Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

‘A sleeping giant has been awakened’

America’s schools are being held hostage!

As we detailed in the last thrilling episode of the Werkes, Democrats are in full panic that they’re losing the soccer moms to Republicans. These mothers, often from affluent suburbs like Milwaukee’s Mequon and Thiensville, deserted the louche incumbent President in 2020. That explains why Trump lost Wisconsin by roughly the same hair’s breadth he had won four years earlier. And why Democrats are panicked!

The progressive scribblers at The New York Times retaliated by going nuclear on the housewives of Mequon-Thiensville who are recalling four members of their Woke school board. Any development inimical to the progressive project — as is resentment over the foisting of critical race theory hate onto young children — must be recast as a cynical Republican reaction to win elections. They hope it will be enough to pull Terry McAuliffe over the finish line in Virginia November 2. The Times’ original headline:

‘How Republicans are weaponizing Critical Race Theory ahead of midterms.’

When the old Democrat(ic) warhorse proclaimed, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach,” he was reciting the progressive belief in rule by expert.

We get that there are no farmers but …

Is there any doubt that the radical left runs Madison WI’s public schools? Look at our school board. Where is the shopkeeper, the real estate agent, the construction worker, insurance salesman, business executive? Maybe one among the seven. In order of appearance:

Seven Madison school board members

  • School board president Ali Muldrow* is co-director of the Gay/Straight Alliance for Safe Schools. (Voted to expel police.)
  • Found no employment for Savion Castro but fought efforts to punish university students who shouted down campus speakers.
  • Ananda Mirilli*,  education equity consultant at WI Dept of Public Instruction and former racial restorative justice coordinator.
  • Nicki Vander Meulen, attorney for juveniles.
  • Cris Carusi*, events and communications manager, American Family Insurance Data Science Institute.
  • Christina Gomez Schmidt, director of enrichment at Galin Education.
  • Maia Pearson is state director of something called “Rise,” which insists “black America and people of color continue to be victims of unjust violence at the hands of police.”

* up for election next Spring

→ Committee to rename Madison Memorial high school (named for author of U.S. Constitution) meets 5 p.m. 10-27-21
→ School board to vote Monday 10-25-21 to stop suspending elementary school troublemakers.  Meeting starts 6 p.m. on-line.

Biden’s AG targets parents

“A sleeping giant has been awakened,” former U.S. Rep. Peter King announces at The HillKing theorizes parents saw what was being force-fed to their children when the Covid-19 pandemic forced distance learning from home: critical race theory, gender equity, trans-gendered pronouns, and the 1619 Project.

Even former Madison mayor Dave Cieslewicz, a dues-paying Democrat, admits Democrats made a mistake by expelling police from our troubled high schools. (Read it here.)

The Democrat(ic) party has its fingerprints all over white privilege, boys in girls’ bathrooms, and America bashing. The New York Post asks, “When does an attorney general “make a high-profile public announcement that he’s ordering his minions to get on top of a purely imaginary danger?”

The simple truth is that the education establishment across America (sometimes pushed by politicians) has been embracing CRT for some time now, albeit usually under the label “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.”

Blaska leaves the Bottom Line to Rep. King: “This cannot be good news for Democrats, who will have to play defense on all these issues while being compelled to explain why the Biden administration has sicced the FBI on parents who publicly protest school policies.”

How will YOU save Madison schools?

Kudos to the parents who are speaking up, but like always it will be a few doing all the work while the majority sit back.

You ask, how will WE save Madison schools? No offense, DB, but why would people (especially those without kids) want to stick their necks out only to be subjected to harassment or worse? Why should I care more about kids’ education than their own parents?

It would be one thing if the people of Madison truly wanted change in the schools, but I’m just not seeing it. The giant HAS awakened, but apparently not in Dane County, unless you know of some movement we’re not aware of?

    Just being realistic here.

Do you really believe moderate thinkers, or at least those who prioritize education over wokeness have a chance to win a school board seat in Madison in this environment?

Even if they do, would they actually do anything substantial? Not seeing anything great coming from the current “moderates” on the board.

