Playing golf in Rancho Mirage
Visiting the Coachella Valley where, I find, there are 45 listed public golf courses and 45 private courses. Playing one of the latter, The Springs, which is the center of the gated community where the Lovely Lisa and I are staying with friends. Totally missed Joe Biden’s State of speech, totally missed the Academy Awards show (mainly because we waited until 7 to start looking for it, not realizing that it was 10 p.m. Eastern Standard time.
Ate a grapefruit this morning off the tree in our walled compound. Temps in the upper 70s. You got desert, mountains, and greenery — the latter said to be watered from the aquifer fed by the mountain snowmelt. The streets here are named after Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and Dinah Shore and their crowd. I like the vibe.
Anyway, we’ll return to poking the hornet’s nest later this week. We thank our hosts, Sharon and Herb, for putting up with us.

STOU address: You didn’t miss anything. Just an angry old man yelling about Republicans and his “predecessor”, insulting the Supreme Court, and exagerating about his accomplishments. No new news here.
Academy Awards: Just a bunch of elete Hollywood people patting themselves on their backs and interjeting their politics. Remindes me of our elected officials constantly telling us what a great job they are doing. That’s why I never watch it.
I am like you, in Arizona (but for the Winter not a week or two) enjoying golf and people that think more like me. See you back in Madison sometime in May.
