Dane County sides with the rock throwers

Joins Gavin Newsom’s lawsuit
against immigration enforcement!

Dane County just confirmed that it is a sanctuary county. Dane County government is joining Gov. Gavin Newsom’s lawsuit against immigration enforcement. The California governor is suing to overturn the President’s decision to federalize the National Guard in response to attacks on immigration officials in the Los Angeles area.

Supv. Jeff Weigand, the only conservative among the 37 members, called it “a horrible decision.”

“No sane person wants their city burned, looted and destroyed. President Trump is doing exactly what he should do in trying to protect the innocent citizens and businesses in Los Angeles.”

Defending the decision to file an amicus brief on Newsom’s behalf, county Corporation Counsel Carlos Pabellón writes, “Our office determined participating in this matter as one of the Amici [friend of the court] would support safeguarding the interests of Dane County.”

“This was done with no vote from the County Board,” Supv. Weigand said this morning. Supervisors in March passed a blanket resolution giving the county’s attorney pre-emptive authority to sue President Trump without specific authorization from the County Board. 2024 RES-352 is legislative malpractice. It rationalizes that the County “be positioned” to act quickly “to defend itself against the federal administration’s threats to the county’s funding, autonomy, or effective functioning.” It passed by a voice vote.

But the California situation would seem to be no threat to the county’s funding, autonomy, or effective functioning.

On Tuesday another Democratic politician found himself handcuffed for interfering with federal immigration officers. Is it a mere coincidence that this guy is also running, and trailing, in next week’s Democratic primary for mayor of New York? Any bets which progressive will try to go viral next by getting into a tiff with federal agents? — Wall Street Journal

An appeals court has temporarily blocked a lower court’s ruling in favor of Newsom. The governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have argued that the National Guard presence exacerbates tensions. The mayor says local police can handle the chaos even though her force is short hundreds of sworn officers.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: understands why the rock throwers might feel tension. California’s elected officials encouraged illegal immigration in the first place — now they’re covering for the rock throwers! We’re guessing that ambitious local virtue signalers are pining to be handcuffed by Kristi Noem’s I.C.E. agents like the California senator and the New York mayoral candidate.

Which local official would be first in line
to be handcuffed?

Okay but first the rock throwers must acknowledge that the rock was stolen from the Ho Chunk.

How is it that there are no Dane County Progressives on the March into Gaza? When they were “detained” by Egyptian police, one protestor shouted “we can do it in America (why not here)”.
I immediately thought that must be a UW graduate.

Are there enough hand cuffs in Madistan to get Sayta’s hands behind her back? Make Dane County Great Again will be the rallying call from the bullhorn.

This is how Dane County spends taxpayer money. No wonder the county is in a budget shortfall. Funny isn’t it that it took a new County Executive to figure out the county is out of money.
