It’s called a Mexican stand-off. The Republican party is facing off with itself these days due to Mr. Orange’s failure to win — or overturn — the 2020 election and leadership’s fears of calling out his constitutional perfidy. Will the party survive?
Mr. Orange and his co-conspirators blame RINOs — like his former vice president and attorney general. “Just like Bill Barr and the rest of these weak people, … Mike [Pence] did not have the courage to act,” #45 said just two days ago. So much for moving beyond January 6, fellow Republicans. Donald Trump won’t let us.
Just as some nonagenarians refuse to this day to believe that Alger Hiss was a communist spy, many Republicans will go to their graves believing bamboo ballots and jiggered voting machines stole the 2020 presidential election. Mounting evidence to the contrary, to them, is evidence only of the enormity of the pederastic Deep State.
“Leaders” like Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy are afraid of these people. The Always Trumpers make stupid noises and flood party conventions out of proportion to their numbers. Vos appoints a dunderhead to ferret out voter fraud that he well knows is vapor. McCarthy thinks he needs Loren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, et al to become House Speaker, forgetting what true leadership requires.
“It is wishful thinking on the part of Trump supporters to dismiss the hearings on the grounds that most Americans didn’t watch them,” Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan writes. “It will further damage Mr. Trump’s standing.” Noonan points out that Trump could triumph in a field of 17 Republican hopefuls in 2016 by getting only one-third of the vote. Trump was incredibly lucky in his Democrat opponent. The unlikeable, manipulative, and ethically challenged Hillary Clinton was the only candidate Trump could have beaten.
‘Wouldn’t it be nice if he just went away’
Former federal prosecutor and true conservative Andrew McCarthy agrees. “There are two poles in GOP politics right now: a) the too-gradually eroding pro-Trump faction that punches above its weight in intra-party matters and b) the preponderant but diffident “wouldn’t it be nice if he just went away.” …

Fox News political analyst Brit Hume said this 06-13-22 about the Republican majority:
They’re afraid of his supporters and don’t want to come out against him directly. But they’d like him to go away. If the effect of this committee is to make his possible candidacy go away, I think a great many Republicans would privately be very glad.
Peggy Noonan’s Bottom Line: “In this atmosphere a normal upstanding Republican or a normal accomplished conservative would beat whatever the Democratic ticket is. It is only Mr. Trump who would surely lose. … America isn’t going to elect him again.“

Good article. Except I don’t agree with the opinions that Trump can’t win. I do believe he will run and if he does, he I predict he will win. That’s my opinion, unchanged from 2016 when he entered. But that depends on if other strong Republicans announce. Desantis and Pompeo are strong, no one else is. There is a huge other side of this argument that you could explore. Those rational people who predict he will run and win. A lot of who is saying that are not MAGA disciples, but remember what what he did. We’ll shall see. I’m not part of the “Always Trumpers” group, but looking to take back our country at all cost.

I’d be careful making predictions about Trump’s “electability” that sound like retreads of the predictions from 2016. If Trump was lucky in his opponent in 2016, he’d be twice as lucky in 2024. Biden? Please. And who else is on the Democrat horizon. Beto? Mayor Pete? Kackling Kamala? Pocahontas? If he runs, I’ll vote for him, but I’d prefer to see someone more stable, like DeSantis or Pence, at the top of the ticket.

She also said when your drowning let go of the anvil. .Grifterman needs to be shut down now. Over a million of taxpayers money and nothing but bad press. Vos keeps extending this mess and throwing more money at it. Who’s going to be paying that 2 grand a day fine? My guess; you and me. I’m all for Desantis as the next President of the United States. As I am writing this, I am watching the lame stream media tell us that there is a clear and present danger in the people on the right to overthrow the 2016 election and perhaps elections moving forward. The lame stream media is
trying to paint many republicans who are running for office as those who support former President Trump.
They are now trying to paint those of us who are conservatives as being violent. All of this coming from a January 6th committee that is made up primarily by those on the left. This all the while while we have evidence that purportedly shows that our current President has showered with his daughter, Ashley Biden, yet crickets from the lame stream media on that.
We have even seen evidence that reporters who were looking into that allegation, had their houses raided by the F.B.I in order to take away any evidence of Ashley Biden’s allegation about her father, Joe Biden.
Was this ordered by Merrick Garland or Joe Biden?
Just imagine if President Donald Trump had done something similar. The press would be constantly harping about this breach of the 1st Amendment and the presses right to question our leaders. (And rightfully so.)
Even Walter Chronkite would come back from the dead to report this breach of journalistic integrity.
Yet crickets from our lame stream media.

How is it possible that according to CBS News: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/joe-biden-popular-vote-record-barack-obama-us-presidential-election-donald-trump/ Biden got 81 Million more votes than Obama when Obama ran for President in 2008. CBS reported that Biden got more votes than any Presidential candidate in history.

If so many people so overwhelmingly voted for Biden, by a factor of 81 Million more votes than Obama got in the 2008 election, then why is everyone in the room ignoring Biden and focusing in on Obama?

You need work on your reading comprehension skills Bill. Biden DID NOT get 81m MORE votes than Obama. Obama got 69m; Biden 81m. The 81m was 51.3% of the vote. Trump got 46.9% of the vote; 74m. Also beating Obama’s total of 69.5%. It’s called turnout buddy. If Biden did what you’re saying his total vote would be 150m. An impossible number. Trump lost because he is a nutjob, con man fool. Get over it. The rest of your post is nothing more than some rightwing nonsense from websites run by crazies. Except basement Biden did not get 81 million legitimate votes. How many fraudulent ballots are acceptable to you? How many forged, counterfeited, harvested, out of state, underage, non citizen, duplicate, computer switched votes/ballots are acceptable? If you say “zero”, you are correct. If you say “whatever it takes to win,” you have condoned election fraud which is what the Democrats did. Biggest heist in American history.

I stand corrected. That’s what happens when you work too late and get up early. But, for the record, Biden got 80 million votes in his first run for the Presidency. Obama only 69.5 million in his first run for Presidency.
So I ask again, why does Joe appear to be the odd man in the room that no one wanted to talk to when Obama was working a room of people who were very glad to see him?
