Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Driving the clown car of fools

You’re losing when we’re laughing!

The most entertaining segment of Thursday’s 07-21-22 House Committee investigation of the January 6 insurrection was its takedown of Always Trumper Josh Hawley.

The committee showed video of the Republican senator raising his fist in approval as he passed Trump rioters seeking to overturn the 2020 election. He did so from a safe position behind a line of embattled Capitol Police. Moments later, the Senator is shown running for his life as Trump’s mob invaded the Capitol. The Committee even replayed the video in slow motion!

The pool telecast of the hearing didn’t capture it, but Hawley’s fleet footwork drew a round of laughter in the committee room.

The latest excuse

The current party line among Always Trumpers is that Their Hero offered the National Guard to Nancy Pelosi for January 6 but that she refused. So it’s all Pelosi’s fault! As if the Speaker of the House had veto power. At least there is some recognition that 01-06-21 was more than an AARP bus tour of the Nation’s Capitol.

Inquiring minds might wonder why Trump thought calling out the military for his Stop the Steal rally might be necessary. If he did, since there is no real evidence of such an offer or her refusal. To demand more logic of Trump’s True Believers than they are capable, if Trump recognized the likelihood of mayhem, why did he fiddle for three hours and seven minutes while Rome burned? U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger called it: “He chose not to act.”

Despite the urgent pleas from virtually everyone in the White House orbit save the valet and Melania, who was vacuuming the carpet. Even the kids, Ivanka and Don Junior, and Trump sycophants Laura Ingraham and Sean Trumpitty. Maybe they’re RINOs, too. If so, their numbers keep growing.

Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff: “You’re the commander-in-chief. You’ve got an assault going on on the Capitol of the United States of America. And there’s nothing? No call? Nothing? Zero?”

Republicans In Trump Only (RITOs rearranged spells RIOTs) accuse the Head Groundskeeper of desiring Joe Biden’s high gas prices — as if shredding the Constitution via a coup d’etat is a small price to pay for relief at the pump.

We’re not laughing with you, Senator Hawley. We’re laughing at you — and Always Trumpers like WI gubernatorial candidate Timothy Ramthun (polling at 3%), Sidney Powell (Hugo Chavez jiggered the voting machines!), Roger Stone (the guy with the Nixon tattoo), Steve Bannon (“It’s going to be wild!”), drunk Rudy, the My Pillow Guy, Mike Gableman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the horned QAnon shaman, and other Election Deniers.

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Trump didn’t need to seize the wheel of that clown car. He was driving it from the get-go. We’re enjoying the slow-motion crash and burn.

Are RITOs in too deep to change course?

Joseph Epstein in the Wall Street Journal:

“Mr. Trump is also responsible for Joe Biden, who may go down as among the most ineffective presidents in American history. Mr. Biden won 81 million votes in 2020. Yet who can doubt that roughly 50 million were votes less for him than against Mr. Trump, whose relentlessly rebarbative style pushed his accomplishments into the shadows?

One (perhaps the only) advantage of Biden’s presidency is that ordinary Americans, many of whom voted for him after swallowing the lie of his being a moderate, have gotten a taste of life under a progressive regime–i.e., an authoritarian dystopia. And they’ll still have that taste in the back of their throats when they vote later this year. I suspect voters for years to come will remember being suckered by Democrats who have abandoned any allegiance to this country and its foundational values in favor of their radical, soul-less ideology. Democrats’ only option is to dream up another bill of goods to foist on the American public, but their sales pitch will fall flat after bitter experience has shown us what progressivism in practice is really like.

    For what that’s worth.

    1. Sorry, trying to save my Republican party. I’m tired of Benito Trump trying to overturn our elections. He’s still at it and we’re 20 months out from that election. How about he quit trying to defeat fellow Republicans like Brian Kemp and Robin Vos?

Read the law. Ballot boxes were illegal and gave advantage to the communist party.

Trump won. Cheaters are disqualified. That is a fact.

        1. Love it when pure assertions are followed by declaring “It’s a fact.”

It’s not a fact, it’s an opinion. No ballots were disqualified. City council makes my street a one-way from East to West but the street crew puts up signs directing West to East. I follow the signs, however mistaken. I don’t get a ticket because I had a right to trust the directions given.

BTW: “Ballot boxes” are not illegal. You mean ballot drop boxes. In any event, how many Trump ballots were dropped versus Biden? You don’t know and neither does anyone else. All we know is real ballots were cast by actual voters whose signatures checked off against voter roles. Or has Mike Gableman found something after all and only you know about it?

