If we are pricked, do we not bleed?
As a dues-paying Republican In Name Only these last 34 years, who is better qualified to reveal the secret code words and bizarre rituals of the RINO class?
We are an endangered species in the Trump ascendancy — scorned by the red cap-wearers, slandered on social media, hounded by so-called Patriots. Still, we disrupt no meetings and break no glass. We write a mean letter to the editor!

We took our Covid jabs like we did the Salk vaccine. We recycle and compost. We think Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan would have made a fine Executive team and Becky Kleefisch an excellent governor of Wisconsin. We support Ron Johnson and Brian Schimming. We win some, we lose some. Our losses are not always stolen.
We subscribe to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic and National Review. We like to challenge our beliefs by exploring both sides. We look at Erin Burnett on CNN and Bret Baier on Fox but increasingly turn to C-Span to get it straight from the horse’s mouth. NPR and Sean Trumpitty are sell outs. Al Sharpton is a disgrace.
We hold the Constitution supreme, the three branches equal. We believe in limited government, personal accountability, and the work ethic. That which is given free is worth nothing.
We don’t do sycophancy
Bill Maher makes us laugh and think. He is today’s Bill Buckley. Jonah Goldberg and Peggy Noonan are double espressos of the printed page. We don’t have to share Robert DeNiro’s politics to enjoy his performances. Kaleem Caire, Dave Cieslewicz, and Paul Soglin are Madison treasures.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion destroy the social fabric. Progressivism encourages victimhood. The next Census should eliminate race questions. We support school choice because competition improves results. Schools don’t need more money, they need more discipline. The climate may be changing but then it is always changing. We believe in clean air, pure water, and preserving natural habitat. Eagles are back and sandhill cranes we never saw as kids now visit our back yard.
We believe in God but don’t pretend the Supreme Deity chooses our Presidents. There are two genders but peace be to everyone. No government bureaucrat can tell us what we can say during a political campaign or when we can say it. Corporations ARE people. Money IS speech. Billionaires did not steal our money. Capitalism works.
We can disagree without being disagreeable but sometimes we’re disagreeable even when we do agree. 🥸

No one is infallible
Lee Harvey Oswald did it by his lonesome; 9/11 was not an inside job; those white streaks in the sky are not mind-altering chemicals out of a James Bond movie. Hillary’s Russian conspiracy was fake. Trump lost in 2020. Quit blaming Nancy Pelosi for J6. Adam Schiff is a stone-cold liar.
Trump is right that Europe should pay for its own defense. Ronald Reagan and Harry Truman were the greatest Presidents in our lifetime. State supreme court Justice Brian Hagedorn kept his word when he promised to rule on the law, not on politics. Our adversaries are not “traitors.”
We can laugh at ourselves. We don’t know everything and (on occasion) might be mistaken. We can stand alone on principle when we must and compromise when we want to get things done.
→ Frequent critic Bill Maher got Donald Trump to sign a list of the President’s insults.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: RINOs aren’t afraid to criticize leaders of their own political party. We don’t do sycophancy. We vote in every election but not enough of us run for office.

Almost a bullseye! Just a tad off the mark with RoJo. He is a Kennedy-like fabulist when it comes to medical science. He has claimed that the covid vaccines are dangerous. I contacted his office to ask what he bases that claim on and they sent me to a website that posts fake science! I pointed that out to Johnson’s team, explaining how the site was not reliable (I am a retired medical school prof, vaccine researcher and have a PhD in viral immunology). What I got back from RoJo’s office was crickets…….he is easily suaded by his bias and simply seeks to confirm it and stops there…..
Steve: I seem to recall reading getting vaccinated/boosted increased likelihood and severity of subsequent COVID infections. Can you clarify?
Truman a great president? Really? He gave eastern Europe to Stalin and his administration gave birth to HUAC.
FDR gave away Eastern Europe. Truman recognized Israel, bombed Hiroshima, integrated the military, rescued Greece from the communists, Marshall Plan in Europe, Berlin airlift, created CIA, fought Communism again in Korea.
Truman signed off on FDR’s giveaway of eastern Europe at Potsdam. Ask your progressive friends what they think of the bombing of Hiroshima and the creation of the CIA. Marshall Plan & Berlin airlift=unqualified good. How about firing MacArthur? No comment on HUAC? (As you can tell, I love historical debates.)
By Potsdam, the war was over. Stalin had boots on the ground on Central Europe. Demanded free elections in Poland but couldn’t enforce without more war.
Aside from disagreements about the amount of fraud tainting the 2020 election, you don’t seem very far from us libertarian conservative types. Now that the Climate Scam is Over. (Peer-reviewed AI analysis completely debunks all of the “man-made” claims), I was hoping for a stronger “Mann made warming is bunk” statement from your litany. Also, boo taxes.
