhetoric from people that spent a good portion of their lives in the military is not very helpful.
I call them like I see them. For N.c, to threaten you for disagreeing
with him is sick! I do believe that Trump has the right to think he won,
even if I believe he is wrong. No one has the right to threaten others.
Why feed trolls, or should that be trolt?
Resorting to political violence with someone you disagree with? Sounds like the far left to me. mostly people, left or right, that can’t make it in a civilized world. ~Bob
I’ve seen plenty of recent stories about the left, especially the woke, eating their own, although the media largely suppresses them. No need to sink to their level. Be better.
