Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Bill would let gun permit holders sue if hurt in ‘gun free zone’

I have been advocating this for Wisconsin. Those “No Firearms” signs promise a safe environment that the premises cannot guarantee without airport-level security. Minnesota is considering legislation providing that if person hurt while on a property that forbids lawfully carrying in the establishment – then the property owners/company can get sued.

This just in from Babylon Bee: “Nation’s murderous psychopaths undecided on whether they’ll follow new gun laws.”

The sole purpose of those “No firearms” signs is to signal to the world the anti-gun sentiments of whoever put up the signs (i.e., yet another instance of the left’s tiresome virtue signaling). That’s why every building on the UW campus has one plastered prominently on its doors. Only Madison liberals can picture a heavily-armed deranged would-be mass shooter walking up to Bascom Hall, seeing the No Firearms sign, and turning dejectedly away.

  2. Same with a lot of County courthouses. You know them: they have 50-200 armed cops, sheriffs, deputies, and other (armed) civil servants—but try walking into one with a THREE INCH pocketknife and it’s the Third Degree room for YOU!

      Heh; “a THREE INCH pocketknife” isn’t a knife THAT’S a knife.

      1. Not according to the girly-girls attending courthouse doors.

Frankly, I’ve had enough of the “blue uniform = HERO” stuff. Most cops have never fired their weapons except for (really shitty) practice. Few have ever used their handcuffs. This “civilians are all SUSPECTS and MUST be controlled” is bull-hockey, and is precisely the Deep State’s philosophy at the local level.

I don’t usually comment here, but I really think you guys should give a little thought before you lash out at other people. To call the security personnel at the courthouses ‘girly girls with big shiny badges’ is really vile. You might not remember what happened in the CCB that caused many of these security measures to be implemented, but I do.

The CCB and our courts are are magnets for every person with a beef (real or imagined). I know a lot of people that work in those buildings that are thankful for the screening that takes place.

Fair points; my Dear late Father grew up with and was great friends with Chamberlain.

The Gotch knew him from hanging out at Bud’s West in the early-n-mid 1970s.

I remember being in a client’s house and hearing the 1988 incident unfold on the radio.

Yo, hankdog/old baldy; you know your Lefty pals HATE LEO’s, want to second guess their every move, want them replaced with Community Policing, and continue to do everything they can to make their jobs harder.

Idiotically accusing Conservatives of the same thing is pretty gosh darn stupid.

But it’s painfully clear to anyone with an above-room-temperature I.Q. that you’ve never had much of a relationship with a fact-based Reality.

Interesting timing. Among several tough on crime bills our boy Evers just vetoed was a bill that would have prevented prosecutors from dismissing gun charges when offenders had previous violent crime convictions. (He also vetoed one that would have required violent offenders serve their full sentence.) Which just goes to show that all the Democratic hand wringing about “gun crime” is all just kabuki. Their real concern is achieving a state monopoly on force and sticking it to us drooling hicks who were too stupid to vote for them.

You opened your “mind” and all your brains fell out, pal. I’m perfectly happy to have Law Enforcement, unlike in today’s San Francisco, for example.

But only addlebrains think that “law enforcement” means disarming citizens so that only “law enforcement” has the guns. Kapische?

    3. The obvious failure in the CCB incident is this: NONE OF THE VICTIMS WERE ARMED and prepared to defend themselves and others.

Whose damn-fool decision was that, friend?

There have been four incidents in Milwaukee resulting in the death of cops just in the last 24 months. All of those engendered sympathy and a good deal of deserved mourning. But that happens to be “part of the job” if one is an LEO. There are a lot of special benefits that go with that job to make up for the danger.

But the danger does NOT come from 98% of the citizens–and for those who are problems, quick and sure armed resistance is the solution.

Small wonder you’re in a pitiable snit; your party is a riotous joke, your candidates are pathetic Morons Savant, and your preferred ideology has not only failed everywhere it’s been tried, but failed spectacularly.

But keep up the listless lobbing of laughably lamentable slobberings from safely behind mommy’s apron; it’s all that’s left!
