Donald Trump: a successful Presidency, a maddening President

The great lesson of politics: ’tis better to be likable than right

Source: Andrew McCarthy in National Review

Joe Biden should get the chance to be a good president that Democrats never gave Donald Trump. For Biden’s sake, and especially for the country’s, the departments and agencies of government should prepare for a smooth transition of power. …

The right way to look at Trump’s unlikeliest of triumphs was as a gift . . . and an opportunity. It was a chance to appeal to Republican skeptics and the vast middle, to do the hard work of changing a 46–54 deficit [his vote versus the vote for someone else] into 54–46 support, Trump had the policies to do that, along with a unique way of appealing to voting blocs who’d tuned out traditional Republicans.

Yet the president could never get over himself. …

He was under siege more than he deserved to be, but he brought a great deal of it on himself by gratuitously punching down at non-entities he should have ignored. …

He never seemed to understand that, in a country where we like to like our president, when your policies are more popular than you are, you’ve got a problem.

In a prior post I made the following comment.
“You do realize that you have already lost your 1st Amendment rights by the Dem’s finding extra ballots for Joe at 3 am in the morning in many parts of this country that are strangely heavily blue areas like Madison and Milwaukee, Atlanta, Detroit and so on.”

To back that up, listen to this interview on the Epoch Times with Dr. Paul Kengor on the statistical impossibility of Trump being ahead some 600,000-700,000 votes in Pennsylvania Tuesday night but lost in Pennsylvania due to absentee ballots by Wednesday morning. That over 80% of the people with the absentee ballots would have to have voted for Biden. https://www.theepochtimes.com/dr-paul-kengor-the-pennsylvania-voting-curve-doesnt-line-up_3569060.html
