Racial segregation feels so safe
A high school in Madison is asking students to segregate themselves by race when joining online political discussions sponsored by the school.
Madison West High School announced in an email to parents and students that, as “part of our collective work towards being an anti-racist school community,” the school was creating “virtual discussion spaces” for staff and students to talk together about “the pain our community is feeling at this present moment and make concrete plans in moving forward together.”
However, the “anti-racist school” is segregating the discussion by race, as if the high school administration never heard of Brown v Board of Education.
“We will conduct this work in affinity groups to maximize the level of emotional safety and security to do this work properly.”

Students of color?? WTF? Didn’t they see the vote on State Street merchant aid? People of color doesn’t cut it anymore, pal. There are people of the right color, and then there are those people of a different color. They are still considered “people of color” mind you, just not THE color du jour. Sort of Children of a Lesser Color.
Seriously, this is just stupid and completely counterproductive to their stated goal. If students are only “comfortable” saying things in front of their own racial group, how does that lead to greater understanding between the groups?

Shocking I say, just Shocking, This will work well in society, once kids go to college or work place. Will it be ok for people in meetings to say, I am sorry I cannot talk to you because you are not the same skin tone as myself, it makes me uncomfortable. Boo Frickin Hoo!
So does this mean we can now segregate again in places of business as well? Because someone might feel uncomfortable eating or buying or banking in the same room as a person of another color.

In my opinion, schools have shifted from education to Indoctrination and I have said that to the Principal of the High School that my sons attend. Their school newspaper is full of what I consider to be racist information regarding White Privilege as well as different articles on “Whiteness”. They publish information regarding in school and out of school suspensions BY RACE. It clearly shows that the Black student population are the highest in these categories. If suspensions are given solely based upon the actions of the individual, then it is what it is. If they are being singled out and targeted, then it is on the school. Why is it that when they are highest in suspensions in school, not much is said but when the incarceration rate is similar to that of the suspension rate, we are a racist society? I have asked many questions such as this of the school board and it’s President and have never received an answer. If racism is so bad in this country, why does it look like there are sometimes more White people involved than Black people? I believe that if we spoke less of it, and focused more on peoples actions, there would be less perceived racism. When it is continually discussed, even people that did not think there were problems start to suddenly believe there are problems. When you pick a wound, it does not heal. We need to throw away the descriptions of White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, etc., and acknowledge that we are all humans and stop acting like packs of animals.

Lefty administrators in the MMSD, (although sometimes it smells the same, … no, … the school MMSD, not the sewerage MMSD), got nothing on other Democrat racist segregationists, Gov. George Wallace, Lester Maddox or Bull Connor.
Maybe it’s time for President Trump to take a page from President Eisenhower’s playbook and send in the federal troops to enforce school integration.

I grew up in the South during the days of racial segregation and before the civil rights movement kicked off. It was very peaceful, folks got along and black families were intact. ‘Just sayin’.

Why stop there, Lefties? Shouldn’t Black students really have their own schools? Then they can have ’emotional and safety security,’ you can eliminate SROs, stop reporting suspension and truancy statistics, teach them their own preferred version of history, have appropriate statues on the grounds, hire only Black educators to instruct a BLM-compliant lesson plan… I mean, Dr. King’s loony ideals with that whole ‘content of their character’ thing are just a TAD out of date today, amIrite??

Affinity groups, as they are called, are cropping up at work places as well. They idea is that minority folks need places to congregate that are their own. Perhaps, in this case, they wanted separate groups for some reason. They aren’t illegal in work places.
