State Rep. Snodgrass compiles a ‘fraught legacy’
Political essayist Michael Kinsley observed that a gaffe is when a politician unintentionally utters what s/he really thinks. We give you State Rep. Lee Snodgrass, Democrat out of Appleton WI. At the death 12-01-24 of David Prosser, retired WI Supreme Court justice and former WI Assembly Speaker, rather than remain silent, Rep. Snodgrass decided to dance all over his grave.

David Prosser, she posted, “wasted taxpayer money,” and “gave huge giveaways to the billionaires like stadium owners.” Milwaukee Democrats were among the majority who voted to keep the Brewers in Milwaukee through the public/private stadium authority that built the domed ballpark now known as American Family Field.
As for “dark money,” then chief justice Shirley Abrahamson “applauded Prosser for adding a commentary to the new [judge] recusal rule that mentions factors such as a contributor’s pending litigation to help the judge assess the impact of campaign spending on his or her role.” (Source here.)
The rabid Democrat repeats the canard that Justice Prosser put his hands around liberal justice Ann Walsh Bradley’s neck back in 2011, neglecting to note that the woman, fists of fury flailing, had backed the diminutive Prosser into a bookcase. His hands were up in self defense. Abrahamson was delaying the release of the majority opinion upholding Act 10 (once again in the news). When the conservative wing of the court demanded actiion, Walsh Bradley took umbrage and attacked Prosser.

De mortuis nil nisi bonum
“He leaves a terrible legacy,” Snodgrass concluded. The lady is no outlier; she is second vice chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and was her party’s sergeant at arms in the Assembly. Discretion being the better part of valor, one wonders what Rep. Snodgrass gained from trashing a man who Appleton elected nine times to the legislature and was beloved by many as a gentle man of (yes) compassion and propriety. Indeed, when Tommy Thompson appointed Prosser to the high court in 1998, a bipartisan group of 77 legislators described the appointee as, “learned, thoughtful, and fiercely defensive of our system of law.”
Dave Prosser’s many friends were truly offended. Brian Schimming is now chairman of the state Republican party:
As Speaker Prosser’s former chief of staff, who was with him in his agonizing dying hours, this is an appalling attack by Democrat Rep Snodgrass, who now represents his hometown of Appleton he loved. I’ll tell his hurting family not to wait for an apology. She’s below it.
→ In 2022, the Rep. Snodgrass advised parents “who want a say in their child’s education” to home school or send them to a private school at their own expense. Because it wasn’t going to happen in our public schools if she could help it!
The big walk back
Sort of. In a way. “I am removing this comment about the former justice’s fraught legacy,” she posted.

The blowback apparently revivified a heretofore dormant political gene, causing Rep. Snodgrass to pull down the tweet and accuse those who were offended of “weaponizing” … her own words!
Those who screen capture, share, and continue to amplify my comment should ask themselves if doing so is helping or hurting the family members you are concerned about.
A question she should have asked herself before committing hate to print.
Blaska’s Bottom Line: This RINO despises mean tweets no matter the author or subject. But if State Rep. Lee Snodgrass is going to stick the shiv in a dead man, we’d have more respect if she wouldn’t blame the witnesses. Instead, in damage recovery mode, she now poses as the victim. The woman uses her own father’s death years ago as “a grieving daughter” to siphon for herself some of the sympathy she denied Mr. Prosser.

She’s a sorry excuse of a human being. Pathetic.
“Who speaks ill of the dead?”
Despicably detestable Lefty, THAT’S who!
The Gotch
Indeed. I remember all the vitriol hurled at Justice Antonin Scalia before he was even in the ground. And Annie Laurie Gaylor spewing bile at Pope John Paul II before he was paid his last respects.
Snodgrass should be ashamed for even thinking these things before Prosser is laid to rest, but her weak attempt at a mea culpa says that shame left her a long time ago.
“her weak attempt at a mea culpa says that shame left her a long time ago.”
Bravo Indigo November Golf Oscar!
Despicable Lefty’s been saying the quiet part out loud for a while now; they really believe that open displays of their abhorrent hatred are fine-n-dandy so long as it’s directed at those they deem deserving.
When they’re called out for their execrable slobberings, they feign surprise and fall back on the Schrödinger’s Douchebag technique.
Karma!
The Gotch
At least Rep. Snodgrass attempted an apology. It is an abasement of sorts. What else do you want?
“…should be ashamed for even thinking these things…”
Are you the thought police, Mordecai? What’s in YOUR pure, little brain?
“At least Rep. Snodgrass attempted an apology.”
Nice try. Her retraction is not an apology. The words “apology”, “I’m sorry”, “I was wrong to” or anything resembling these appear nowhere in it. She merely erased her vitriolic comments after realizing she kicked a hornet’s nest in a disgusting attempt to gain progressive street cred. There’s a difference. Get it?
“Are you the thought police, Mordecai? What’s in YOUR pure, little brain?”
I’ve been very clear that people can think and say what they want according to their First Amendment rights. That doesn’t mean they get immunity from criticism when those thoughts and words are reprehensible.
I never claimed to be pure. But refraining from sliming a recently deceased person before their grieving friends and family have buried them is basic human decency. Snodgrass attempts deflection by saying others will celebrate her death (as if that makes what she said alright). Maybe some will, but I won’t be one of them.
If her own father tried teaching her decency, it’s obvious the lessons didn’t take.
More “diarrhea of the mouth” from a Democrat.
Is anyone surprised?
I can’t print here what I honestly think of State Rep. Lee Snodgrass right now, but for a comparison, let’s just say she occupies an equally low place in my heart as the genocidal racist and mass murderer Hitler.
I think the comparison to Adolf Hitler is extreme and rather silly and juvenile. The fact that a genocidal maniac has a place in your “heart” at all sounds obsessive.
Geeze. This ^^^ kind of nonsense can’t be fixed.
You know that you can’t get in the way when the righties are trying to claim the moral high ground. Was what she said insensitive? Sure. But; the next step is to label every person who ever voted for a Dem evil is their usual reaction. You must remember they are the party of purity, ordained by God to stand in judgement on every person who is not in lockstep with their beliefs. Anyway, GOOD JOB LIONS!
So Trump, because he is the new Hitler. Too soon. Lol. This is a blanket statement not to Steve. To be frank, this happens with people of all walks of life left or right side of things. It is just that social media makes it much easier to make harful statements. LEE tell usnhow your really feel. I like it atleast she is being honest about herself so wisconsin gop knows what we are up against across the aisle. Bring it on. Keep it up. It is election material.
No surprise here. Progressives see that their ship is sinking and are getting desperate. Will continue to see them flail for a while yet.
Seems to be a common theme these days for these Comrades. 37% wanted Tramp dead. https://www.mediaite.com/news/taylor-lorenz-defends-her-celebration-of-brian-thompsons-murder-its-natural/
