Progressives are ‘high-IQ stupid people’

They just don’t listen!

Madison WI is always a few years behind the West Coast but we hereby declare the Progressive wave to have crested; it is finiti, kaputt, deader than Vladimir Putin’s soul.

In the Wake of Tuesday’s 06-07-22 elections, San Francisco and Los Angeles voters said they were willing to be ruled by liberal Democrats, Peggy Noonan writes. What they won’t accept is being ruled by progressives.

Censorious and hectoring enforcers of the cancel culture, the arrogant Marxist-inspired bastards would establish the gulag given time. Violence, disease, and burning cities are their leave.

“Progressive politicians have been around long enough running cities that some distinguishing characteristics can be noted,” Ms. Noonan advises.

One is they don’t listen to anybody. To stop them you have to fire them.

• Another characteristic: They are more loyal to theory than to people.

• A final characteristic of progressive politicians is that they tend to be high-IQ stupid people. … They don’t understand that if an 18-year-old is repeatedly arrested for assaulting people on the street and repeatedly let go, his thought may not go in the direction of, “What a gracious and merciful society I live in, I will do more to live up to it.” It is more likely he will think, “I can assault anyone and get away with it. They are afraid of me.”

The end of the beginning

Three of these — Jael Currie, Nikki Conklin, and Juliana Bennett — were elected Madison WI alders in 2021.

We date the beginning of the Progressive hegemony’s end
as November 2021; that’s when the voters of Minneapolis voted down their city council’s Defund the Police post George Floyd. Also that year, Eric Adams was elected mayor of New York City, replacing the Woke Bill de Blasio. Virginia elected a Republican governor who outed critical race theory. Noted scribbler Andrew Sullivan observes that the Washington Post has amended the boilerplate favored by reporters even here in Madison: CRT is “not taught in K-12 classrooms, though the underlying ideas are part of lessons and policies in many places.” (Take note, Wisconsin State Journal.)

Andrew Sullivan contiunues: In the popular culture, the scolds are retreating. … The great Dave Chappelle is doing a new show with Chris Rock. Ricky Gervais and Bill Maher have challenged trans extremism — and thrived. …and the Depp/Heard defamation trial revealed the actual truth of domestic violence: it goes both ways.

Tucker can’t handle the truth!

We conservatives have our own missionary work. A Facebook “friend” believes Ashli Babbitt was “murdered” and that Police “invited” the woman and fellow insurrectionists into the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Why they needed to smash windows and bash police he cannot say. If progressives are censorious, so are Tucker Carlson and Sean Trumpitty. Here’s Jonah Goldberg:

Tucker Carlson believes the January 6 committee really is a big deal and that he was scared of just how newsworthy it might be — particularly to his own audience. How else can you explain the fact that his show ran for the whole hour without commercial interruption? … He couldn’t risk people flipping channels while Seb Gorka droned on about Relief Factor … to check out the hearing — even on Fox Business [which did carry the House committee].

Jonah Goldberg’s Bottom Line: “I don’t know what he thought we’d hear [Thursday] night, but he clearly thought his viewers had to be spared even a moment’s exposure to it.”

Who else is afraid of hearing both sides?

Here is how stupid progressives like our current idiot in chief are.

He closed down domestic oil production and stopped construction of the Keystone pipeline. Instead old Joe is wanting more and more oil from the middle east and south america.

Did you know that one oil tanker consumes 16 tons of oil or 508 gallons of fuel per hour. That is 12,192 gallons of fuel oil per day. It takes on average around 47 to 50 days for the tanker to go from the middle east to the east coast of the U.S. That is 609,600 gallons of fuel oil for a one way trip.

They have practically closed down our economy, ruining many lives in the process, making us all pay way, way more at the pump and for all we purchase at the store.

That’s how smart progressives and their policies are.

This is a pretty astute comment. The Madison schools are run by some very (academically) smart people. Yet they can’t even manage things like getting proper contracts out or getting teachers for summer school. Why on earth should we listen to them on issues involving kids?

Having lived in Madison for a long time , I think the thing that made Madison work was the conflict between liberal and conservative voices. How long has it been since that has been a thing? Once you are in a situation where one group of people can do whatever they want, all their bad ideas actually happen. Madison is pretty far along the curve as far as that goes but we still can get much worse. And we will!

    It gets worse.

Take a look at the out-migration patterns in Baltimore, FREEattle, Portland, San Fran$#!tshow, et all; in ongoing, mind-numbingly clueless efforts to FUBAR once beautiful cities by trying to make them better, Lefty succeeds only at converting them into crime infested cesspools.

You’ll never guess what happens then:

Unfortunately, many of those fleeing these hell holes will still follow their voting instincts in their new hometowns in red cities and red states and start replacing relatively sane elected leaders with the same type of progressives that they left behind. We have had that happen in my hometown on both the city council and the school board. The emigrants relocating from progressive cities are like a virus infecting a healthy body.

We give Kass an 11 on a scale of 10. But even he says the election was not stolen. Trump was no more conservative than Ronald Reagan but Reagan neutralized Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Tip O’Neill, Ted Kennedy, and Sam Donaldson with his charm. Reagan was also graceful in defeat, as in 1976. Reagan was Barry Goldwater while Trump mooned after the Clintons.
