Thank you, Mayor Satya

Brenda Konkel says she has ‘no words.’

Blaska on the other hand, has two words: THANK YOU!

Most welcome news this Tuesday morning. At daybreak this morning, the mayor of Madison WI sent in two of the surest and strongest forces of civilization — namely, police and garbage trucks — to reclaim its streets from social justice warriors tearing down our country.

Blaska intends to deliver these remarks to Item #2 at tonight’s virtual Common Council meeting (I get 3 minutes):

Thank you Mayor Satya,

Police chief Patterson, and public works director Charlie Romines. Your actions today showed real leadership. Belatedly, but welcome just the same. The alders should take heed. This City must quit pandering to Madison’s anarchists.

Because the occupation of Willy Street is the direct and foreseeable result of this City’s head-long slide into late-stage progressivism. After at least a decade of official government Woke-splaining, race-baiting and cop defunding, what did you expect? It’s never enough for these people. Their demands are impossible to meet.

This needs to be said: Corey Ruiz’s death may have been tragic — that is disputable. For sure it was inevitable — even foreseeable. During his 19-year crime spree, judge after judge released this menace into the community. Blaska didn’t call the cops on this thief — that was a resident of the progressive Marquette-Lapham neighborhood. A modest estimate of the prison time merited by his 25 individual cases equals 55 years; he served only 3. Many of those cases included battering police.

Madam Mayor, elected Alders: Your message to the community should be: Do Not Resist Arrest! Do not pull a knife in close quarters on police exercising their lawful duty. You will have your day in court. You might even get Judge Mitchell!

Monday at Madison’s City County Building

Level with “The community:”

Police are issued firearms primarily for their own protection against the likes of Corey Ruiz.

Tell them: police officers are somebody’s spouse, some kid’s parent, too. Their family wants to see them come home at night — not visit them in the hospital emergency room.

About this so-called Independent Police Monitor. After the Maia Pearson cover-up, does anyone believe she is impartial? Unbiased? This most Woke of Wokes will condemn the police because that is what “The Community” is paying her to do.

You denied body-worn cameras. Not because of the cost! You approved a $23 million-dollar City Market, a $27 million-dollar homeless shelter, and a rapid bus system losing $4.2 million a year. No, you feared the cameras would exonerate police.

I have no doubt you’ll pay Monitor Glass’s ransom demand for a $1 million-dollar annual budget. You will indemnify the businesses harmed by the Corey Ruiz Autonomous Zone — thereby subsidizing the illegal occupation with my tax dollars. You are already spending what the mayor calls “hundreds of thousands of dollars, and rising with each passing day.”

Because you agree with State Rep. Francesca Hong that Corey Ruiz was a [quote] “execution.” To paraphrase the Queen of Hearts: Verdict first, trial later.

Police drone video of altercation with Police Monitor Aeiramique Glass
Police Monitor Glass detained

→ Antifa and BLM were trashing the mayor’s home after she cleared the Corey Ruiz autonomous zone
→ Madison police spurn Independent Police Monitor
→ Monitor Aeiramique Glass said to be slightly injured in tussle with police
→ Francesca Hong “deeply disappointed that the situation ended with police intervention and arrests” even though anarchists set fire and threw stones street workers clearing the intersection
→ 26 arrested so far
→ Ride the Drive this weekend cancelled
→ Pepper spray at 5 p.m.
→ Police monitor vows to “burn this city down.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line: The mayor’s leadership, however belated, deserves our support. Register here if you wish to comment. Specify as your subject as Item #2 on the agenda. Meeting begins at 6:30 tonight 08-04-26.

Can YOU show leadership?

The out-of-area shock troops will descend on the Square and State St. and create havoc in: 3…2…1…

Word is that these demonstrators at the encampment weren’t exactly local to Madison to begin with. More “Protest for Hire?”

Oh brother. She finally addressed a situation that she had a big hand in creating. When it became obviously politically viable she took action. Clap. Clap. Clap.

I’m happy to laud her when:

    – she publicly apologizes to law enforcement for throwing them under the bus yet again

    – she challenges “The Community” to do better

We’re in phase II judging from last night’s activities at the City County building. How will she respond?

It seems Satya learned from her failures to protect Madison in the summer of 2020. This time, she followed Colin Powell’s doctrine to use overwhelming force in order to win quickly and limit casualties. I liked the front-end loader to scoop trash backing up the phalanx of cops including State Patrol officers.

Amazing how much trash accumulated at the intersection of Willy and Baldwin Streets (soon to be re-named Corey Ruiz Square) in such a short time. On second thought, it’s not amazing at all. Trash begets trash. Now all the bums who temporarily re-located there will have to return to their usual haunts on State Street.

Now seeing there are protestors at her house throwing a tantrum. Does she realize now that appeasement won’t work? Best to take the momentum she has from this morning and run with it.

Was that Francesca Hong trashing the front yard of the mayor’s house?

Some people said that it wasn’t MPD that cleared the way this morning but state patrol officers – was Evers the one who ultimately pulled the trigger?
Speaking of the scarecrow, I actually saw a couple signs for his endorsee Crowley in Madison today – might Dems come to their senses just in time for Tuesday?
Hong Kong Phooey was a great Saturday morning cartoon!

Fat Meeka provokes a confrontation with MPD!

No matter what happens tonight this piece of work needs to be shown the door.

I just clicked on the link for Ch. 3000’s coverage of Aromaque’s arson threat. The station has drone footage supplied by MPD, and it appears that Mr Gelembiuk may have omitted something. The police officer in the blue helmet who initiated the failed detain attempt, after the fight is seen vigorously trying to wipe “a substance” off of their arms. I think Ms Glass may have SPIT on them, thus starting the whole thing. It seems that some of your “community” leaders require not only handcuffs, but spit hoods as well.

Did not stay on the glitchy YouTube feed long but long enough to find a Mayoral candidate – Alder Joann Pritchett. Responding to some artsy woman she actually said “We don’t have the money!”. She doesn’t seem like someone to be messed with.

We can only hope those arrested will face some real consequences – jail time? big fines? – but this being Madison they’ll probably skate & not learn their lessons. I did enjoy seeing the mope – whose face was being smushed down in a dirty puddle – demand that the cops put his favorite cap back on him. (Side note: I feel better now knowing how much money I spent over the years at the Crystal – hope that helps them weather this storm).

Even in Madison Antifa has become Anticlimax.
And let the record show, my father, Joe Lemberger was the brick layer who laid the glass block at the Crystal Corner just before WW II.

David, please understand the mitigating circumstances behind the Police Monitor’s “I will burn this city down” comment. Be assured she foresees a largely peaceful arson experience.
