Do Republicans want to win or avenge?

Biden’s too old; Trump is too toxic!

Gavin Newsom is buying TV time in Florida; Ron deSantis is going back atcha in California. Let the games begin!

Just because the James Webb telescope can look billions of years back in time doesn’t mean American politics should do so. Yet, infrared imagery detects Donald Trump greasing up that escalator to announce for President before the mid-term elections — the earliest announcement ever. That may be why #45 is coming to Milwaukee August 20.

Even Trey Gowdy on Fox is appalled. Monday 07-11-22 Gowdy (our choice for the next attorney general) opined Republicans want the issue to be Joe Biden, not Donald Trump.

The Wall Street Journal agrees. “Mr. Trump’s meddling in primaries has already hurt GOP chances of taking back the Senate. His vendetta against Doug Ducey kept the Arizona governor from running fo the senate … the strongest candidate against Sen. Mark Kelly.”  Their headline: “Democrats want the former President front and center in the election, and he agrees.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden is sinking like a Mafia informer wearing concrete overshoes. Michelle Goldberg, the left-of-AOC columnist for the New York Times, comes right out and says Joe Biden is too old. “He can step aside without conceding failure. There’s no shame in not running for president in your 80s.

The New York Times/Siena College poll that reports 64% of Democrats want a different presidential nominee in 2024 also says Biden still beats Trump 44-41%. “What does it say that Joe Biden, the least popular President in modern times, still beats Donald Trump?” — the Wall Street Journal asks.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Some of us want to elect small government, low-tax, constitutionally responsible, law ’n order Republicans. Others are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Who’s your horse in the race?

I agree with you here, David: Trump’s time has come and gone. He hurts The Conservative Movement by sticking around. All the idiots who voted for Biden because of Trump’s personality (instead of policy) owe me and the rest of the country an apology and they will vote that way again if given the chance. Desantis is such an obvious no-brainer, hard to understand this even being a question.

Is it a stretch to think that someone will convince Trump that since he can’t win in 2024 he should accept the mantle of prophet, a Goldwater to the next Reagan (DeSantis, Cotton, whoever), i.e., someone who could enact his policies–and usher in a new conservative era– without further dividing the country? Probably, but one can hope. Has anyone seen a poll that shows how he would do against Harris, Newsome, Warren, or any of the other likely Democrat candidates? Conservatives should be grateful to Biden for one thing: showing the country what life is like under a “progressive” (elitist, radical, downright loony) regime.

  7. You are fair weather fans. When the going got tough for Trump, you cut and ran rather than remain tough and supportive. DeSantis is good but we have to save him for the following four years after Trump’s next term. Biden is not too old, he’s too dumb and always has been. He has always been on the wrong side of decisions. Now he has turned into a woke supremacist and it has nothing to do with his age. He is suffering from dementia and his wife is committing elder abuse. Trump will win in any debates against any GOP contestants. He has the gift.

I did and still do like Trump. My favorite President since Ronald Regan. I just don’t think that the dem’s will let Biden run again. I do think that with the economy that Biden has given us, it would be impossible for him to win. But let’s put it this way, unless the information about who the J6 committee and their Soviet style show trial comes out in full well before the 2024 vote, a vote for Trump will not succeed.

Is the real issue whether Trump runs again or not? Is not the real question needing to be addressed what has happened to the Republican Party that even allows for such a scenario to be pondered? Nelson and Happy Rockefeller are no longer household names, but his political career took a massive hit after a (mere) divorce and quick marriage. Trump can seek more votes via a recorded phone call to Georgia so to overturn an election, “‘Fellas, I Need 11,000 Votes” and push for an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol which resulted in deaths and scores of injuries to law enforcement and a large portion of the GOP seek his candidacy and would cast a ballot for him. Trump is not the issue. The conscience of the Republican Party is the question that must be addressed.

Well, isn’t that a matter of opinion?

dekerivers wrote, “Is not the real question needing to be addressed what has happened to the Republican Party that even allows for such a scenario to be pondered?”

The great thing about our country is that it’s supposed to be ingrained in our core that yes we can and do ponder these things and you implying that it’s wrong to ponder these things is the devils 666 mark of hive-minded totalitarian thinking.

      By the way; a lot of things have happened in the 21st century;
      1. It seems to be popular to be a narcissist with a unethical loose cannon mouth.

