Never a never-Trumper.
What happened to the chairman of the Fond du Lac Republican party when he said Donald Trump lost Wisconsin fair and square?
To Rohn W. Bishop, the Republican Party’s entire post-election posture had been a disaster — from challenging the results to the House Republicans’ defense of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a peddler of QAnon conspiracy theories. …
On social media and email threads, Republicans called him an “idiot,” an “asshole” or — the one that bothered him the most — a “RINO,” for Republican In Name Only. (“A lot of these people who like to call you a ‘RINO,’ they don’t do anything,” Bishop said. “They listen to talk radio all day and they think they’re Karl Rove.”)
Rohn W. Bishop
Bishop’s supporters, including elected Republicans in the county, began hearing talk about an effort to unseat him as party chair. …
Bishop was not a never-Trumper. In Waupun, where he grew up, he lined his driveway last year with Trump signs for supporters to take home. He helped register new voters for Trump, held a campaign training at his house and distributed campaign literature and miniature Trump flags.… But Bishop is also steeped in a party … whose story and values Bishop sees as bigger than any one man. ….
Politico: ‘In Wisconsin, there are reasons to think that at least some segment of the Republican electorate is prepared to look past Trump. … Of the state’s five Republican-held House seats, the Republican running — and winning — in each district in November outperformed Trump in his district.’
Nobody in Fond du Lac County knew what to expect when the county party met for its annual caucus in early February. Were the Trump loyalists going to mount a challenge to the local chair who dared to question their leader? …
The Bottom Line: Bishop was reelected unanimously. No one even ran against him.
The only conservative Republicans have managed to re elect was Ronald Reagan who was convinced by the party faithful to put in the Bushes, not exactly populists.
The poster boy for RINO? Paul Ryan for whom I voted with far more enthusiasm than I did his dolt of a running mate. Paul had a ten year glide path to a balanced budget then shepherded a few “Omnibus spending bills” to pump more swill into the swamp.
The Washington Party found his price in record time.

Why would a Conservative ever want to elect a RINO, a TDSer NeverTrumper or a member of the Jeb! Wing of the Rockefellar Republican party? That’s what we have Democrats for.
I’m heartened by Paul Skidmore’s 25 vote victory over Nino Amato.
Madison’s Common Council still has one Conservative on board.
I’m saddened by the news of Rush Limbaugh passing today. He was heaven-sent. He really did have “talent on loan from God.” Rush made you think and affirmed and voiced what many of us were thinking. His loaned talent has been called home to God. RIP, Rush, my friend.
You were a good and faithful servant.

Because you want to win elections? Trumpites lost Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, and just barely held on to NC.
In 2022. The Republican seats are up in PA, MO,NC, and OH. States that are actually purple. Trump brought out a lot of people to win in Ohio, MO, and North Carolina.
But he won’t be on the ballet. He won’t be able to create the kind of numbers that his endorsement will drive to vote for the democrat.
You are dooming the Republican Party to Whig status. Like Lindsay Graham said “ if we nominate and elect Donald Trump, he will ruin the Republican Party and we will have deserved it”
We a center right nation not a far right nation. You may not like RINOS, but independents do and they are the ones that swing elections.

Indeed.
Sickening to hear so many slobby leftists cheering on his death. What miserable, barren group of people.

I hope he can pull it off in April.

Same collection of nasty unhappy people who wished death on the First Family last year after the positive Covid tests. Same crowd who egged on the months of “mostly fiery” ‘peaceful’ protests by anti American Marxists and fascists.
They are no doubt huddled in a corner right now having severe Trump withdrawal symptoms almost like hard drug addicts unable to get their fix.

It’s not just unknowns doing this and it’s not happening in a vacuum. Academics, magazine editors, pundits, etc. are publicly gleeful over tragedies that befall conservatives.
Every conservative I follow denounced what happened on 1/6. Still waiting for the left to condemn the anarchy displayed ALL SUMMER. Every conservative I follow offers words of condolence when a liberal figure (like RBG) passes.
In my experience, leftists as a group are classless and mean-spirited. These are the same people who have the audacity to talk about unity when what they really want is submission. They preach to the rest of us about morals when their own are in question.
“They are no doubt huddled in a corner right now having severe Trump withdrawal symptoms almost like hard drug addicts unable to get their fix.”
Exactly! They desperately need someone to hate. Their TDS really is a sickness, although I haven’t quite figured out if that sickness is mental or spiritual.

Anybody else travel from MDSN to MILW via the mInd-numbin’ Interstate in the 90’s? Proof that the Earth is FLAT! Then you’ll know how welcome and unusual Rush’s “new” program was. Kept me (each 3rd day trip) & fellow travelers on the roadway alive & awake . Perhaps later he got a tad strident, but still presented a thought-provoking and cogent premise. So what’s w/ all the hate MSM and Progs send his way since he died? How typically gleeful & petty, as if they had a man or woman his equal. Had he passed in Trump’s WH time left, perhaps he’d have laid in state somehow. Dems’ would prefer a Potter’s Field in Kansas.

“Is one man the Republican party?”
No. But then again, it’s not about Trump. Never was. It’s about challenging the status quo.
People are tired of do-nothing Republicans who may sound nice but do little to push an America first agenda. RINOs are those who miss chance after chance to make meaningful change on things like big tech, hedgefund grifters, and illegal immigration, then become wealthy WHILE in office.
Paul Ryan “sounded” nice, but in the background he was sidling up with the likes of hedgefund vulture, Paul Singer. How moderate is that, really?
This is precisely the kind of stuff people are sick of and precisely why Trump won. Are good manners really more important than results?

I love seeing those who dislike the so called “cancel culture” tripping over themselves cancelling culture.

Not sure what you’re referencing, but we’re not “tripping over ourselves” to cancel anyone. The left started with this viciousness. Do you expect people to just sit back and take it?
That’s the problem. The left thinks conservatives will always take the high road and takes advantage of that goodness.

Geech, Yer myopia comes to the forefront once again. It would be swell if you had an original thought sometimes, rather than lip-syncing worn out Lefty bromides. Perhaps it is easier to troll here -than to convince your own party’s blog-sites that they should allow you to spew your twaddle. Be that as it may, you’re always welcome here for a few gigglehoots.
