Standing up to progressive hate

Platinum subscriber (with gold leaf cluster) Jonathan Burack got us going on this and Platinum subscriber (with coronets of tomatoes) Cornelius (“The Gotch”) Gotchberg provided the link we reproduce here. Jonathan B writes his alma mater, Harvard U:

I’ve been following all this via the Harvard Crimson, which I read and leave comments with regularly. Yesterday, I received an invite to my 60th class reunion, to which I felt compelled to reply to this way:

Alumni Association:

I am sorry, but I will not be attending. I cannot say I would have anyway. But I believe you – and all of Harvard’s leadership – need to know that I have in my mind now cut ALL ties to Harvard. I join many others in absolute horror at the way Harvard failed to respond to the groups that on October 8 were, whether they admit it or not, celebrating and excusing absolute, murderous and unqualified Jew hatred. This is NOT a matter of my calling for speech suppression. They had every right to express the barbaric and demented views they hold. It is the failure of the university to call them on it, which the administration only did in the most tepid and worthless way after being shamed into it.

What IS speech suppression, by the way, is what the Harvard Crimson is now engaged in (and who knows what other opinion outlets the university has), having shut down the vibrant and challenging comments sections to their stories. I do not use invective, I do not dox, etc., but many of my comments on the Crimson site of late have been held for moderation and then disappeared entirely. If any of you have any sway with those future journalistic greats training themselves at the Crimson, you may pass on my remarks and my contempt for them.

“Harvard Law School’s journal “Civil Rights and Civil Liberties” requires that applicants reveal their sexual orientation, gender identity and race for their article submissions to be considered, as well as including their preferred pronouns (mine are “Bite me!”) and whether he or she is blessed with a disability.”

Hahvahd has taken a direct, Self-Inflicted Friendly FIRE hit from (and this is where it gets GOOD!)…The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.

Harvard Gets WORST_SCORE_EVAH In FIRE’s College Free Speech Rankings

The Crimson (hemorrhaging disgusted donor ink of the same hue) is listing dangerously, and to no one’s surprise, aport.

It’s almost too much to take.

      Almost…

MAGA distrust of elites?! Ha ha. Sure, the pawns might, but the leaders are not doing anything about it except placing themselves in the elite spot.

Orwell: “The aim of the high is to remain whet they are. The aim of the middle is to change place with the high.” The middle always uses the low to achieve the goal of the middle, generally by lying to the low or handing out crumbs. MAGA is the next in a long history of lies the middle uses to exploit the low.

Harvard and all other elite educational institutions are in a sticky spot. Their primary purpose isn’t really education as much as class distinction. But as more low-class people get educated, the institution has to end up letting some in to keep up the charade that they are an educational institution. But then the high-class people get quite annoyed by this, because what use is the degree they bought if it isn’t distinguishing their class-solidarity? This is why, in the past, an Ivy League degree would guarantee you a high paying job – it was evidence that you wouldn’t undermine the pecking order. But now that low-class people also get these degrees, it’s starting to mess up everything.

Platinum subscriber (with gold leaf cluster). Hey, thanks. This is the greatest honor I have received since winning my Cub Scout Wolfe Badge and, later, the 1957 Norwalk, Conn, Babe Ruth Batting Championship.
