Which is why we get a good guffaw out of that column in the Sunday New York Times Magazine, “The Ethicist” written by a certified Black Man and practicing progressive. The enterprise is a popular salt lick for guilty White (we capitalize it) liberals seeking to expunge their unearned privilege and sprinkle themselves with some of that holy victim dust. Today’s installment is a real laff riot; a self-flagellating penitent wails:

Why, oh why?! (Lamentations of the Overly Woke 10:30(1)) Name Withheld writes:
Forms of all kinds often ask for a person’s race. I strongly support affirmative action for historically disadvantaged groups. … I’m fair-skinned and have an Anglicized last name … I can easily ‘pass’ as white … It’s more of a moral question for me. I don’t identify as white.
(How about identifying as stupid?) The proprietor of “The Ethicist” starts out his exegesis with the Old Testament story of Jacob and Esau. Thereupon, Kwame Anthony Appiah natters on (and on and on) with a graduate-level Grievance Studies lecture because progressives love the sound of their own morality. They can never get to the point. But Blaska Policy Werkes (like the Candy Man) can!
The answer, Name Withheld, is simplicity itself: Abolish all forms asking race! What business is it of government? And what is “race,” anyway?

To inform government policy? Does Oprah Winfrey need reparations? Is there a Black way of learning and a White way? (However did Dr. Ben Carson learn to use a scalpel?) If we abolished all those boxes, would Yale still be able to discriminate against Asian students?
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Here at the Werkes, we believe Science Is Real and the capital of Israel is Jerusalem. And that identity politics is killing the idea of e pluribus unum.

You have to watch when on the beltline, because someone without a license plate on their vehicle will ride your bumper, jump in emergency lane to pass, cut you off while doing 80 to 90 mph. They do not care about life or limb. And, be very careful when your light turns green, look both ways because they are exempt from stopping for the red lights.

David, you are 100% correct in your statement. Race should never be a part of the discussion. It is character and competence that matter more than anything. When the _hit really hits the fan, you want someone that is really competent to take control and fix the problem.
Let’s put it this way: Do you really care who is flying the airplane when it suffers a mechanical breakdown and you go into a tailspin at 38,000 feet and are headed to earth at great speed? Do you care if it is man or a woman; a black, white or brown person flying the plane?
None of that makes a bit of difference at that point.
The only thing, and I do mean the only thing you care about at that point, is whether or not you will smashed into pieces, or you will walk away when the plane comes into contact with the ground.
As my father used to say: Any landing is a good landing, as long as you can walk away from it.

I no longer own guns, but it’s because I don’t sport shoot, or hunt these days. I’m all for home-defense etc. etc. gun ownership ,and am a member of GOA. I’m also not “white” (100% european), but a mix of Scottish, Spainish, and S.American. , and believe that it is absolutely “Okay to be white.” : )
