More of the same

That’s what the Democrats’
head school marm promises!

Question for the Peanut Gallery: What do Americans want? Judging from the last election (in one word): change. And we’re not talking pennies!

Democrats should take some ownership of Trump v2.0. Asked what she would do different from a President who couldn’t find his own way off the stage, Kamala Harris came up empty. Could not think of a thing.

Talk about misreading a room! The party of Big Gummint must take some responsibility for unleashing Mad Dog Musk and his whiz kids to ransack Washington’s alphabet soup agencies like Alaric and the Visigoths sacked degenerate Rome. Citing the nation’s failing student test scores is not how one rallies support for Department of Education bureaucrats.

Which takes us to Jill Underly, the superintendent of public instruction here in deep purple Wisconsin. The lady is endorsed by the Democratic Party of WI for the nominally non-partisan office. Over the last four years, Dr. Underly has presided over a free fall of student test scores and a persistent racial achievement gap.

Her message: More of the Same. In a state that voted Trump, however narrowly.

Education reform? She’s agin’ it! Opposes school choice, drags feet on charters, unapologetically supports DEI. Her speech to the teachers union unambiguously defended biological males competing in girls’ sports. That’s at odds with the NCAA rules. The WI Athletic Assn. is considering a ban, as well.

→ “Gaming the system, [DPI] exam scores now useless.”

For endorsements, the boss of the Department of Public Instruction is rolling out the usual suspects. Those include Madison Democrats like legislators Lisa Subeck and Shelia Stubbs. Even the Dane County Board of Supervisors rejected Rep. Stubbs’ nomination for head of social services.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Three names are on the Tuesday, Feb. 18 primary election ballot: Jill Underly, Brittany Kinser, and teachers union pet Jeff Wright.

Kinser’s source: National Assessment of Educational Progress

I hesitate to wade in on school districts that can no longer hurt me, but damitalltohell, I am being marauded by phone calls from WI, because you guys are having an election. You have a choice of the devil and deep blue sea with those candidates. When I had children in Madison, we did everything we could to give the swerve to the DOE, and we extremely lucky we could afford to homeschool. I was always horrified at the candidates running and those who eventually got in. I’m praying for you and your children. Not kidding!

One look at that photo of Sheila and Jill and their smug, s**t-eating grins should be enough to tell you what’s wrong with Democratic Party of Wisconsin (and beyond). Give me Don, Elon, and their Visigoths any day!

“When Schoolchildren Start Paying Union Dues, That’s When I’ll Start Representing The Interests Of School Children” attributed to late NYC Teachers Union Thug (forgive the redundancy) Albert Shanker.

It’s (IMO) a given that he, et al, think it, but did he really say it?

    The Gotch thinks so, too.
