Will we give the Woke a good wedgie this week?

We need to provoke a few more liberals!

Politics was a contact sport in our great-grandparents’ day. A mugwump rode the fence; he was so two-faced that his mug was on one side and his “wump” on the other. A yellow dog Democrat was somone who would vote for a yellow dog if it identified as Democrat.

We suspect the yellow dogs will be howling this Tuesday in Dane County’s supposedly, non-partisan spring elections. If you object, you are dealing in what Scott Milfred of the WI State Journal calls “wedge issues.”

A growing chorus of Democrat-leaning pundits have been encouraging their party to step away from the A.O.C. and the Woke culture wars if they want to avoid an electoral bloodbath and more Glenn Youngkin victories.

➜ “Tamp down the rhetoric!
➜ “Can Dems dodge doomsday?

The cultural Left has managed to associate the Democratic Party with a series of views — on crime, immigration, policing, free speech, and, of course, race and gender — that are far from those of the median voter. — Ruy Teixiera

Not here in Madison WI, despite the encouragement of a certain former mayor who enjoys bicycling. Dane County Dems had no trouble endorsing Derail the Jail advocates Heidi Wegleitner, Yogesh Chvala, Jacob Wright, and Kierstin Huelsemann for county board. Progressive Dane endorsed all four — and only those four. But at least PD is upfront about its Defund the Police platform.

Oppose the jail!

Democrats have also endorsed cop basher Ali Muldrow for re-election to the Madison school board, seat #4. (“Police only want to criminalize black and brown students.” — Grumps debate 03-20-22) Ali is a delightful young lady who tragically substitutes identity politics for academic achievement, thereby hurting the kids she professes to champion, however well intentioned.

Hope Democrats are proud, too

Friday 04-01-22 during school hours

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 2:23 p.m. The victim reported he pulled into his driveway and exited his vehicle when suddenly two suspects (12- and 14-year-old males) pointed a facsimile handgun at him and demanded his keys. The suspects drove away in the victim’s vehicle but were apprehended shortly thereafter. — Madison Police.

Predict Blaska’s percentage of the Seat #4 school board vote!

Tells you all you need to know when John Nichols, advance man for Bernie Sanders, endorses Muldrow as “a terrific leader on the board and in the community.” Sure, “fights in high schools have been common, and police have been called in on a regular basis,” Nichols allows.  But it’s all Covid’s fault! Then again, The Capital Times does not come to the issue with clean hands. Along with other social justice warriors at Freedom Inc., it demanded cops be expelled from Madison’s public schools.

The board should vote to remove the SROs for two reasons. First, this shift in approach is appropriate and necessary. The arguments for it are strong. The arguments against are weak.

Blaska’s Bottom LineCan’t argue with reasoning like that only because it is so circular.

Whom are YOU wedging?

If Blaska doesn’t make a good showing I hope the voters go full retard and elect Joyner.

The faster the city reaches the bottom, the better (same for my stocks).

The two are not mutually exclusive. One can write in the Squire (Seat 4) and also vote for Joyner (or whatever moniker it appears on the ballot), if for no other reason than it’s opponent is endorsed by all the local media (cursed trans phobes that they are).

I remember this line well. It was in a regular, full length editorial, that determined that the arguments for and against were soooo strong, that it was not even necessary to list or explain them. You know, “give them the truth, and the freedom to discuss…..” oh never mind.

I am surprised that no one has suggested replacing “SRO”s with “EMT”s, to speed up the “School To “ER” Pipeline”.

I for one never gave anyone the right to text my private cell to ask pretty please if I would vote for them. Just wish they have the GUTS to just call with caller ID, but like I said…gutless.

    The rubber MEETS the road.

In perfect world, the results bereft Muldrow would be asked to HIT the road.

    Good luck, Blaska!
