Speak up for police Tuesday

Or quitcher bitchin’!

It is time someone called out BLM, Antifa, Freedom Inc., and their political arm, Progressive Dane. It is time our elected city officials heard from the rest of Madison WI.

The time to do it is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, 11-10-20. That’s tomorrow evening, for you folks in the Central Time Zone. The place to do it is at the Madison WI Common Council’s annual budget meeting, conducted on-line.

Our message: Add four police officers by accepting a federal COPS grant for a downtown Entertainment Zone Team that would focus on violence, property crime, and quality of life issues in the State Street area. Those four police only bring us up to the current level; they compensate for Mayor Satya’s cuts.

This is who the alders hear from

Don’t rely on the irascible proprietor of the Werkes to do it for you. You know that the Cop Haters will flood the zone with their urban myths of police hunting down innocent Black folk for the imaginary bounties.

Time to call out their hoaxes and outright lies

Like this one told at the Council’s last Finance Committee meeting: “The police are burglarizing our communities and killing Black and Brown bodies.”

Who is killing Black people in Madison? Not the police! It’s other Black people, unfortunately. (We’re not the ones making this about race.) How many more high-speed shoot-outs on the streets of Madison before another Maurice Bowman Jr. is rubbed out on Schroeder Road, or (more tragically) 11-year-old Anisa Scott!

Since Madison’s war on police heated up, shots fired up incidents through September were up 76% over a year earlier. None by the police. Like the 75 shell casings found outside the bowling alley on Grand Canyon Drive Saturday night 11-07-20. Two Black men seriously wounded; one near death. (More here.)

Memo to all you Brave Talkers

Time to step up to the microphone. Actually, it’s easier than that. You don’t have to leave your home. Tuesday’s council meeting is on-line. Register today for the Zoom session at https://www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingRegistration

When you fill out the on-line registration form, indicate you want to speak on Agenda Item #3. You will get up to 5 minutes to speak. AND: Write a note to mayor@cityofmadison.com and allalders@cityofmadison.com. Or just your own alder at district (insert #) @cityofmadison.com. Complete details here.

Blaska’s Bottom LineJust say “More cops” and alders will get the message. Maybe add: “and keep the streets open to traffic!” Some of us have to get places.

Are you going to do it or just sit there and bitch?

At least flood them all with e-mails and insert name and address. Just maybe some will get the hint. Just copy and paste if you like:
We need MORE POLICE not less. The only ones killing Black and Brown people are other Black and Brown people. And we need to keep our streets open and not blocked by illegal protests without parade permits. This is what the majority of Madison residents want. LAW and ORDER!!!!

Unfortunately, sittin’ home and bitichin’ will have precisely the same impact as voicing one’s concerns to the city council. Imagine the impact of some brave soul standing before the Politburo, circa 1935, and voicing his concern over Stalin’s purges and you have a pretty accurate picture of the impact of anyone criticizing the policies of the sanctimonious morons who run this town. They couldn’t care less about ordinary citizens’ right to use the public thoroughfares; their only concern is nurturing their carefully cultivated self-image as the champions of anti-racism.

Pure BULLSHIT Gary. Sorry, I couldn’t abbreviate that word this time. I think you need to either A)educate yourself on what it meant to speak up against Stalin’s purges in 1935 or B) “quit your bitchin” as David says.

Let us know what your choice was after tomorrow, OK? And ditto for anyone else who reads this blog and ignores David’s heads-up regarding this meeting.

Amos, Gary merely used the wrong analogy bigtime. In that era & that environment, protest would have been not only suicidal but would also involve the demise of family & friends. That said, we know what he was gettin’ at. Good point, Amos, about blog-readers and the heads up.

Thanks Dave. I think a lot of people are grateful that you provide this kind of information.

Last week someone asked “when is enough enough” regarding blocking Madison streets on Nextdoor.com and as usual it became controversial and then reported and then deleted.
Madison is swimming with sanctimonious, naïve, ignorant, intolerant, hateful, violent, proglibots. who are committed to subverting the existing social/governing order, rule of law, 1st/2ndAmendments, and will implement whatever means necessary. They have an awful lot of allies in media and a variety of power positions which is a primary reason the cancel culture thrives.

