We’ve got our own B-Bobs in the Republican party. No one spins like Florida Man’s hard-core base. Call them Timothy Ramthun’s 6 percenters. One even defended their hero’s supper with Kan-YE (of little faith) West and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes as “reaching out.” These are the same people who believe Hugo Chavez jiggered our voting machines, that John “Fifth Amendment” Eastman is another Justice John Marshall, that January 6 is all Nancy Pelosi’s fault, that Mike Pence betrayed America, and that the My Pillow Guy got it all figured out. Anyone who disagrees is a RINO!
They’re parroting Florida Man’s Dog-Ate-the-Homework excuse. Fuentes was just some guy who came to dinner with Kanye West — as if THAT invite could be excused!

We’ve all gotta remember something very important about Donald Trump; in the mind of a full-blown narcissist, like Donald Trump, any publicity that draws attention to himself is great publicity in his mind. Positive publicity can be repeated verbatim and negative publicity can be used to claim that he’s being unfairly attacked by the political left; therefore, both conditions keep Trump in the forefront of people’s minds and in Trump’s mind, that’s a good thing.
If the media would stop feeding the trolling beast, that is Trump, he’d simply wander off into the sunset to find the next obsession that feeds his narcissism.

Actually it’s the correct advice for dealing with that kind of narcissist but it’s not politically feasible because the political left would never do something that’s actually good for the country but would probably be bad for their power grab. Donald Trump is the evil the Democrats have been looking for to take down the Republican Party and put the Democrats in total, permanent and absolute power.

Republicans need to nominate someone other than Trump, but then Trump would probably run as an Independent and suck votes away from the Republican candidate. At this point in time I see the 2024 Presidential election as a lose-lose for the Republicans unless Trump swallows his narcissism, completely walks away from the seeking the Presidency very soon, stays out of the limelight and keeps his loose-cannon mouth shut.
Of course Trump could endorse and campaign for President Biden in 2024 if the Republicans piss him off too much, that would turn the race on it’s head with no predictable outcome. 😉

It seems different this time. Now that he is politically weakened, reluctant former bedfellows are emboldened to cut ties. Kevin McCarthy just kicked him to the curb. He is running out of friends. As he slowly self-destructs in a desperate attempt to attract attention, more and more will feel free distance themselves at least.
The threat to split off as an independent is an empty threat. Know why? Money. Trump isn’t nearly as wealthy as he pretends. He sure as hell isn’t in the same league as Perot or Bloomberg. two guys who actually COULD self-finance. Trump isn’t even a billionaire. which is why he has guarded his tax returns like a junk yard dog. He’s not cheating on his taxes, he’s losing money! Word is he’s got nothing but losses for over a decade. As a CPA, I can tell you that there are tax strategies where losses are “good” to have around, OCCASSIONALY. But losses are only good if you have prior OR later gains to offset. Eventually you have to make a profit, and ten years is a long time. The deep Republican pockets have cut him off. Trump will continue to give them all good reasons leave (maybe dinner with David Duke this time.)

In my younger years (a long time ago), I also thought Democrats were the better of the two choices, albeit not by much. I’ve now seen enough examples of the big league bias and bullish!ttery that dominates major news media and entertainment to know this isn’t true, and that Democrats are at least as bad, and in many ways worse. It’s much easier to conceal and downplay your faults when you have a sympathetic press on your side that is all too willing to amplify your narrative and smear your opponents.

Okay Mark, I have an honest question that could put some of your comments in perspective. I see some of your comments as waffling between supporting Trump and not supporting Trump. Looking back at this thread I’m not sure, but I think some of your statements were intentionally facetious.
So, was your statement “there is only one party and it hates Citizen Trump” and “why should I vote for Republicans” full tongue-in-cheek sarcasm?
Knowing this (because it’s not fully understood right now) will definitely change how your comments are perceived.

Guys, the biggest threat to my liberty, our troops, our cops is the DC Swamp. Only Two men, in my lifetime have gone against it. Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.
Trump did a better job of this one goal because he exposed its depth and reach.
During Reagan’s tenure we had the CCP as a common enemy of both parties. He failed to reduce the nascent Swamp but he limited its rate of growth.
Both men suffered slings and arrows, almost beyond belief. But they withstood it and God Bless ’em for it.
Both had the CEO kind of brilliance in that they stated their goals and did a good job against huge odds in pursuing them. Reagan took office with three goals: Revive and rev the economy, defeat the USSR and reduce government. Two outa three of such herculean tasks ain’t bad. But nostalgia don’t butter no parsnips.
Trump said he wanted to make America great again. He might have borrowed Reagan’s strategy about the Soviet Union, “Simple. We win, they lose.”
Trump won on immigration, reversing self defeating trade deals, reducing taxes, getting great growth in GDP, repatriating offshored capital and jobs and exposing the corruption the Swamp. He brought huge judicial victories, best in my lifetime.
You want to exile the man? Read about the life of Winston Churchill. As the First Sea Lord he had to wear the tragic British loss at the Battle of Coronel in 1915. That was not really his fault but then he executed the disastrous Gallipoli defeat and was forced to step down.
The anti Trump phenomena, if applied to England in the 1930’s, would have denied Britain its Churchill to lead them in their finest hour.
We used to admire such leaders.

Cannot allow anyone to compare Florida Man to Winston Churchill. What was Churchill’s reward for winning WW2 — he was (as he said himself) “given the order of the boot.” Did not contest the election, did not encourage an insurrection, did not lie about losing. Did not host anti-semites for lunch. Did not surround himself with crazies in the clown car. Saved his invective for the Axis leaders, not his own countrymen. And yes, I have an entire library shelf of Churchill books.
