We hear you!

America is at war with itself

and the clock is ticking!

In six weeks it will all be over, except that it will not, we fear. November 5 cannot come soon enough but we dread that day and its aftermath. Has any election since 1860 unleashed more malevolent spirits? The Left never accepted the 2016 election; many on the right tried to overturn the follow-up four years later — through legal and illegal means.

Maybe we’re just old, but we know we are tired. We remember gracious concession speeches on Election Day. Nixon, presiding over the Senate, announcing the election of JFK.

Election Day

A news story up at our favorite Madison WI daily newspaper is headlined:Election officials prepare for threats with panic buttons, bulletproof glass.” Never mind police in our troubled high schools, the governors in the seven or so battleground states would be well advised to put armed guards at polling places.

It would help if candidates would quit framing this election as likely the last free election, if they would not propose suspending the Constitution, or prosecuting novel legal cases, or casting their opponents as evil. It would also help if people would quit shooting at our candidates! Losing to the other guy is not the end of America as we know it. But refusing to accept the results may well be.

Sometimes the best candidate loses. (Which explains Blaska’s many defeats.) When 60 or so court decisions, state and federal, rule against you — maybe you really did lose! Here in Wisconsin, the conservative WI Institute for Law & Liberty and the nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau declared the 2020 results were honest. Or is the conspiracy so widespread that everyone — even Republican governors and AG Bill Barr — are in on it?

“Unsubstantiated claims of a ‘stolen’ election is not sustainable in a democracy … seriously weakening the country.” — the report “Lost Not Stolen,” signed by eight notables, including two former Republican U.S. Senators and retired federal Judge J. Michael Luttig.

 Can we do this?

That is why many of us have joined with former Republican Gov. Scott McCallum in the Wisconsin Alliance for Civic Trust (WisAct) to “promote trust in our political system, support for fair, safe, and secure elections, and peaceful engagement with our fellow Americans.” Here in the Madison metropolitan area, former Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and this dues-paying Republican have signed on.

We encourage you to join us in this effort. No dues, no ask other than to stand up — by name — to demonstrate a groundswell of support for civility. Put simply, this democratic republic can survive only with good and gracious losers. Take this petition to your club or church group.

 A true patriot admitted defeat

Here in the Stately Manor’s Dan Quayle Reading Room sits David McCullough’s well thumbed bio of John Adams. This Founding Father committed an act as patriotic as anything for which Washington and Lincoln are celebrated.

At 4 o’clock in the morning, “under clear skies lit by a quarter moon,” John Adams caught public transportation (a horse-drawn stage coach) from what was then called “the President’s House” to make way for the man who defeated him. As the first President to be defeated for re-election, Adams left the new capital city “Rolling through empty streets past darkened houses.”

After so vicious a contest for the highest office, with party hatreds so near to igniting in violence, a peaceful transfer of power seemed little short of a miracle. — John Adams, by David McCullough.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: We could use another miracle.

Can YOU help make that miracle?

I’ve been saying this for a while not and I still think it’s likely to happen…

“Based on observed cultural, societal and political patterns in the 21st century, I see the 2024 election as being a societal and cultural disaster for the United States of America. No matter who is elected, the reactions are going to be bad, and they’re likely to be very bad.”

Right now, I personally think that the roughly 20% of undecided voters are going to be prime targets for a short term 11th hour October smear campaign that will plaster some kind of circumstantial evidence across the media that’s so astounding that people would be shocked if it wasn’t accurate. There will be absolutely no way to effectively counter the smear campaign propaganda in such a short span of time.

“The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times since 2016 that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left and their lapdog media actively push?”

So if you take into consideration what we’ve seen from the political left and their lapdog Pravda-USA media and consider how effective they have been at promoting their routine short term guilty until proven innocent propaganda, who do you think will come up with the most effective short term smear campaign to directly target that 20% of undecided voters and rig the election with a anti-Trump media propaganda blitz?

All that said; we have absolutely no idea how many of those undecided voters will swallow an 11th hour smear campaign and who will see through the ends justify the means tactic and completely reject it because of the timing. Even a life long Democrat Alan Dershowitz has openly stated that Trump comes out well ahead on many hot topic policy issues, and Trump is a thoughtful leader in private and out of the public eye, but he falls well behind Harris in character traits presented to the public. The Harris rebranding media blitz has been successful in lying to the public and presenting her as moderate and presidential. So it comes down to character vs policy; therefore, I’m thinking that the 11th hour smear campaign will try to drive home all the negative Trump character traits and blindly ignore policy.

Yup, I know those are some bold predictions but at least they are based on observed tactical patterns of the political left and not just pissing in the wind.

In so many ways, I hope I’m wrong.

God forbid that the voters take into consideration the character of a candidate. Has anyone seen my dog?

Does character include not actually answering any policy questions? Talking in word circles is not a good leadership attribute.

Maybe not, but either is 4 years of whining and crying, insurrection, stealing secrets, 34 convictions and more to come.

From Politico: “On May 30, 2024 Trump became the first U.S. president to become a convicted felon. He was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with hush money payoffs to porn star Stormy Daniels…”

Other charges remain in legal limbo. Look them up.

Explains what is really going on. Republicans would love to have had Nikki to keep the wars going. They couldn’t get past Trump’s popularity. At least the Republicans keep Democracy in place. Democrats had no problem kicking it to the curb. They think it’s perfectly normal to have “Doctor” Jill leading cabinet meetings. Joe’s senility is greatest coverup of my lifetime.

The classical liberals understand what is at stake and they are lining up behind Trump.

Anywho, DementiaJoKe hasn’t held a Cabinet Meeting in pert’ ‘near a year!

Dr. Shill is unelected and has neither been appointed nor confirmed by Congress; these are impeachable offenses. Sheesh, the Cabinet Meeting folders were embossed with both their names…WTF?

      It gets worse.

DementiaJoKe hasn’t met with the Fed’s Jerome Powell in OVER_TWO_YEARS; this is unprecedented.

And despicably detestable Lefty’s ubiquitous refrain?

But, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but Truuuuuuuuuuuuuump!

She presented all the work that was done on women’s health. That’s why her name was on the folder. When done she left. Trump never even had a full cabinet due to 85% turnover. Trump’s health plan was to grab their pu$%y and watch them die in an ER parking lot.

Start with Stormy Daniels and work your way through the other 34. The crooked Judge Cannon and the rotten Supreme Court keep saving his fat ass. Keep sending him money so he can pay all his lawyers. Now the Haitians in Springfield are suing him and Dumb-ass Vance.

Falsifying business records relating to Stormy Daniels is a felony of which Trump has been convicted, madisonexpat. By the way, tell Bob Dean to show us the pictures.

60 court decisions – most of them were decided by “standing”, so no evidence was looked at. 40,000 votes in 3 states decided the election in 2020 – that’s a mighty slim margin that should have been questioned, especially given the last 3.5 years of hell most people are living through. I went driving through the hinterlands this past weekend and the Trump/Vance/Hovde signs were off the charts in numbers. Much more than 2020 and even 2016. The yard sign indicator seems to say that the rich billionaire who lost a billion dollars while President will win.

Expat, you haven’t changed. You still refuse to accept the facts and sourcing when they are spelled out. Read my above post for comprehension. I already named the felony: falsifying business records. You seem mentally deficient. Go crawl back to MAGA world.

Falsyfying business records is not a felony. Name any felony Trump has been convicted of. By the way, your insult tells us more about your argument than it does about me.