Madison will continue to circle the drain unless enough people take the time and energy to resist these anarchists but the problem is those who may want to resist have full time jobs, mortgages, and families to support, while the anarchists usually have a lot of time on their hands.
    A tough nut to crack…

Divide up the damages from these riots and hand the bill to those convicted of crimes and to the Politicians WHO ENABLED THEM.
If they have time to riot, they have time to GET JOBS and WORK for their food, instead of parasiting off of US.
Anyone engaging in DOMESTIC TERRORISM and attacking the FREE SPEECH of Americans ….. shall be BANNED FOR LIFE from receiving EBT/Food Stamps, Public Assistance, Unemployment Benefits, Student Loans, or any form of Government Aid.

I am very sorry, but ………
How nice — the longer the riots last the more money the PIGS the rioters are “protesting” MAKE!
The question is — WHY did the police protect antifa at Sturgis?
The police do NOT protect Conservative counter protestors.
The police do NOT protect honest taxpaying Citizen OR their businesses.
The police do NOT protect their own police stations.
But there they are protecting Bolshevik criminals.
    Smells to high Heaven.
    Padding their paychecks.
    Obeying order from TPTB.
Betraying their own people for a paycheck.
    =================
If they won’t protect their own police stations how likely they will protect YOU?
The government has NO obligation to protect you.
Self Defense is Your duty and if your MEANS of self defense are taken ……
Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.
The US Supreme Court has REPEATEDLY confirmed that the police have NO, ZERO, ZIP, Constitutional obligation to protect you. The police can stand right there and watch you be beaten to death and they have NO responsibility to lift a finger to help you. Just ask Reginald Denny.
” “On Tuesday, June 4, the village council awarded a contract to the —— County Sheriff’s Office for the supply of public safety services,”” PUBLIC Safety Services. ………………. NOT INDIVIDUAL Safety Services …… PUBLIC.
https://resistancetononsense.wordpress.com/2018/06/29/our-preexisting-irrevolkable-right-of-self-defense/ Among the numerous decisions/rulings, Warren v. District of Columbia basically sums it up ruling that a “fundamental principle of American law that a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen.“ In other words, police have NO OBLIGATION to protect anyone. Another seminal case establishing the general rule that police have no duty under federal law to protect citizens is DeShaney v. Winnebago County. Other cases include but aren’t limited to Castle Rock v. Gonzales, Davidson v. City of Westminster, Balistreri v. Pacifica Police Department, Hartzler v. City of San Jose, Linda Riss v. City of New York, Susman v. City of Los Angeles, Zinermon v. Burch and South v. Maryland such that it’s established ‘law’ that, quite simply, judicial remedies are not available for the police’s failure to protect any Citizen. In other words, if someone is injured or killed because they expected but did not receive police protection they’re simply shit-out-of-luck as the saying goes because the courts, including the highest court in the land, have ruled again and again, that law enforcement has no legal or moral responsibility to protect ANY individual Citizen. So, let’s put all this law enforcement “To Protect & Serve” fantasy land BS in the trash can where it belongs.
The only time they do have to protect you is if you are in their custody. So whom is the party they “Serve and Protect” if not the individual ? Your corporate masters , you bunch of slaves.

Having slept on this, I actually will not be asking the City Council for more police. The issue is
that the police we have are simply not allowed by the Powers That Be to do their job effectively and professionally in an evenhanded manner. You can have all the police in the world, but when naked partisan politics and ideology is central to the entire equation, then what’s the point? It’s just another waste of taxpayer money, no?

Reason with me here, Amos. More or fewer police is what’s on the agenda. Advocating for more police tells City Hall that we the people support the police. That their efforts to rein in the police are not acceptable. We need people to tell the Progressive Dane alders and mayor that we support the police. The budget opens that door.
