Progressive blames Republicans for killing Anise

We blame George W. Bush

The editor emeritus of hyper-partisan Capital Times (“Dane County’s Progressive Voice”) has identified the culprits in on the 08-11-2020 shooting death of 11-year-old Anisa Maria Scott.

No, not the two teenaged boys arrested later in the week. Dave Zweifel lays the little girl’s murder at the feet of Wisconsin’s Republican legislative leaders! For real!

“Scott Fitzgerald and Robin Vos … are quick to condemn violence and blame protesters, but refuse to address the root causes of what has long ailed America,” my old boss thunders in the Sunday newspaper. As if Republicans have been running Madison for the last 50 years.

As a faithful purveyor of the progressive party line; the old editor can’t turn back now. He blames guns for killing little Anisa, not the shooters.

Capital Times book

Root causes? How about Progressivism?

Since the Left has made it about race, we have to go there. White kids are not shooting each other and the scenery in Madison, Milwaukee, or Chicago. So, perhaps, we could quit blaming the cops and “white privilege,” “implicit bias,” and other faddisms and address the cult of victimhood.

Fifty-five years of Great Society giveaways, set-asides, grants, affordable housing, free bus passes, affirmative action, preferential college admissions, midnight basketball, and neighborhood centers — black kids are shooting other black kids in ever-greater numbers.

Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute does the math:

Every year, approximately 6,000 blacks are murdered. This is a number greater than white and Hispanic homicide victims combined, even though blacks are only 13 percent of the national population. … Who is killing them? Not the police, and not white civilians, but other blacks. The astronomical black death-by-homicide rate is a function of the black crime rate. Black males between the ages of 14 and 17 commit homicide at 10 times the rate of white and Hispanic male teens combined.

Intimidation, not persuasion

After eight years of Barack Obama and 50 years of liberal-progressive-socialist rule in Madison WI, looted store keepers (many of them immigrants and minorities) are reduced to begging the City for help — anonymously, because they fear retribution.

In Madison, Mayor Satya (Progressive Dane) and Ald. Tag Evers (Progressive Dane) demanded the immediate release of repeat criminal offender Devonere A. Johnson (alias Yeshua Musa), the “peaceful protestor” with a bullhorn and a baseball bat. (Recounted here.)

Led by Ald. Rebecca Kemble (Progressive Dane) the City refuses to compensate those small businesses for ordering police to stand down.

The Capital Times endorsed all of these Progressives, just as it championed cop-basher Brenda Konkel, leader of Progressive Dane.

This summer, Madison evicted police from its troubled public high schools as The Capital Times has always demanded. Only a few months after Madison West high school student was disarmed after a loaded gun was found in his backpack. After a shoot-out just outside La Follette high school.

Painting streetBlaming police for progressivism’s failures

Which is why progressives have turned on the police. As crazy as it sounds, Progs believe police prowl neighborhoods looking to scoop up hard-working Black fathers playing catch with their sons just to fill their jail quotas. DEFUND THE POLICE!

89% of Madison’s Black students read below grade level. Does the truant kid share some responsibility for illiteracy, poor work habits, and an affinity for violent gangsta rap? Does the father who deserts his family for prison share some responsibility? The mother who does drugs? The politician, community organizer, and newspaper editor who blame implicit racism for “not meeting their needs.”

If you are a victim, you are not responsible for your failure, someone else is. Fitzsimmons and Vos. The NRA. Your great-great grandfather from Norway. The Miss Forward statue.

Make no mistake: Progressives NEED victims as their feedstock, to justify claiming an ever-larger role in private lives. Like Obama said, “You didn’t build that.” Even progressive students attending taxpayer-supported universities now claim to be victims, thanks to progressive professors like Walter Stern.

⇒ Victimhood is now so attractive that everyone wants in, just like Althea Bernstein — victim of “classic Wisconsin frat boys.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line — Problem is, if you are a victim, you cannot be a victor. It’s up to someone else (Joe Biden, perhaps?) to save your bacon. The Capital Times says so.

Who is YOUR favorite victim?

    The Gotch’s favorite victim?

In an obsequiously unctuous, crowded collective heavily larded with squeamishly mind numbing Lefties, Bighampton University would be as good a place as any to start:

Students Demand University Offer ‘Safe’ Rides Home At Night After Defunding Police

Folks, sometimes this stuff just writes itself!

This is not an outlier. The police haters are usually the FIRST to call the police.

It’s what happens when your allegiance to a belief is so strong and you’re so motivated by raw emotion that common sense, pesky facts, and self awareness don’t begin to factor in.

This is the new face of the Democratic party. Remember that when you go to vote.

    Dave,

Dave Zweifel is an editor ’emeritus’.

I think that means he doesn’t have to think anymore, he only has to regularly regurgitate low-flow, lockstep Lefty Luddite lemming-like hate for all things good, Godly and Conservative.
Like lotsa Lefties, he’s more interested in fixing the blame than fixing the problem.

    Here’s a link to Anisa’s prayer:

How about we forget “social” justice and victimhood and apply some regular, plain, old-fashioned justice and law-enforcement. It works every time it’s tried.

Since blame seems to be today’s theme, how about pointing the finger at acting police chief Wahl, who when Yeshua and his pals were blockiing traffic on a major street, did everything but give him a public blowjob for his efforts? When thugs are sent an unequivocal message that their antics will meet with no resistance, how can anyone be surprised that Madison is now enduring the greatest crime wave in its history?

Chief Wahl is a huge disappointment. That police are enabling this behavior (under his command) should be offensive to every law abiding citizen.

The Left has tunnel vision, and no amount of data or facts are going to change their minds. They are determined to blame every societal depravity on Trump, Republicans, and “white privilege.”
They have the backing of universities, corporations, and media, so they feel righteous.

This should serve to motivate every conservative or person on the fence to make it a priority to register new Republican voters, or at the least to vote on November 3.

Our cities and country are at a crossroads. The crazies aren’t going away.

These test scores are atrocious. Anyone complicit in policy decisions that lead to this should not only be hiding their heads in shame, but resigning immediately.

The nerve to blame this on Republicans and white privilege. The nerve. And the stupidity.

Too, too true. 55 years ago, at Cambridge University, James Baldwin & William F. Buckley debated. When his turn came up about 47 minutes in, Buckley brings up the SAME issues we still have now: Black juvenile pregnancies, men not working, no nuclear family, increasing crime and children not attending school. This was when/after all the Great Society social justice bennies were administered. Didn’t change a thing then, and all the Prog efforts in Madtown show the same result -Failure. Folks gotta be responsible for their own behavior, before anything meaningful can/will happen.

I am neither left nor right, neither serves the people imo.

To balance the discussion, 3 strikes and your out is not working and the war on drugs is not working. There is clearly a systemic problem. But the existence of that problem does not absolve perps of responsibility for their behavior. Throwing them into Criminal U – jail – is of questionable value; to society and to them.

An intelligent discussion, which would include an clear examination of all the facts and involve left right and center, is very necessary. Spleen venting, while maybe beneficial for the venter, only gets so far.
