Is the Pope very ill?
The Head Groundskeeper must admit that, in his dotage, he spends too much time on-line, surfing social media. This may be due to lack of gainful employment.
He also ordered way too much zinnia, cosmos, and natural meadow seed. He could sow Orchard Ridge Park and still have seed left over. He will plant his romano pole beans in April, then wonder why so few germinate. Some people never learn. We are some people.
So here is today’s peevish postulation: too many of us believe that which we wished were true. If it aligns with our preconceived world view, we don’t kick the tires or examine the horse’s mouth. We’re williing to believe everything from (one example) Baxter Dmitry, a frequent on-line content provider whose stuff is “Fact checked by the People’s Voice Community.” It’s a Russian disinformation site!

And some pretty fair Photoshopping!
We were thusly triggered by a post on Facebook this very morning contending that CBS was starting up its own version of The View — but hosted by Megyn Kelly, formerly of Fox News, and former Turning Point USA mouthpiece Candace Owens. Conservative women instead of ABC’s Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. We would like to believe this bulletin. The Werkes yearns for more conservative voices, especially on legacy media — especially when they are foxes!
Are you being played?
Except that Ms. Megyn has been denying this rumor for at least three months, yet it keeps popping up in our feed like Jerry Seinfeld’s unpaid library fine. Shouldn’t the lack of a link arouse — in this era of cyber hacking — some suspicion? But no-ooo!
How many more times must our Facebook feed allege The View itself is about to be canceled (to the cascading hosannas of the easily deceived) before someone catches on that this bridge has already been sold to too many gullible fools? Or that Tom Hanks is stranded on Epstein’s Island after someone photoshopped his Castaway movie because Mr. Hanks is insufficiently MAGA.
Who else thinks Democrats are going to throw a hissy fit at Trump’s (unofficial) State of the Union speech tonight?
Which brings us (as many of you feared) to President #45 and #47. We’re glad he is in the White House and not Kamala despite having voted neither. But when the Re-Maker of American Greatness sneezes too many of our … acquaintances wipe their nose.
Can’t think of any political leader that has merited this bloggeur’s one hundred percent approval rating. No, not even Ronald Reagan nor Tommy Thompson.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: True Believers have their constitutional right to believe fables but we question how many a healthy democracy can survive. We’re contrarian enough to think maybe we need more True Thinkers. There really ARE bridges too far.

The flaw in your admirable attempt to pry the scales from the eyes of those who readily “believe fables” can be found in the phrase “True Thinkers.” Believers in fables don’t think they are gullible; they believe everyone else–especially those who get their information from self-proclaimed “reliable” or “unbiased” sources–are the gullible ones and they are the true thinkers. After the 2016 and 2024 elections, the true thinkers were the ones dissolving in tears of disbelief after Hillary and Kamala went down in flames despite being touted as shoo-ins by the MSM, the punditry, and (most importantly) Hollywood. Their delusion was cemented by reading countless polls, consuming endless hours of PBS/NPR propaganda, and basking in the social media posts in their little universe that convinced them they were “True Thinkers.” Of course, the same can be said of those who reacted similarly to the results of the 2020 election–just substitute Fox News for PBS/NPR. Where, then, are to be found those elusive specimens known as True Thinkers?
You might be one and not know it.
Gary: True Thinkers are the ones who say they voted for Trump in 2016 because of his “policies”.
Who thought Kamala was a shoe-in, true thinker??
Look up the parable of the Chinese farmer.
Are Trump tariffs bad? Maybe.
