I’m getting too old for this sch*tt!
Thought I’d take a few photographs of the Stand With Palestine event Sunday 10-15-23 at Madison’s Tenney Park shelter. Should have known better.
While trying to take a photograph of a poster outside the shelter — and of only a poster — a woman of short stature stuck a sign in my face. (It read: “100% free abortion on demand!”)Being taller, I held my smart phone over her head to photograph the sign. At that point, a young dark-haired man rushed from my right and shoved me violently to the concrete sidewalk, my head slightly hit the brick wall at the NW corner of the shelter.
Then this guy (check out the link. Who IS THIS GUY?) came up to me and said I didn’t look too bad. Refused to identify himself. I’m a little shaken up as I write this but sustained no visible injuries. Credit to the body fat Blaska has assiduously built up over the decades. [UPDATE: But I’m sore as all hell. Couple ibuprofens and a glass of cabernet sauvignon on order.]
I clearly identified myself — in fact, had earlier given my business card to one of them. At that time asked if I could take a picture of her holding her sign. She said no, so I walked away. This time I just wanted to take a photograph of a poster outside on a ledge. Asked for the name of the young man who shoved this old guy to the concrete sidewalk. They claimed no one pushed me.
No, I do not have witnesses who would verify this account. I came alone. So it’s my word against you know who.
