This doesn’t surprise me one bit. Right now, the GOP controlled state leg. is discussing Bill 308. If passed it will make teachers and library staff FELONS if certain books on available. Who will decide on these books? Are they going to set up another big gov’t agency? Will the bookmobile be impounded if it has a book deemed unfit? Will old Mrs. Johson be doing hard time over checking out a copy of Greek Mythology? Is the story of the crucifixion to violent for children? Book banning is the topic and making teachers and library staff FELONS if the book police find something with violence or sex in it on the shelves. Is the bible on their list? Is the crucifixion to violent for our children to learn about? Will Mrs. Johson be doing hard time for stamping out a book on Greek Mythology? Speaking of the the parents: they have wage stagnation, no savings, poor job prospects, are two days away from the dole themselves, the ones that aren’t already homeless will be by the end of the month, ad infinitum ad nauseum.

Incremental tuition sounds good although it would be better to base it on expected post graduate earnings vs demand. And do the same thing for student loans. Yes you gender studies majors won’t be eligible for much. You’ll be thankful.
The other point is where he talks about DEI programs- they’re needed for recruiting, not for any intrinsic value they provide.
He may have a valid case that this is a freedom of expression issue. Will be interested to see if FIRE (Greg Lukianoff) gets involved.
