Sen. Tim Scott calls it ‘the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House’

WASHINGTON 02-07-26 —President Trump posted — and later deleted — a video on-line that included imagery depicting former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as apes, prompting swift condemnation from Democrats and Republicans.

The video was deleted late Friday morning, after the White House initially defended it, following calls from lawmakers of both parties to remove it.

The roughly one-minute video, which was posted on Truth Social at 11:44 p.m. on Thursday, features a narrator questioning the security of voting machines used in competitive states in the 2020 election. In the final seconds of the video, images of the Obamas’ faces on the bodies of cartoon apes appear. They bob their heads against the backdrop of a jungle as the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” plays.

Trump said he wouldn’t apologize for the post. — Wall Street Journal

Beneath a middle school, basement dwelling truant. Even more inexcusably, Trump now blames a “staffer.”

A Faustian bargain

At Sacred Hearts elementary school, Sister Mary would have worn out her sharp-edged Westcott© ruler on this sybaritic scoundrel.

The President’s serial and increasingly unhinged insults impose a heavy tariff. Just ask Eric Hovde, Tim Michels, and Brad Schimel here in battleground Wisconsin. All heavily endorsed by Trump Inc., all soundly defeated as more Republicans go RINO.

Blame the state party apparatus at your peril; the trend is national: Republicans are 0 for the last year. We’ve lost eight state legislative seats held by Republicans in states like Texas, Mississippi, and Georgia. We lost two governor’s races, allowing Virginia to flip blue. Vicki McKenna blames Republican voters for not turning out. Coca Cola should have blamed customers for not swilling more New Coke! Blaming “Fake Media” persuades no one.

→ The President’s most ardent supporters circled the wagon, gaslit us, and defended it. — Erick-Woods Erickson

Even before his latest slur, influential conservative Ross Douthat determined: “Donald Trump has lost the country.”

From the first days of DOGE through the debacle in Minneapolis, the Trump administration has consistently governed as if swing voters aren’t part of its coalition. And now, guess what? They’re not. … you just can’t have a transformative agenda …. if you don’t keep moderates and the general public on your side.

A call to conscience

Until Blaska gets the heave ho, this dues payer intends to circulate the following petition at next Saturday’s 02-14-26 Republican district caucus:

We, the undersigned Republicans of Wisconsin’s Second Congressional District, denounce President Trump’s racist portrayal of the Obamas as jungle animals and for heartlessly blaming Rob Reiner for his own murder. These are only the latest examples of the President’s destructive coarsening of the public discourse. It must stop.

We encourage all figures in the public eye to treat those with opposing views as participants in the contest of ideas, not as enemies or traitors.

We’ll let you know how many signatures we get, if any. Especially if Second District Chairman Billie Johnson signs.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: The fault lies with us Republicans, dear Brutus. Playing “Whaddabout” and “Look Over There” to excuse his every assault on common decency isn’t cutting it. The party of responsibility must act responsibly — that includes ending the paranoid “Stolen Election” conspiracy mongering. Admit we lost 2020 and move the hell on!

If Republicans crash and burn at the polls this November, it won’t be because Democrats out-worked us or because they have better ideas, it’s because his enablers issued too many pardons to the vulgarian in chief.

Is it time to invoke Amendment XXV?

Polymarket odds of Blaska having “the big one” in ’26:

    Through the roof.

Rob Reiner is fair game. This video thing was a staffer’s mistake.

Great sycophancy! Who hired the staffer? Did the staffer think he was pleasing his boss? Remember when the Buck Stopped at the Resolute Desk? (Good Times.) Yeah, Harry Truman was a real President.

Do you even know what happened? I swear you are the right’s version of Brett Hulsey.

This thing was first portrayed as if the White House posted the whole Obamas as apes video. I thought holy shit we’re about to bomb Iran and this is a distraction. Well, no. Later found out the truth. Are you even interested in the truth anymore?

I think not. I’ll leave you to flail.

        1. David Blaska Avatar

Do YOU even know what happened? Blaming the President’s ugly post on an account he owns on a “staffer” is so lame no one but a groveling sycophant would buy it. In any event, has the President apologized? No, he has not. What you don’t realize is you’re helping the Left by defending the indefensible. You are an enabler.

The Staffer should be named, fired And the President should issue an apology, in person. Chief of staff should review all X posts from now on.

That’s an interesting take on the video considering 47 would not apologize for it when asked. So, yes, you can go ahead and blame it on the staffer. What a douche thing to do.

Who wrote the posts before and after the video? Was that another staffer? Does this mean that all posts from now on, no matter how stupid will be blamed on another un-named staff member?

And thanks for your contribution to the “destructive coarsening of the public discourse. It must stop.” Stop it!!

The bigger new here is how the lamestream pearl clutching corporatist press reported this. They had fantods about the Obamas having their heads on ape bodies for about 2 seconds (of a 60 second video) that also featured over 20 other prominent Dems and other fellow travelers with their heads on animals (Hillary Clinton as a Wildebeest and Rosie O’Donnell as a sow are especially masterful). The musical score is the Token’s 1961 The Lion Sleeps Tonight and features Trump’s head on a lion wandering around. Crude? Yes. A goad to the perpetually outraged? You bet! Racist? Hardly.

Gordy: My favorite image for our time will always be DJT as the Orangutan-in-Chief. My second favorite is that drawing depicting the severed head of The Donald held up for the cameras by comedienne Kathi Griffin, causing an interruption in her career. She made a comeback during the Biden administration. Don’t know what she’s been doing lately.

We’re in a bad place where you expect more of Kathy Griffin than the President of the USA.

I have no confidence in President Trump to fulfill his duties to the Constitution and to the United States. He does provide rich fodder for cartoonists. I take comfort in knowing that this is Mr. Trump’s final term in office.

Who is this “staffer” and why do they have access to his online accounts? What can keep them from posting something that sends us to war? Who’s in charge? Now they are caught up in lying. No amount of Leavitt screaming at reporters will fix this. Next you will be telling us that this video has raised the black voters support of trump to 99.9%. Now you’re telling us that the BIG NEWS is that it was reported and SOME people are pissed off. I don’t see trump saying he found the staffer and they were fired. Do you? what wound you do?

      1. David Blaska Avatar

And we’re in a sad place where we give Lesiak ammunition to use against Republicans. Or maybe it was one of Lesiak’s staffers.

Onse DEI became the logical extension of everything being RAYcist…. nothing is racist. Played out. Over.
I’ll say it again; we had two African students spend a year with us to attend school in York, SC.
When they were going home I asked if they’d seen any racism here. Both said no.
Funny how some people see it everywhere.

This reminds me of the monkey-pox “controversy” of a few years ago. When this malady first appeared it was called “monkey-pox” because it originated among a species of monkey in Africa. Then the language police decided “monkey-pox” was racist because in the minds of some (the same people getting their undies in a bunch over the “racist” WH video) monkey=black person. So the aforementioned police informed us that the corrected version was “m-pox”–a term almost as laughable as “Latinx.” So it seems the president was up to his usual m-shines when he posted that video.
