A day that has lived in infamy

Finished reading the first of Ian W. Toll’s trilogy on World War II, Pacific Crucible. Takes the reader from Pearl Harbor to the Battle of the Midway. Puts you right there — on the ship, in the air. From both sides of the conflict.

Monday, December 7, A Day Of Infamy. marks the 79th anniversary of the Jap sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Funny how the names Arizona, Pennsylvania and Nevada have particular meaning all these many years later. May God bless the memory of those who were killed that day as well as the survivors, who grow fewer and fewer with each passing year.

I cannot begin to imagine what they must think of the nation as it is today, considering what they sacrificed so much for in trying to preserve it. The irony is beyond tragic that subsequent generations of their progeny are now actively embracing essentially the same ideology which that generation fought and died to protect them against. But here we are. (H/T: J.J. Sefton)

Unlike another “good” Democrat, … FDR, who locked up Japanese-Americans because of their race, … at least we’re not locking up Conservatives. Yet.

As a species, we are not highly evolved.

I think rounding up the Japanese was then California’s governor Earl Warren’s idea.

Let’s see, Dec 7… rings a bell. Anniversary of something. Hmmm, let me look at Drudge report: 17 articles about Covid, not one mention of Pearl Harbor. Let me look at other main stream media outlets… hmmm, nothing about one of the most important dates in US history. Sad. Does anyone question the desire of Big Media to steer the narative?

Front page of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today has a prominent article “The Last One Left”. Compelling narrative by a survivor from Wisconsin.

      Thanks Kooter, nice catch.
It is imperative for the creation of a news Network devoted to truth, reality, and the conservative perspective, along with new social media platforms that don’t selectively silence truth, reality, and the conservative perspective.

Dinesh D’Souza suggested to Trump that he create a news Network that would be a counter narrative to the smug, lying, deceiving, and ideologically driven MSM.
If done well would be a smashing success.

Toll’s trilogy is one of the best I’ve read. Writes so well, plus had access to long (too long?) classified docs. Gotta luv that a short time, relatively speaking, after Pearl Harbor, we kicked big-time butt at Midway.

Six months from Pearl Harbor to Midway.
      Imagine.

Had Japan NOT made the critical error of leaving aircraft repair hangars and fuel storage facilities intact, it’s been a whole different ball game!

Anywho, coupla months before Midway, The Gotch’s Dear late FIL (Colonel/USAF/Ret) trained some of the B-25 Mitchell aircraft pilots who participated in The Doolittle Raid.

Recommend “The Second World Wars,” Victor Davis Hanson, which puts together the whole picture unlike any other histories I’ve ever read.

      And the oil tank farms.
      Admiral Yamamoto’s words come to mind when we look at the Democrats/MSM/Washington Party currently;
“I fear we have woken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve.”

Thank god we had a president (a democrat) who rallied the nation and mobilized a force to defeat those responsible for the attack on Peral Harbor, unlike to day where as many Americans are dying
everyday as on this day of infamy because a president (republican) rolled over for the enemy.

You mean the same POTUS that allowed Pearl Harbor to get attacked, with the attendant death and destruction, to do an end around the Neutrality Acts AND put NOT ONLY children, but adults and the elderly in CAGESTHAT President…..?

Ah Lefty; so MUCH crippling hypocrisy, so little time!

For what enemy has President Trump rolled over? As for COVID, it is damn near a miracle that a vaccine is in the pipeline so soon? Contrast that to the polio vaccine, which took decades.

Can miracles be unsafe and dangerous?
Beware bigly of the *vaccine*that took months to develop instead of the usual 10-20yrs for this type of vaccine.

We don’t need no stinkin vaccine.
