Restrained 4 years for harassment
A restraining order has been granted against Madison’s independent police monitor. Circuit Judge Stephen Ehlke granted the restraining order this morning against Aeiramique Glass Blake at the request of a police officer who alleged harassment.
The request for a restraining order was filed 08-31-26 by a female Madison police officer whose identity this blog will protect, as has the circuit court. The officer alleges she was injured in a confrontation with the police monitor on August 4 at the Corey Ruiz insurrection encampment on Willy and Baldwin Streets. The injunction — “without firearm restriction” — will be in force for four years.
Glass (aka “Meeka” Glass) gives her address as Madison’s City County Building, according to the court record. She did not appear at today’s hearing.
The police officer’s statement requesting the restraining order:
‘She knew I was a police officer’
“On August 4 I was working as a City of Madison police officer … I heard loud and aggressive yelling behind me. I saw officer [BLANK] attempt to walk away from a woman following him … I approached because I was concerned the situation was escalating … I did not know the woman’s identity; she was wearing City of Madison emblems. I later learned she was Aeiramique Glass, the City of Madison Independent Police Monitor. …
“Glass was surrounded by a crowd of people who were yelling hostile and threatening things at police officers. Among those statements I personally heard were:
“We’re going to kill you. You need to kill yourself. We will not be silenced; It is going to be an eye for an eye, a body for a body. I can find out where you live, your phone number, you know all your information is out there. … You’ve heard of Mississippi Burning, well, yeah, it’s going to be Madison burning. Go fuck yourself. Pig. Killer Cops. You should be deported.
“‘I hope you get raped and your kids get raped. It’s going to be three shots to the head for them, too.”
[The officer’s statement continues:] “These statements frightened me, particularly the statements finding out where officers live and threatening their families. … Glass swatted my arm away with one hand and pushed me near my chest and shoulder area causing me to fall back. I regained my balance and attempted to place her in custody while she was actively resisted my efforts by scratching my arms. … Glass also dug her fingernails in my arm leaving scratches and tore my skin.
“She knew I was a police officer.”
Note, the complaint never specifically identifies Glass as the source of those comments.
The monitor’s contract as an interim director expires in March. Glass has already declared war against Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway, City Attorney Michael Haas, the city’s personnel director, and current and immediate past Council presidents Alds. Sabrina Madison and Yannette Figueroa Cole. IPM Glass’s biggest defender is Ald. Carmella Glenn.
Alders Tuesday night denied awarding a $28,500 stipend to the monitor’s office from the city’s $1.5 million contingent reserve. Voting no in the 12 to 7 vote were Alds. Evers, Madison, Field, Figueroa Cole, Guequierre, Lankella, O’Brien, Ochowicz, Pritchett, Tishler, Verveer, and Vidaver. Harrington-McKinney abstained.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: If this plot thickens any more we’ll be wearing concrete overshoes.
