Meeka’s people claim their first pelt

Mayor Satya bows out!

Satya Rhodes Conway announced today that she is withdrawing as a candidate for re-election as mayor of Madison WI. Too bad, because her surrender will emboldened social justice warriors; they will claim her scalp as their prize.

Forget, for a moment, Satya’s rapid bus system. (The jury is still out.) Her high-density residential in-fill troubled progressive NIMBYs like Paul Fanlund at The Capital Times. But Mayor Satya deserves Madison’s thanks and a page in volume 3 of Stu Levitan’s histories of Madison for two acts of courage: busting up the Corey Ruiz autonomous zone on Willy Street (however belatedly) and defenestrating the race-mongering police monitor “Meeka” Glass this month. Hers was Adam Smith’s hidden hand.

“I think that what we are seeing across the country and in Madison is a pattern of very personal harassment and threats to elected officials and, in some cases, public servants and staff. That is not about criticizing their work or their stances or their votes. It is about attacking them as people, and I think that makes it more and more likely that you will lose people from office, and that people will not want to run or will not want to work in local government.” — Satya Rhodes Conway as quoted by the WI State Journal

Wanted poster for Ismael Ozanne, featuring his name, age, height, build, hair color, unique marks, last seen location, and a message demanding impeachment.
Social justice warriors are after still more scalps

She is indeed a victim

Madison democratic government toppled by threatened violence from ultra extremist leftists coddled by rest of community. — former mayor Paul Soglin

“Well sh**. I talked myself out of running cuz I wasn’t convinced I could beat Satya’s money — but it’s a whole new ballgame now.” — Brenda Konkel

A victim of the radical Left that she (it must be said) institutionalized. Signing into law the police monitor legislation six years ago inserted into the City-County Building a plague bacillus of racial animus at the expense of public safety. Nationally, Defund the Police defeated Kamala Harris; in Madison, it gets you office staff.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Our druthers would have Mayor Satya come out swinging like Harry Truman, down in the polls, on that campaign train. Because we don’t see any of the others mayoral candidates (so far) saying what needs be said. No, not even Kaleem Caire. Some of them, like April Kigeya, openly side with the insurrectionists.

The Freedom Inc/Urban Triage cabal is already targeting nine of the 14 alders who voted to fire the police monitor. (Because they are in odd-numbered districts, they’re up for election next April.) Satya’s white flag signals that the likes of Maia Pearson, Brenda Konkel, Shadayra, Royko-Maurer, and Sharon Irwin are political king- or queen-makers.

We say again: it is impossible to please the Woke socialist Left and still run a functioning city.

At some point, a lot of so-called community leaders will have to find some spine.

Would you be surprised if Meeka herself runs for mayor?

A line from the old LA Law tv show: “I am terminal, ergo invincible”.

Not running again frees her up in so many ways, especially for DCI day. She may allow, even encourage liberal use of tear gas, rubber bullets and billy clubs!
