Reaping the whirlwind

The high-powered political listening devices here at the Werkes detect alarming degrees of intolerance. If you’re not on board with Trump and the insurrectionists, you’re a RINO. Works that way on the other side of the fence, too.

The Woke Left has no patience with Joe Biden, a cafeteria Catholic who can barely utter the progressive blessing: the word “Abortion.” Madison’s Democratic Socialists are blasting the Democratic Party for “putting forward dead-end ‘solutions’ … while they continue to support the anti-abortion members of their party in Congress” Near as Ol’ Sparky (our Eisenhower-era mainframe computer) can figure, that’s just one guy: Joe Manchin, D-WV.

Never mind, even Nancy Pelosi’s mansion is being picketed.

Guess that’s what Chuck Schumer meant about “reaping the whirlwind.” Twisters are not terribly selective about what they damage, because the Senate majority leader blesses the same tactic against the justices.

“Insofar as public officials are the proper object of protest,” Michael Brendan Dougherty writes at National Review, they should be protested at their public offices, or at their public appearances as the holders of those offices, not at the place where they put these roles down to be fathers, mothers, spouses, friends, and neighbors.”

That’s how Madison’s Hard Left defunded school resource police officers. Freedom Inc. F-bombed then-school board president Gloria Reyes’ home with bullhorns at evening time. (BTW: Reyes is considering running for mayor.) Now they’re after Dane County’s district attorney for … enforcing the law.


The socialists are agitating for high school kids to walk out at 2 p.m. Friday 05-13-22 to protest the Supreme Court’s expected decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health. Rally on UW-Madison library mall at 3:30 then march to Capitol.


When did Ismael Ozanne turn racist? After prosecuting black people, according to our adversaries at Freedom Inc. One of their “activists” was arrested for threatening the  district attorney with physical harm. Following the Saul Alinsky playbook, Freedom Inc. is demanding charges against Jessica Williams to be dropped, “for all Black survivors of domestic violence and abuse to be released from the Dane County Jail, and for District Attorney Ismael Ozanne to resign immediately.”

Williams was nabbed as she entered the courthouse on the morning of Friday 05-06-22 to attend a sentencing hearing for Kenyairra Gadson. Williams, the Tone Madison publication reports, has been leading Freedom Inc.’s campaign to spring Gadson, convicted in January of reckless homicide. In the courtroom, William apparently called out “Ismael Ozanne, we’re coming for you! You better be ready!

Freedom Inc. calls this “political advocacy.” (For readers in Ulan Bator, activist Williams and criminal Gadson identify as black. But so does D.A. Ozanne, a progressive empty-the-jail Democrat in good standing.)

Blaska’s Bottom Line: Abortion advocates have no lack of venues to express their opinions. They have reserved parking spaces at the New York Times, MSNBC, and NPR — for just three. Shouting “You better be ready,” F-bombing mom at her house, and spray painting threats on the pro-life building is not protected speech any more than a ransom note.

    They would pass by my house as I’ve got a get out of jail free sign in my front yard. It reads:

    “In this house, we believe:
    – black homicidal violence is a human right
    – the current thing is Putin’s fault
    – fiat money is doing just fine (repeat)
    – Epstein and Elvis are both alive and well
    – it was an insurrection! “

      All the signs proclaiming black lives matter, trans lives matter, in this house we believe …, we stand with [fill in the blank]…., etc., etc. one sees scattered like spring dandelions in the yards of upscale lily-white neighborhoods around Madison convey the same message: “Our sh*t doesn’t stink.”

    The Gotch suspects public school Faux Self-Esteem curricula and never hearing the word NO has left them no rational conflict-resolution skills; when they don’t get their way, Rule of Law be damned, they claim they’re Triggered and if they whimper inconsolably-n-loudly enough, the fact-based Reality will relent….with Safe Spaces, canceled classes/work shifts, soothing hot cocoa, warm cuddly stuffed animals, and enabling grief counselors.

