A Safety Hazard!
There is a geographic locus for Madison’s dysfunction: 1202 Williamson Street, Madison WI — the address of Brenda Konkel’s social justice center. It is a nest of 15 largely taxpayer-funded social service agencies and far-left political grievance mongers.
That’s where apologists for the independent police monitor gather to accuse the mayor, alders, police, and other civil servants of rank racism. It is where the illegal Corey Ruiz autonomous zone was strategized. It is where, between January 2025 and August 2026, police were called 300 times, making 20 arrests on 47 charges — things like methamphetamine possession, battery, and public defecation.

It is where on Saturday evening 10-10-26 at 6:22 p.m. police found a stab victim, a 57-year-old man wounded in the abdomen. Even injured, according to the police report, the man wouldn’t cooperate with officers. But he showed up at a hospital and was arrested for two counts of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, discharge of bodily fluids at public safety worker, and a probation hold.
This guy is what we’re dealing with!
Whoever stabbed him is still at large. Meanwhile, Channel 300 WISC-TV 3 reports that The City of Madison is holding off on filing a lawsuit against the Social Justice Center after the organization committed to specific steps intended to address ongoing concerns.
Among the organizations housed there are Brenda Konkel’s Madison Street Medicine, which, ironically is paid to get people off the streets. The organization, funded by $1.87 million in government and private sector charitable grants, pays executive director Konkel an annual salary of $100,472. Also resident at 1202 are the Left-of-Left political party Progressive Dane, LGBT Books to Prisoners, the IWW Madison labor union, Democratic Socialists, and the Tenant Resource Center.
Is it just coincidence that …
• The city’s police monitor could herself face criminal charges for assaulting a police officer?
• Police have been granted a restraining order against the police monitor? (Talk about irony!)
• Someone placed in judgment of police threatens “to burn this F-ing city down!”
• Monitor Aeiramique Glass cannot follow standard municipal regulations governing public contracting, open records, computer data security, and fair hiring policies? (The bill of particulars is damning.)
• She was fired from a similar job in Baltimore, sued to get her job back, and lost in court (The 05-29-26 decision).
• One bad monitor follows another bad monitor — when they can find one?
• A member of the monitor’s oversight board, Maia Pearson, has been arrested within the last year?
• Anyone think it is happenstance that Madison’s social justice center is a chronic crime scene?
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Madison city government made this compact with the devil when it instituted the position six years ago. The City ransomed its white guilt to the racial arsonists who lit Madison, Kenosha, and other cities on fire after petty criminal George Floyd died. City ordinance dictated that the monitor’s oversight board be stacked with grievance mongers and (we cannot make this up) criminals and substance abusers!
The city plans to review the nuisance situation this week.
