Yes, if you MUST stop at a cross street, it is always a good idea to squeeze off a few rounds of suppressing fire against the carjackers. This enables you to complete your turn and safely proceed.

In the not too distant past, sub-zero temperatures/wind chills made for a quiet night on LE blotters, disgusting POS miscreant thug-wise.

What’s changed? Disgusting POS miscreant thug’s NEEDS aren’t being met…

It’s not really about “needs”, is it? It is really just an entertaining game, being played against civil society. (If only there were a system in place to apprehend, detain, call to account, and force them to face real consequences?)
The truth is, you could leave your car “running, unlocked and unoccupied” with 99%+ of Madison citizens, without a worry. “Common sense tells you to live your life guarding against the other >1%. If your home is infested with rodents, “common sense” might seem to say not to leave food on the counter, when it is really saying to get a mouse trap.
(That is, until Progressives implement a “mouse trap oversight committee”, 3/4ths of the members consisting of mice, half of those having prior trap experience.)

So; by your logic the lefties steal cars because you righties are to stupid to lock your doors. Am I right?

No, Rich, you are wrong. By my logic, thugs, whose “life goal” is to prey on other people, need to be stopped. (unless the Progressive ideal of “restorative justice” means accepting, enduring, and forgiving such behavior)
Don’t try to defend indefensible actions.
By YOUR logic: Old men like us deserve to be robbed and beaten (“too stupid” to stay locked in our homes.)—Women deserve to be raped (“too stupid” to wear chastity belts, and “lock it up”).—Libs who try to show kindness to their daughter’s “troubled” boyfriend deserve to have their brains blown out (“too stupid”, what? to not be armed, and kill him first?)
There once was a time when people trusted each other, because they looked out for each other. But no more. Special interest, “us against them”, tribalism is the Progressive way of the future. —–Trust No One (but politely, so as to not offend the criminally inclined)

No need to jump the shark panty. The issue is car theft. As Dave pointed out in his own way…LOCK YOUR FRIGGIN’ CAR. Droning on about “special interests” and “tribalism” does nothing. Stop leaving your cars unlocked, running, with a gun in the glove box. Simple fix.

Off topic (as Richard AKA Dick may complain), But certainly relative given the ages of the “youts” involved in the afore-mentioned thefts, and MMSD’s posture:

“During a special meeting on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Board of Education will consider an amendment to the 2020-2021 budget that would reduce 133 positions from the LAUSD Police Department, including 70 sworn officers. The LAUSD Police Department had a 2019-2020 budget of $70 million.

The officers at secondary schools would be replaced with a new “climate coach” role, in addition to psychiatric social workers, counselors and restorative justice advisors.”

Also, not a good look for new Chief Barnes, who in his 2nd presser avowed to assign car thefts as a priority. Cain’t stop ’em if’n ya just let ’em go, but the DA and Judges have their own mystifyin’ logic in that regard.

Looks to me that we don’t have a “gun control” problem as much as we have a car theft problem. Strange how the government thinks that the solution to people illegally using guns is to license people in order to carry or even have a gun at their own home, (see HR 127: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/127), when the thug class clearly has shown that sometimes they don’t bother to even be old enough to drive a car in order to steal a car.

If you’re referring to Governor Earl—-err, Evers’ “Delusions of a Drunken Sailor” budget…. let’s hope so!

One of the most ridiculous state budgets EVER proposed. 12.5% increase over his own budget just 2 years ago, with a massive 1 billion tax hike.

All this during a historic pandemic that may last 2 years or more?

Did he ingest LSD before proposing this??

        Adam,

You are speaking truth to power with that statement. Talk about a giveaway of money by the people who are not in power to those that are in power, in order for Evers to get re-elected.

The education establishment must really be happy with this proposal. I mean talk about a give away to those who have not done anything for the better part of a year or more. Have the public schools even been open? If they have, for how long? Why are we paying for non-performance? Why am I paying teachers and administrators especially in Madison and Milwaukee to sit on their ASSESS and do NOTHING while I go to work everyday!

It makes me sick to see the teachers crying about having to go back to work. I’m 63 with underlying health conditions. I work in a health clinic that has been open for the almost the entire time the pandemic has been here. I am potentially exposed to covid every day I go to work; in fact I’m going there as soon as I’m done writing this.

Wow, his budget is right out of “High Times” magazine, which I just found out is still being published. Haven’t read it myself for quite a number of years but it appears that Tony the Taxman Evers is. And by the amount of increase to the budget, I think you’re right; he must have ingest LSD before proposing it.
