The Capitol building and grounds superintendent estimated the damage to the memorial at between $15,000 and $50,000. Gouges could be seen in several of the letters of the memorial Thursday afternoon. Damage to the lights and Capitol property totaled between $6,000 and $6,500, according to the superintendent.
King is also alleged to have been caught on video smashing windows at a West Mifflin Street restaurant that is not named in a complaint, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage.
Police say King fled across the Capitol lawn and changed his clothes in an attempt to evade arrest. In addition to the handgun, he had 40 rounds of ammunition and two bottles of whiskey in his backpack and brass knuckles in his pocket, police said. The sledgehammer was also recovered on the Capitol grounds, police said.
King’s supporters had raised more than $5,600 for him through an online fundraiser as of Thursday afternoon; he was released from jail Wednesday on his own recognizance.

Well now that’s exactly what I’d expect every “peaceful” protester to be carrying on them, it’s the bare essential ensemble for effective “peaceful” protesting. That ensemble includes excessive booze for turning sober cowards into a drunken towers of courage, brass knuckles to insert in the mouths of anyone who might dare to oppose the “peaceful” protesters immature rantings, a sledgehammer to erase awfully bad history, and of course a pistol with 40 rounds of ammunition to balance out the “peaceful” protesters ensemble.
Yup that’s the “peaceful” protester ensemble right there.

What these people are doing is already open sedition and subversion but I’m getting really close to calling what these people are doing an outright insurrection that’s actively trying to start a revolutionary civil war. They should be really careful what they wish for.
Madison judiciary is nothing if not consistent: you do the crime (in Madison) you will not do the time.

Frankly I’m surprised the police memorial survived undamaged until now. It represents every quality–courage, dedication, sacrifice–that the cowards and thugs of BLM so conspicuously lack, so it’s a natural target for their fanatical rage. The repair bill should be sent directly to the Madison mayor’s office.
