More Gruff, less UniParty, please

Miss Congeniality is too taxing!

“Experience, priorities, and collegiality” — them’s the criteria our favorite Sunday newspaper here in Madison WI used in endorsing candidates vying for the April 7 election in the 13 contested Dane County supervisory districts.

May it please the court of public opinion, a little less collegiality, a little more fight club. Collegiality is what got the Madison school board to post referenda for $607 million in new spending. Go With the Flow is how the county faces a $31 million deficit. Kumbaya pays the Independent Police Monitor a six-figure salary to harry the police. What metro Madison needs is a few Bluto Blutarskys to puncture the UniParty, turn thumbs down the latest “unmet needs” program, and audit Brandi Grayson.

Proving Marc Eisen’s theory of the hegemonic “UniParty,” Madison’s two news print outlets endorsed the same candidates in 11 of the 13 contested supervisor races! We remember when the Wisconsin State Journal was the conservative platform, the antidote to the warmed over Marxism of The Capital Times. No More. These days, both news outlets jibber when the Democrats jabber. Neither moves without a “Captain May I” from the government employees labor union, AFSCME.

All four agencies endorsed nine of the eleven incumbents — there’s your “experience” for you. The only incumbent in a contested race not endorsed by any UniParty panjandrum is the hard working, well spoken and thoughtful Jeff Weigand. He’s also the only conservative among 37 county supervisors. His opponent, the State Journal alleges, “seems more independent and open-minded than the conservative incumbent she’s trying to unseat.” Open minded? (Sound of Blaska sputtering in RAGE. !😜👺#☠️) Open-minded to the UniParty status quo!

As for “priorities,” they sure don’t include the taxpayer!

Blaska’s Bottom Line: The State Journal wouldn’t endorse Nathan McGree in northwest Dane County because he’s “too gruff.” We like gruff. We’re guessing a lot of voters are feeling pretty gruff in a county paying the highest taxes among the largest 25 counties, according to the Badger Institute. Who else is taking the taxpayers’ side? We’ve made our picks. Hellz bellz, vote against the UniParty even if the alternative is nuttier than a kiddie show clown! Send a message!

Jeff Weigand could use some help on the Dane County Board, where It’s 36 to Jeff  right now. His opponent is endorsed by the UniParty. But Jeff, if you trust your powers of persuasion, you got to show up for the endorsement meeting! Newspaper readers vote. You’ll make them and the editors that much smarter. Stiffing them is political malpractice.

The Madison/Dane County Uniparty will never be content with 36 to 1 in its favor. Like all authoritarian entities, it will never rest until it achieves absolute, total and unquestioned power, which in this case means until all 37 seats are firmly in its clutches.
