Evers diverting 100% of the new J&J vaccine to teachers to appease his union masters. “Not enough” cry the “no more risk than average population”* teachers, many of whom have no schedule set to actually return to a classroom this year.

I used to have so much respect for teachers, but how do you respect a group of people who refuse to work as kids are deteriorating academically and emotionally, seem fine with bullying tactics, and indoctrinate children?

Absolutely shocking and shameful story out of Baltimore which has been run by left/liberal Democrats for a half-century.
H.S. student there is nearly in the top half of her class….. with a 0.13 GPA (no that is not a typo) and has passed 3 classes in 4 years!
She like many of her classmates is Black.
This is below shameful. This is hard-coding a permanent Black underclass. If one didn’t know better one would think this was intentional and implemented by the KKK. Nope — here is the outcome of left-liberal progressive Democrats and “educators” controlling a historic, once-great American city for a half-century, destroying its potential future.

The issue is somehow these minors will be allowed to graduate with a diploma. Unfortunately, one-side of the aisle is perfectly ok with these results because it allows them to implement down is up rules for society. It is not about using the gifts bestowed upon us to better oneself and society.

Where are the parents with the pitchfork mobs, Queen of Peace School, next week goes back to 4 days a week starting Monday. So glad left Madison 8 years ago. Message to anyone who has and cares about their children’s education, get out of MMSD as quickly as possible. Waunakee, McFarland, Oregon, Verona and Middleton will welcome you with open arms. Property Taxes on similar sized homes in MMSD and Verona we $2000.00 dollars difference in our favor. Do you really think you are getting more bang for your buck as they say.

Where are the parents, indeed. My guess is they’re so terrified of being called “anti-education” or having their legitimate concerns about their children’s welfare characterized as “far-right hatemongering” that they’re willing to sacrifice their kids’ education and mental health to the left-wing ideologues that run the teachers’ unions.

This is basically a virtual strike.
Thousands of public schools throughout Wisconsin have been open for in person for 6 months, as have countless private and parochial schools — including in Madison.
Call it what it is: inexcusable abdication of duty. Also nearly criminal denial of legal (constitutional) rights to a public schooling. One city thumbing their nose at taxpayers, parents, and children who are being deprived of learning.
The usually loudmouth Madison school board is silent while all children are denied in person learning — ironically this is “baking the cake” almost permanently locking in inequities that will follow marginalized and of color students for their rest of their lives.
Many students will NEVER catch up and almost every single liberal loudmouth is either silent or in favor of this virtual teachers strike. Many taxpayers look the other way or just don’t care while they pay skyrocketing property taxes for nothing.
In the future I’m sure all the failed outcomes will be blamed on white men while the School Board of Women of Colour allowed this to happen.
Anyone who strikes illegally should get terminated and replaced by someone who actually wants to do the job in the classroom.

It was once said by Joseph Sobran that “In 100 years we have gone from teaching Latin and Greek in high school to teaching Remedial English in college.”
I think it is now fair to say that in less than 100 years we have gone from teachers who wanted to teach, to teachers who will find any and all excuses NOT to Teach.
I wonder what would happen if we ALL followed the “science” the teachers are using to justify not going to work?
Just imagine if everyone had the same attitude.
People who work in Grocery Stores won’t work because they are afraid of getting covid. Doctors and other medical staff refusing to see patients let alone operate on them, because they are afraid of covid. Police and Fire Departments just letting crime go on, and buildings burn because they are afraid of getting covid. The people who work at power companies, phone companies, internet providers, banks, credit unions, even radio and t.v. stations all refusing to work because they are afraid of getting covid. No more movies, no more sporting events, no more places of worship, no more restaurants and bars, no more.
The real issue here is that this is not Science, this is attitude. It has Nothing to do with the Facts!
If this virus was so deadly we would have scads of people working in ALL of these other places and those who teach in public schools in other communities, plus those who teach in private and parochial schools in this community, dropping over dead.
But they are not!

Who do you think is smarter about a virus? Teachers or Pulmonologists and Virologists?
Teachers go to school for 4 years and may do 1-2 years of student teaching after college in order to become a teacher. Pulmonologists and Virologists do 4 years of college, then 4 years of medical school, then 3-7 years of fellowship before they become a Pulmonologist or Virologist.
When I hear the teachers want to go out on a “sick out” because they don’t want to possibly be exposed to covid, I am reminded that Pulmonologists and Virologists go to work each day at hospitals and clinics to help patients with their medical issues. I am also reminded that other Doctors go to work each day in clinic or hospitals in order to help others in need of medical help.
So, what I hear the teachers say is that they know more than Pulmonologists and Virologists and therefore won’t go to work at the school they teach at because of covid.
Do they really think that they are smarter about covid than the people in the NIH or the CDC?
Do they really think that they are smarter about covid than the professors who teach pulmonology and virology to those who aspire to be Dr’s of Pulmonology and Virology?
I am also reminded that many of us folks with no college, like me, have to go to work each day, and not from home, so we can put a roof over our heads, food on our plates and hopefully save up enough to retire someday.