    3. Our question is not rhetorical. We’re looking for courage. Yeah, you might not / probably won’t win. You WILL be called names, for that is what progressives do. But you will be speaking the truth, you will be helping our most disadvantaged young people escape the clutches of the Woke mob.

        DB,

This is an issue you are passionate about so if you want to put yourself out there, especially knowing what awaits, then you have our greatest respect.

That said, not everyone is as zealous as you are about this topic, so there’s less motivation to put one’s self through the harassment and abuse.

I also think that by now most people know the truth. If they don’t, they’re either radicals who you can’t reason with or are people who don’t care enough to be bothered to know. The rest are Democrat politicians who don’t want to offend their base, people who agree but are scared to speak up, or phony limousine liberals.

I strongly feel that the parents have to be vocal on this issue. These are THEIR kids who are being impacted. Not to say regular citizens like yourself shouldn’t speak out, but if parental instincts won’t kick in even when their kids are being subjected to hell, there is something very wrong.

MMSD is actually proposing to BAN Madison parents from opting their kids out of the worst of the schools’ ideological indoctrination.

No need to wonder why the Madison school district and the city sewer system literally share the same acronym, MMSD.

The curriculum is toxic waste and garbage.

I wonder if the Dems get what they have coming to them despite the “bags of unverified ballots” collected in parks by who- knows-who — even the nonpartisan audit bureau points out that this and the “drop boxes” are highly inappropriate per election laws.

Will they realize the error of their ways, or double down, cry harder, and call the voters “terrorists” as well as racists??

The answer to your last question should be apparent to one and all. Part of the problem is rhetorical: the “progressives” currently engaged in wrecking Madison schools aren’t progressive, they’re fanatical. They’re so blinkered by their ideology that it’s an exercise in futility to try to debate with them (our host–with his history of being shouted down, threatened, and bullied at school board meetings–would no doubt agree) let alone dislodge them from power. I, for one, can’t envision a scenario in which a sane moderate could be elected to any office in Madison, especially the school board.

To your last line: It depends.

The limousine liberals, spineless “moderates”, and phony political wannabes will probably get silent and / or move, taking their rot with them.

The fanatics and true believers will probably double down, etc. because I’m not sure they’re capable of reason. How DO you reason with people who think this is ok? Could care less what adults do, but to target impressionable kids is warped.

I’m thanking God and Mitch McTurtle that Merrick Garland never got a seat on the SCOTUS.
Merrick Garland is taking political weaponization of the DOJ to a whole new level. It started with the National Association of School Boards, (NASB) asking the DOJ for protection against protesting parents. You know, those parents who have objections to making gender fluid racists out of their children. They should know that what schools choose to teach their kids is none of their business, … just ask Terry McAuliffe.

    Luckily, the NASB’s teacher’s union backers have been paying for influence for many years. Now they’re cashing in their chits for a little consideration. The NASB has asked that the DOJ/FBI treat misbehaving parents as domestic terrorists, with the full capabilities of the Patriot Act brought to bear. Just image how that conversation went;

NASB: Angry parents are making us feel threatened. We think they fit the DOJ’s new criteria for domestic terrorism. Can you do anything to protect our delicate sensibilities?

Merrick Garland: How about I have the FBI run interference for you? That’s right in their wheelhouse.

NASB: That would be perfect. Can you really do that without that thing Bill Barr was talking about, … a predicate?

Merrick Garland: Easy. I’m already drawing up the warrants. Now is there anything else I can do for you? Would you like to see the parents’ tax returns? I can have an IRS associate help you with that if you’d like.

Regardless of what’s causing parental pushback, we’ve got a lot of wannabe totalitarian tyrants feeling threatened these days. It’s almost as if we’re seeing an epidemic of domestic terrorism.
My God, some of them are even carrying signs saying that they disagree with government officials.
Don’t they understand that they’re inciting an 1/6 style insurrection?
They’re even chanting, “Let’s go Brandon.” (aka: FJB.)

But here’s the thing: Just because a person feels threatened, doesn’t mean they are threatened. Reality trumps the delusions of whimpering frightened snowflakes every time. Your feelings are not grounds to cancel parental rights. No American has a right to feel safe.
They have a right to be safe, … especially from unwarranted government intrusion.
    (H/T: John Green).