      2. It seems that absurdity has taken hold of the population in very bad ways and I talk about them on my (currently) six part blog series titled in part Absurdity In The 21st Century Has Somehow Become “Normal”.

      3. If we’re going to talk about what’s happened to the Republican Party because of one man Donald Trump, shouldn’t we talk equally about what’s been happening to the Democratic Party (the whole party and damn near everyone that supports it) in the 21st century which has fallen off the rails of reality and gone totally absurd with their breeching the dikes of reality and allowing tidal waves of “bias makes you stupid” hysteria that completely undermines their critical thinking – I’ve got a recent blog post about that too.

dekerivers wrote, “Trump can seek more votes via a recorded phone call to Georgia so to overturn an election, “‘Fellas, I Need 11,000 Votes” “

I don’t agree with what President Trump did, lots of conservatives and Republican’s don’t agree with what President Trump did.

dekerivers wrote, “…push for an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol…”

That’s pure opinion. In my opinion President Trump didn’t push for a riot at the Capitol and saying he did is pure consequentialism (the doctrine that the morality of an action is to be judged solely by its consequences) and therefore unethical. Also, in my opinion, labeling the riot an insurrection is an unwarranted extrapolation, it certainly was a protest gone bad and turned into a riot like so many we’ve seen across the USA lately and that’s all it was. Anyone that was actually at the Capitol and actually inciting others to riot should be prosecuted, there are laws regarding the incitement of riots and they should be enforced. The ones that injured police, prosecute them to the full extent of the law. The rest of the ones that entered the Capitol and walked around and/or broke things, give them their misdemeanor tickets and send them home.

dekerivers wrote, “…which resulted in deaths and scores of injuries to law enforcement…”

I’ll let you talk with the Gotch about that one since he already started that conversation.

dekerivers wrote, “…and a large portion of the GOP seek his candidacy…”

Interesting opinion; I’m seeing more and more negative push-back and outright opposition from the GOP to a Trump presidential candidacy in 2024, are you intentionally ignoring that because it doesn’t fit your narrative?

dekerivers wrote, “…and would cast a ballot for him.”

So now you must think you’re Carnac the Magnificent and can predict how a large portion of the GOP will vote for Trump if he were a candidate? I think your prediction falls within that “bias makes you stupid” blind niche that’s a part of arrogance.

dekerivers wrote, “Trump is not the issue.”

Trump IS the issue for some people and you disregarding that as a valid issue is what pompous intellectual Democrats have done for years. You’ve dropped your rhetorical pants and exposed yourself.

dekerivers wrote, “The conscience of the Republican Party is the question that must be addressed.”

What the hell would you, a self proclaimed Liberal Democrat, know about the conscience of the Republican Party? Arrogant big government liberals can’t even control the immoral lunatic fringes in your own Party that are shoving the USA towards totalitarianism and that’s partly because the vast majority of the political left has fallen into the brainwashed absurdity of the 21st century social justice fold and no longer have a reality based moral conscience as a guide. These totalitarian wackos argue with fact-less irrational emotion and that nonsense has taken control of the Democratic Party. How dare you think you can act as if you have the moral high ground after the last 6+ years of absolute absurdity coming from the Democratic Party. You have the balls to talk about the conscience of the Republican Party, look in the damn mirror.

I’m sick and tired of the Democrats brazen hypocrisy.

You’re a troll parroting lies, that story was verifiably false propaganda that was intentionally promoted as fake news by the media and you, being the good little sheeple you are, swallowed it hook-line-and sinker. The medical examiner deemed Sicknick’s death as “natural” and found no evidence that Sicknick had any injuries from the riot including no allergic reaction injury due to the pepper spray that he came in contact with. The medical examiner’s official report said that Sicknick died of “natural” causes, an “acute brainstem and cerebellar infarcts due to acute basilar artery thrombosis” that’s a basilar artery blood clot, which caused damage to his brainstem and cerebellum and there was no connection whatsoever to the events at the riot. The term “natural” was used to indicate a death caused by a disease alone, it appears that Sicknick’s disease was a waiting medical time bomb that could have happened at any moment in time.

These facts have been known for a very long time and yet you keep parroting the fake news, that shows me that you’re intentionally lying to troll aka you’re a liar.
