Three of Madison’s most militant, anti-police groups plan to meet at noon today (06-01-2020) at Madison police headquarters, 211 S. Carroll Street. Those organizations are Bianca Gomez’ Freedom, Inc., which has shut down the Madison school board, Brandi Grayson’s Urban Triage Inc., and the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
‘Our organizations will not denounce any Black person’s display of grief and/or rage. All actions against racist state violence are justified.’
The three groups issued a statement that seems to justify the vandalism, burning and looting that occurred the past two nights on Madison. It reads, in part:
“We … will continue to demand: defund the police, reparations for all Black people, release all incarcerated Black people from jail, get cops out of schools, and community control over the police.
“Five years ago, when we protested for Tony Robinson, these same acts were not considered peaceful. We marched, we chanted, and we stood on the Capitol steps. We chained ourselves to the doors of the jail, in demonstration of our rage, of our hurt, and our pain. We were called thugs and violent antagonizers — leading to the arrest of several Black leaders and demonstrators.
“Now, the anti-black media, elected officials, and some community leaders are using the events of last night to divide our community; to criminalize Black youth while holding us as the example of a “peaceful” protest. This is indicative of the insidious nature of white supremacist patriarchal capitalism. … this is one of the many ways white supremacist patriarchal capitalism is perpetuated by progressive liberal cities like Madison, WI …

I suspect the vast majority of people have no issue with the police. The ones that do, don’t when they need the police. When someone runs into their car, breaks into their residence, attacks them, etc…

There is one, and only one, cure for poverty. That would be wealth. There is NO OTHER REMEDY for poverty. None. You might think that since that is a fact, all the social justice warriors who want nothing more than to eliminate poverty everywhere, would be absolutely obsessed with how wealth is created. Instead, they are completely uncurious. Oh, they’re all over the idea that wealth EXISTS. They’ve got some great ideas about how to redistribute it. They even purport to know who has it all; billionaires. (It used to be “millionaires and billionaires,” but that was before Bernie and Obama joined the ranks of millionaires. Now only billionaires have wealth.)
But where did it come from? Not a clue. Maybe it was just always there, and they just happened to find it! Yeah, sort of like how Balboa “discovered” the Pacific Ocean. or Columbus discovered America.
If you do not understand that capitalism has lifted virtually the entire population of Earth out of the grinding poverty that has been mankind’s default switch for as long as he has existed, then you are excused from this conversation. You have nothing of substance to offer, particularly about how to combat poverty. And what you call poverty today, describes the lifestyle that Kings and Emperors WISHED they could have had 300 years ago.