    This is most certainly true.

Did you see Jim Jordan take down Garland?

“Three weeks ago, the National School Board Association writes President Biden asking him to involve the FBI in local school board matters. Five days later, the attorney general of the United States does just that — does exactly what a political organization asked to be done. Five days,” Jordan emphasized.

I am just about to the point that for this alone Merrick Garland should be arrested, tried, and sentenced to federal prison for abuse of power against American citizens exercising their constitutional rights.

I do not say this lightly, but I believe he is potentially a traitor to the United States.

Thank God for Turtle Mitch for preventing that extremist from getting a lifetime appointment to the US Supreme Court.

          AC,

In all my decades, don’t think I’ve ever seen such a BLATANT abuse of power by the government against the American people. To see an office that is meant to uphold justice for ALL and that WE pay for, being weaponized like this for political purposes is nauseating. No American should be celebrating this.

I feel like illegal migrants are treated with more regard than we as American citizens are.

Not a fan of the Turtle, but agree with you!

If Garland is “potentially a traitor to the United States,” what about the rest of the Biden/Harris crew? Garland is only one traitor among a whole horde currently in charge of the United States. If the patriots of Jan. 6th had succeeded, we wouldn’t be in thrall to them and their authoritarian agenda. At least those who bravely stormed the citadel of this malefaction had the guts to DO something instead of sitting around tsk-tsking as the republic goes down in flames.

Hmmm, I seem to recall that all of us taxpayers, and I do mean ALL of us, through our federal and state income taxes contribute to this thing called Shared Revenue. Which means that each and every one of us who pays taxes to the federal and state governments, pays to support schools in the entire state and country as a whole. So, being that you and I are forced to pay for schools in each and every district across the state and country, I think it only appropriate that we have a say so in what is being taught in those schools.

To me, the scheme that is being foisted upon us is kind of like going to a restaurant and asking the waiter for a Brandy old fashioned and they bring you a glass of water instead but still charge you for the Brandy old fashioned. When you complain to the owner of the restaurant he calls the police to have you arrested for complaining and the police make you pay for the Brandy old fashioned despite the fact that all you got was water. You are then prosecuted for complaining about being given a glass of water when you asked for a brandy old fashioned. You then have to pay a fine and serve jail time for the temerity to complain about getting a glass of water while paying for a brandy old fashioned.

Would any of us Sconnies put up with this? I think not! Would the police even bother to respond to a restaurant owner who was complaining about us not wanting to pay for water? I think not! Would any prosecutor in Wisconsin prosecute you for complaining about this? I think not! If a restaurant did this, would this restaurant stay in business for more than one day? I think not.

So why do we taxpayers put up with this crap?

Let’s vote the bastards out of office! All of them. They are acting like little Hitlers.

Under shared revenue, those of you who pay taxes have the absolute right to question what is being taught to our students in any school in any school district anywhere in the country. This despite the fact that you might not even live in that state or have a child of school age or any child at all.

This is America! I was born Free. I will live Free! I will die Free!

American citizens can speak in any way they see fit to their government bodies, provided that speech falls within the parameters of the first amendment. If they want to raise their voices, that’s their prerogative.

They have every right to be upset. Their kids are being indoctrinated with racist and sexual filth (see the Twitter link above) and some are victims of violence and rape as school admins do nothing about it.

You know what DOESN’T fall under the first amendment, Richard (may I call ya’ Dick)? Crazed leftists rioting, attacking police officers, setting fire to government buildings, looting, and harassing people who disagree. They don’t get a pass because they’re upset. We all get upset about things but don’t act like that.

Anyone who compares parents speaking loudly to school boards with Antita and leftist type violence and harassment is an idiot.

Holy Balzac, my man. Good snag, Liberty. My mom was a docent at the Elvehjem for decades. Never a concern for diversity there, it’s implicit –just an honest effort to promote the arts. Never saw an overwhelming group from the Black community trying to advance the knowledge, scope and… value of art.

Think Elvehjem and other museums will take AI’s lead?

The AI could have easily incorporated more diversity without alienating people who are already supporting it. This move is racist.
