Dane County is now a ‘sanctuary’ for trans folk

Opposition is ‘hate speech’?

Blaska Policy Werkes does not understand the WI State Journal black-out of 2023 Resolution 074 declaring Dane County a sanctuary for trans-sexual and non-binary people. Not a word can we find advancing the issue beforehand (as we did here) or reporting its resolution after (as we do now). [UPDATE: WSJ finally posted its report on-line at 6 a.m. 06-17-23.)

Suffice to say, it passed early this morning by a 25 to 1 vote, the one being Supv. Jeff Weigand, Marshall. Three more abstained (Kiefer, Ripp, and Downing). Doyle, Schauer, Hatcher, Kigeya, McGinnity, McCarville, Yang, and Hynes were absent. Eight absent? !!!

The meat of the resolution states:

If the State of Wisconsin passes a law that imposes criminal or civil punishments, fines, or professional sanctions on any person or organization that seeks, provides, receives or helps someone to receive gender-affirming care such as puberty blockers, hormones or surgery, the Dane County Board of Supervisors urges the Sheriff to make enforcement their lowest priority.

That roll call wasn’t taken until early this morning in a meeting that lasted 5 hours and 44 minutes — the last 4:32 of which was devoted to the trans-sexual resolution. You can watch the whole thing here but if you do, we don’t want to hear about it. The faceless bureaucrats here at the Werkes chose two excerpts of supervisor debate: Sup. Dana Pellebon, Fitchburg, in favor and Sup. Weigand opposed.

We were impressed with both as well spoken, future candidates of higher office. We disagree with Sup. Pellebon and agree with Sup. Weigand on the merits — children should not be allowed to make irreversible decisions about their sexual orientation until adulthood. Sup. Pellebon denounced the “hate” she heard at the meeting “designed to destroy the most vulnerable in our community.” We heard no hate, only disagreement on a divisive issue. Nor did we hear any “radical religious dogma.”

Supervisor Dana Pellebon in favor

Blaska’s Bottom Line: It is entirely permissible to tap into one’s religious faith in making policy decisions. That is what the First Amendment is all about.

Is YOUR dogma radical or religious?

Anyone making these life-altering, nearly irreversible physical changes suffer from Buyer’s Remorse?

    Yup.

You got to be 16 to get a driver’s license. 18 to vote, buy tobacco, credit cards and loans, and join the military. 21 to purchase alcohol. But changed “genders” at any age. Does anyone see anything wrong with changing at say age 5 or 15?
    Its not like changing toothpaste.

Ask the average 10-year-old what he’d like for breakfast (or lunch or dinner) and he’d probably say Twinkies and pizza; ask him how late he’d like to stay up on a school night and he’d probably say midnight; ask him what kind of car he thinks dad should buy and he’d probably say a Ferrari. But ask him whether he wants to stay a boy or become a girl and we’re expected by the loony left to treat his decision with the utmost seriousness.

Wait till the personal injury attorney’s get a hold of suing schools and hospitals for transgender surgery of minors. I hope the statute of limitations doesn’t run out before these institutions and individuals can be held accountable for what they have done.

“the Dane County Board of Supervisors urges the Sheriff to make enforcement their lowest priority.”

I for one am very disappointed they did not strenuously urge.

Maybe the Dane County Board should invite that trans woman who “performed” at the White House on “Pride Day” to come shake her bare tits in front of the City County Building. What a great role model for the kiddies.

In the past when great civilizations entered a period of decline and decadence, they did so with some style. We can’t even manage that.