    2. It really would be nice to not talk about Trump any more. But he (Trump) doesn’t seem to like being ignored. That’s why he will likely announce his candidacy before November. He cannot stand that he is not on the ballot. So he will put himself on the ballot, and the Dems will LOVE him for that. How do you think they got 81 million people to vote for a brain dead soon-to-be octogenarian? Trump was the only reason Biden got elected. Let’s not have that be the reason Kamala gets elected too. She’s got lower approval numbers than Joe, but Trump could get her elected. He is toxic. Give it up.

He demands Wisconsin overturn the election he lost and calls Speaker Vos a RINO for not doing the impossible. This is all within the past 10 days. He is poised to wreck GOP mid-term prospects by announcing for President — partly to stave off Ron DeSantis and partly to stave off criminal indictment. We need Kevin McCarthy and Mark Meadows to turn state’s evidence against the MAGA caudillo. THEN we can concentrate on Nancy, Chuck, and Uncle Joe.

        David,

Please let me explain why I have some doubts on the election results. I grew up right outside of Newark, New York City, and Chicago. Chicago was the best, as the Daily machine had voter fraud down to a science as there were a lot of non-existent and dead voters who voted for Daily.

Have you read the WISCONSIN VOTER FILE ANALYSIS by Jeff O’Donnell?

        Click to access jeff-odonnell-wisconsin-registration-indicators-and-warnings-final-v4.pdf

They say that figures don’t lie but lier’s can figure.

The oldest person on earth right now is 118 years old. How could it possibly be that in 2020 that we still had nine people still registered to vote when they were 120 years old or older? How is it possible that we had 121,000+ people registered to vote when they have been registered for 110-119 years? Remember, the voting age did not go down from 21 to 18 until 1971.

Why did Walter Jankowski II of Waunakee vote in the 2020 election when he has been incapacitated since the 1970s? How many other nursing home residents are voting without even knowing they are?

How did a shuffling old man who campaigned from his basement while Trump filled stadiums with his rallies win 81,284,000 votes? How did this shuffling old man win 11,785,484 more votes than Obama on his first term?

I guess my point is that we need to clean up our voter rolls and make sure that only the people who have the mental capacity to know who and why they are voting for, vote.

And that dead people don’t vote!

I dunno, Bill C., but go over to the student wards on campus and you’ll see the same thing. If it helps, Wisconsin law provides:

“No person may be denied the right to register to vote or the right to vote by reason that the person is alleged to be incapable of understanding the objective of the elective process unless the person has been adjudicated incompetent in this state.”

I also have my suspicions of WI Reps. Janel Brandtjen and Timothy Ramthun.

I’ve put my name on the ballot, testified at public hearings, wrote op eds for the Daily Urinal. Got hooted, jeered, doxxed and damned. Brought lawsuit against the school board and the city council. On County Board, ended welfare for able-bodied, childless adults. Posted 100 “We Support Police” signs on the Capitol lawn. Supported Act 10. Advising campaign for a new law ‘n order sheriff. I’m down here fighting the good fight. YOU?

So do not accuse me of failing to fly the Republican flag, which — to my mind — means upholding the Constitution, win or lose. Trump had his days in court. His own campaign managers tell him he lost. His own AG, even his daughter. NO evidence of fraud has been found, so his last desperate gambit is to wind up a crowd of Trump-deranged hooligans and send them after Mike Pence with a noose.

    2. Having doubts about the integrity of every single vote is one thing. Suggesting that the electoral results were changed, is another.

I am certain that some fraud did occur. I am certain that Mark Zuckerberg’s $10 million doled out to liberal Wisconsin mayors had a large, negative impact for Trump. That OUGHT to be illegal, but it wasn’t. Same with some of the vote harvesting. The “Democracy in The Park” was illegal, but the votes were not illegitimate. Those people were going to vote anyway. But none of this suggests that Donald Trump didn’t LOSE. He did. You want to blame somebody else? You can blame the 50,000 Wisconsin Republican voters who did not pull the lever for Trump if you like, but in my mind, that is all on Trump. He purged the party of those horrible RINOs like Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney John McCain, the entire Bush family and half of his former cabinet members. At the end of 2020 there were organized groups of Republicans campaigning against him. What does it say when every Republican presidential nominee since 1988 probably didn’t vote for him?

That’s how you get to be a LOSER.
