You might need a lawyer!
There were no Daniel Pennys on the F Train as it approached the Stillwell Avenue station in Brooklyn a week ago, early Sunday morning 12-22-24. No heroes to stop an illegal (excuse us: “undocumented”) immigrant from Guatemala from setting afire a sleeping homeless woman. No one to interrupt the perp from fanning the flames with his shirt as the fire engulfed the poor woman. Not a good way to go.
Were would-be good samaritans dissuaded after Daniel Penny was railroaded through the progressive justice system? Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg prosecuted Mr. Penny for murder for restraining (perhaps a minute too long) another man who promised “Someone is going to die today” on a different subway train. Not on Mr. Penny’s watch!
A jury exonerated the former Marine, but what is the lesson learned here, class? How about: Intervene at your own risk! Better to leave it to the police, when they finally arrive, than inadvertently (or otherwise) harm the troublemaker. Let the professionals handle it. When they get there.
Minutes, when seconds count

Police responded within three and a half minutes to Abundant Life Christian School here in Madison WI 12-16-24. No inexplicable, cowardly delay as in Uvalde TX. Problem is, by that point, a disturbed 15-girl had already killed a classmate and a teacher and injured six others before taking her own life. The FBI reports that 69% of active shooter threats are over in five minutes or less; two-thirds are over before officers arrive, according to this source.
These things happen fast. Which is why Blaska once again calls for legislation to encourage teachers to bear arms in our schools, public and private. Across the U.S., 32 states allow school personnel to carry guns on campus. Two states joined their ranks earlier this 2024 — Iowa and Tennessee. But not Wisconsin!
Is it really so wild west to allow a teacher to carry a weapon? A teacher whose background — like all teachers — has been vetted, whom the district trusts with our kids? A teacher who volunteers for the responsibility and is trained to handle firearms responsibly?
Odds are your school’s faculty includes several who were trained to handle weapons in the military. Since 1993, more than 100,000 veterans have successfully transitioned to a career in education through a federal program called “Troops to Teachers.” Or were former cops. Most schools, like Abundant Life, cannot afford to hire dedicated school resource police officers.
Or don’t you trust teachers?
Isn’t that why schools are targeted in the first place? Because they are “gun free” zones for everyone but the disturbed shooter? (Moose out in front should have told you!) Might that troubled kid wonder which teacher might shoot back and decide it wasn’t worth it?
The State of Iowa offers qualified immunity from criminal and civil liability for damages “pursuant to the application of reasonable force” to school districts and employees in cases involving firearm usage by school personnel.
Tennessee requires armed teachers to undergo 40 hours of training, pass a psychological evaluation, submit fingerprints and get a handgun permit in order to carry a weapon. Their principal, education commissioner and sheriff must sign off. The bill doesn’t require schools to inform parents or other educators if a teacher is armed.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: Same principle as the motorcycle cop with speed radar behind the billboard. Might only be one armed teacher in the entire school. But which one?

No Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods reference?
Disappointed.
Cluelessly despicable Lefty Alexandria 0CRAZ0-Cortez on Good Samaritan Daniel Perry: “Daniel Perry Made The Subway Less Safe.”

Maybe it’s also time to arm clergy and acolytes at church services. Why not? The sixth commandment is merely a technicality in our dystopian society.
Asked a friend if his church service was armed. Answered, “It is when I’m in attendance.”
A sad situation, indeed.
“Maybe it’s also time to arm clergy and acolytes at church services.”
To borrow a phrase: “Why not? ” Kacklin’ Kamala claims she’s ready to protect her castle, by Ventilating Intruders.
‘Course, the Kackler’s pistol-packin’ persona would make Barney Fife look like a Special Ops marksman.

I do not advocate for firearms in places of worship (except perhaps in the face of a huge rash of targeted religious violence). But the Catholic Church has long held the position that self defense can be morally justified, up to and including deadly force if you’re put in a position where it’s your life or theirs. There’s nothing dystopian about that. Dystopian looks a lot more like allowing morally bankrupt degenerates have their way with innocent passersby, such as setting someone on fire on a subway just to watch them burn.
I wonder what might have happened if Abundant Life (is the irony in that name too obvious to point out?) had had an armed security officer on the premises. He would certainly have been able to intervene even sooner than the (admirably swift) cops.
Not as fast as an armed teacher.
“Don’t be a hero.” But yet you want some teacher to pull a gun and defend a school. Gun up and volunteer to patrol the place. Teachers have procedures to follow when an active shooter is on campus. You want them to abandon their kids, put their big girl panties on and go shoot it out in the halls. I’ve been hearing this thoughts and prayers crap for years. The truth is in 90 days you won’t even remember what happened. This guns for teachers’ garbage is just another excuse to do nothing of real consequence. After constant complaining about parents, teachers, unions, school taxes this is all you got? This isn’t shooting at a range or plinking tin cans. You’re asking them to confront a shooter and take a life.
Money Quote; “but not Wisconsin”. Why not? The Goobers On Parade are in charge. Call Vos, Johnson, Gableman and the rest of those grifters. If it gets vetoed; over-ride it. You have the majority. Put it on a referendum.
Perfect Lefty response: create a problem in the first place and then be outraged when the conservatives propose a solution. Pathetic!