    They’re laughably ill-equipped to debate issues, so they instead pound their dainty widdle fists and stamp their smelly widdle feet. When that doesn’t work (and it doesn’t with adults) they resort to extra-legal efforts because…welp…just because.

    Only a matter of time before they try to intimidate the wrong person.

    On the bottom line, neither “side” to the abortion debate holds the moral (or any other) high ground.
    Huffing and puffing today over pro-choice protesters who politely picketed Justice Kavanaugh’s home rings hollow when there was silence when pro-choice protesters surrounded Planned Parenthood’s clinics and screamed at young women, at one of their most vulnerable moments in their lives, and who were not public figures, that they were murderers. Nonetheless the pro-life’s response to their brethren shooting and killing doctors who perform abortions: that while it was wrong, they should have understood that they brought it on themselves.
    Or to flip to the other side to make your point, those pro-choice advocates who yesterday reviled those pro-life protesters outside clinics find nothing wrong today with their brethren protesting outside justices’ homes.
    And, though there is a good deal to ponder when you call here for a basic level of civility within the bounds of custom in political debate, we do inhabit a country that achieved independence in an illegal revolution, which would seem to make that standard rather shaky from the get-go, even though our founding fathers never picketed Buckingham Palace.
    As another example that continues to haunt me, in 2008 at the nadir of the financial meltdown that led to the Great Recession when millions of people had their lives destroyed due to the evil machinations of a few in the nation’s biggest banks, and THE system was rigged to prevent justice from being done by prosecuting those responsible. Obama, the archetype of hje respectful advocate appointed Lanny Breuer to head the Criminal Division at DOJ who publicly professed to be fully investigating the matter, but later was revealed to have directed his staff to make no prosecutions, which meant the system, at a point when it was most stressed, was rigged to reward theft and screw Main Street.
    I wish an had THE answer, but don’t. What you present as simple and open and shut is in fact complex, and neither side has demonstrated consistent nobility.

What alternatives do the pro-abortion fanatics offer these young women?

Let’s see; walking around WalMart with an AR, threatening Psaki and her family, shooting Asians, killing abortion providers, burning PP clinics Jan. 6, you get the picture. Try taking away a woman’s right to control her own body and you’re in deep s#$t. Save the pearl clutching; it’s getting old. Alito stepped in it. The court is locked down and said they have the power to NOT say who the leaker is. Total horse c#$p, but you know how power works. I bet you a large pizza delivered to your house that the leaker is a conservative whose name will never be released. Where’s the FBI? Why only an inhouse investigation? The only thing worse to watch is Gableman’s circus.

      Ultra-MAGAs shooting Asians? Really? Once the media realized they couldn’t keep disguising the fact that the vast majority of attacks on Asians was perpetrated by young black men, that little fantasy suddenly lost its sheen. Ditto for random assaults in NYC’s subways.

          Here are some questions that need to be asked before one can determine how to interpret the “facts.” How many women of all races were shot in Texas today? What percentage of those were Asian? Does that percentage exceed the percentage of the Texas population that’s Asian and female? Has it been established that the Asian women in question were shot because they’re Asian or for the many reasons (apart from race) that people are shot everyday in this country?

    I’ve said it before on this blog and I’ll say it again.

    If you do not believe in the right of the people to peacefully assemble in the public square to express their opinions and hear other opinions on the same subject, to listen, to learn, to be educated by both sides, we as Americans have forgotten our heritage.

    Just think, where oh where would we be as a country if we were not allowed to speak freely when the king of England was determined to keep our citizens as a part of Britain back in 1776? Would the Declaration of Independence have ever been written if our citizens were not allowed to write it?

    Why in the Declaration of Independence did they write in part: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.-”

    As an aside, count the number of times they referred to God in the Declaration of Independence. They did so 4 times.

    Anyway, why was the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution the 1st Amendment?

    Why were the words: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” written in the manner in which they were?

    Our country was built upon the principle that we have the right to freedom of speech. Many have fought and died for that principle to be upheld. For their sake, don’t spit in their faces and shit on their sacrifice that they so willingly made so that we all could be free to express our opinions.

    What would the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King say if you did?
