As Donald Trump was about to accept the Republican nomination … with warnings that “No one will be safe in Biden’s America,” National Public Radio was doing its small part to make sure the president would be re-elected. … in the form of a lengthy interview … with [the] author of “In Defense of Looting.” The book makes the case for looting because it:
“Attacks some of the core beliefs and structures of cis-hetero-patriarchal racial capitalist society”; “rejects the legitimacy of ownership rights and property”; and “reveals all these for what they are: not natural facts, but social constructs benefiting a few at the expense of the many, upheld by ideology, economy and state violence.”
- What else are [voters] seeing? A CNN chyron from a burning Kenosha: “Fiery but mostly peaceful protests after police shooting.”
- A video of an outdoor diner at a Washington, D.C., restaurant being yelled at by Black Lives Matter protesters because she won’t raise a fist in solidarity.
- Republican Senator Rand Paul and his wife getting harassed by a swarm of protesters as they left the White House. …
Trump [was] mocked in 2017 for warning that if statues of Robert E. Lee come down, then George Washington and Thomas Jefferson statues will be next — and then radical demonstrators [did] exactly that three years later.
The question it leaves in the minds of wavering voters is: Can the left be trusted with power?

Right arm, dawg. If Lefty had a lick of common sense, or knew what is happening to them right now, they’d forcefully and unequivocally denounce the BLMing of their cities. They’d clearly condemn the mobocracy, bullies and thugs.
But they won’t do this for the simple reason that they need those mobs to vote
D卐M☭CRAT in November. The Antifa fascists and the BLM social justice warriors are now a core Democrat constituency. Wouldn’t want to alienate them.

Christ dwells in all of us as pure Light mostly obscured by egoic thought and belief that is magnified, energized, by intense emotions. Forgiveness is always the righteous path DogMan but is not constrained or limited in any way by earthly practical common sense and therefore the radical violent destructive force manifesting in the current organized mobs must be emphatically crushed. Forgiveness and one’s earthly duty are not mutually exclusive.

Bored, brainwashed millenials who make up the majority of the rioters, looters, and thugs will get no thrill from filling out a ballot–certainly nothing like the thrill of hurling a rock at a cop or torching the local Wendy’s. If Democrats think these mobs will suddenly put down their weapons and do their civic duty come November, they may well be mistaken. They’re interested in destruction and mayhem because it appeals to something in the psyche of twenty-year-olds; it’s an end in itself, not the means to political change. Even these dumb-asses can look at Joe Biden and know that nothing he stands for is worth the effort to vote.

Kenosha PD reported that most of the BLMing, … the Burning/Looting/Murdering arrests were from outside Kenosha and Wisconsin. It’s time for President Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act and use Federal Troops to protect us, our families and our property. There’s precedent for this.
And one thing is for sure, if our elected leaders won’t protect our communities, our lives, our family’s lives and our property, regular, normal American citizens will.
Those ubiquitous deer rifles in every household will do the job just fine. If they were painted black, they’d be a lot scarier, though. Lefties would call them “assault weapons”. They work the same.

Exactly! He broke existing gun laws and will likely pay a high price for doing that. New or additional “gun control” would not have prevented this, contrary to what another commenter here believes.

Just checked out some of the reviews of this book. Someone actually made an argument that communism is preferable, because after all, we don’t see looting in communist countries like the old USSR.
They must not know that communism strips human beings of their individualism and dignity, that it’s dark and oppressive and allows no room for creativity or expression of the human spirit. Millions of people have immigrated here to ESCAPE communism, and the misinformed want to bring it here.
Holy Christ. Is this what’s being taught in school? I mean, how are people learning this drivel? We, the taxpayers are paying to teach young people to hate this country and everything it stands for.
If after everything that’s transpired this past few months (it’s the culmination of years of indoctrination) there’s still doubt remaining in people’s mind whether the left can be trusted with power, I’m not sure what will change their minds.

That’s how liberals like to argue, by deflecting.
They’ll find a reason to try to show you how you’re wrong, despite reams of evidence to the contrary. They also like to pull out obscure numbers and make them seem significant.
Debating the left is futile at this point. Restore reason in this country by voting in November and in every election.

I know for a fact actual data doesn’t support your argument. Large cities regardless of political affiliation have an increasing homicide rate. Fort Worth up 50%, Miami up 13+%, Tulsa up 21%, all republican led cities.

It may well be that folks still think protests are1st Amendment priorities, but the reality says they foment terror and violence. Viewing the VID clip that accompanied this Chi Trib article TODAY, one can see anger, vitriol and danger in his profane diatribe.
“The headline, which appeared on the Kenosha News website Saturday, highlighted a remark from one rally participant: “Kenosha speaker: ‘If you kill one of us, it’s time for us to kill one of yours.’” The online version of the article included a 59-second video showing the person who spoke those words, a Black man who was not identified by name”
A black news editor @ The Kenosha News resigned in protest —-to the headline, not the spewed racist hatred by the protest speaker.

Translation minus lefty indoctrination: When a black person physically resists arrest, points a weapon, or reaches for a weapon, thereby increasing the odds of being shot by about 1000% it is time for us to kill one of yours.
Perhaps those who resist arrest have never experienced the discipline (not abuse) of a strong positive male role model who set boundaries, explained morality, emulated righteous (or just decent) conduct values and work ethic, stressed education, and used the word “NO.”
So when these individuals encounter strong curtailing commands from police they instinctively rebel and resist and in the present cultural climate there may be a martyr factor involved especially for those without much of a life going at the time.
