What the hell was going on out there?

… in San Francisco (actually Santa Clara) Sunday?

Everybody’s grabbing, no one tackling!

Sunday’s NFC championship game was painful to watch. Not as close as the 37-20 score might indicate years from now. About the 2019 Packers we can only say they may very well have over-achieved. Their 14-4 record (including post-season) was better than they played, meaning next year’s schedule will be tougher, the way the NFL schedules. Their draft position will be worse.

Deflated footballBeyond Davante Adams, who catches passes? Marques Valdes Scantling was last seen on a milk carton. Jake Kumerow gets thrown to only once per outing. Jimmy Graham is no George Kittle. Remember Geronimo Allison? Who is this Sternberger cat? Alan Lazard looks real enough.

The defensive cornerbacks are great and running back Aaron Jones is a load. Did anyone run on B.J. Raji like this Mostert guy did Sunday (01-18-2020)?

How many miles does Aaron Rodgers have left in the tank?

What a waste was general manager Ted Thompson and his horrible drafts. (Justin Harrell?) His refusal to go after free agents wasted Rodgers’ best years. Can’t get out of my head how a truly excellent team blew the 2014 NFC championship game it had won in Seattle in one of the biggest collapses in NFL playoff history. Rodgers’ MVP year. Capped off when an idiot named Brandon Bostick, instead of blocking like he was supposed to, tried to catch the Seahawks’ desperation on-side kick intended for Jordy Nelson’s sure hands.

At this point, the Packers’ most valuable players are head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst, who eschewed fan sentiment and allowed used-up Clay Matthews and Mike Daniels to walk in favor of the Jones “brothers.”

Couch Coach Blaska’s playbook: Packers’ greatest need? Another Jordy Nelson. And a capable, experienced backup at QB just in case. Another Ray Nitschke wouldn’t hurt, either. Can coaches even bark at players any more?

What do Monday morning QBs think?

Has there ever been a 14 win NFL team more excruciating to watch, game after game?
As an owner you let the hopes blind you to the reality. Really-, they had no chance out there yesterday. Poorly prepared. Did they watch the tapes of SF?
Our defense (except the Smiths, Clark & Martinez) ) cant tackle.
    The superstars drop interceptions. .
All those penalties. Offense & defense.
This has been going on all year. Every gut-wrenching week.
The young genius coach never did figure out how to get plays called so that Aaron would have a few seconds to glance at the defense. We’re lucky Aaron still has his head connected to the body.
    You’re right about Jones & Adams.They’re good.
I think Lizard is a keeper – and Krum too. But I’m afraid you’re right that Thompson dithered and may have let one of the best QBs ever rot.
    Some great years wasted away.

    Ugh.

First time I’ve seen Oatsie give F‘s (F + to the offense) across the board.

Defense didn’t set the edges, over-pursued, and got gashed; HORRENDOUSLY $#!tty tackling all around.

Offense should have been short/quick crossing & out routes to avoid the outstanding Niner front 7 rush, but was unimaginative, lackluster, and couldn’t sustain drives.

They should have used pre-snap motions to create mismatches and isolate Adams or Jones on LBs.

First coupla picks in the draft? Sheesh, where to start? Though high pick WR’s usually under-perform, they need to upgrade receiving. Adams is a possession receiver, & they need another downfield/homerun threat (especially at TE!).

It’d be nice if Lazzard were the guy, but who knows; less of a chance for G-mo. The Gotch was hoping Valdez-Scandling (MIA) and/or Equanimious St. Brown (season ending IR), both lanky speedsters, would step up, but…

Other than that, LB (Martinez is a FE), OL (especially tackle) because can’t see them bringing FE Bulaga back.

Good point about Raji (1st play as a Packer the 350 + pounder dropped into coverage!), you go farther, longer with a big fat $#!t anchoring the middle; think NE’s Vince Wilfpork (sic).

Another season in the books; the lucky Football has been returned to the Red Room locker and the neon Packer light (lit after every score) will soon follow.

Now we concentrate on Badger hoops and burgeoning B1G Ten banger Micah Potter, who’s been playing like a man possessed…with the pettiness of the NCAA.

Pack “Attack”? Too funny! The girls were man-handled on both lines of scrimmage. Thus, even an average RB looks great.
No hope for a few years, and maybe a decade. Here’s why:
    1. Rodgers now too immobile and is not a running threat. He can’t even evade sacks.
    2. both lines need several super-beasts
    3. more super-beasts at LBackers
    4. By the time you address 2 and 3, Rodgers will be sprinting with concrete shoes. Or, he’ll already be in the stands, watching.

Ferget GB. Toast for decade. Pick new teams — KC isn’t so bad.

The 49 ers were 4-12 last year; they had a $#!tload more rebuilding to do than the 13 Time World Champion Green Bay Packers have to do this off-season.

I worried about this possible match-up fer weeks. We have had no zing, even when NOT scrapin’ by fer a win. Defense-Offense positions, even QB need up-n-coming draft picks. Dang it, we had one game for the best performance by all to be a factor. Yep, gotta rebuild.

On the Bright side – Green Bay VS SF:
On Monday morning when the Green Bay businesses had to go out and shovel…
    they shoveled snow.
In SF? Yeah – they shoveled something else…
