No policy gimmick is too outlandish — as long as it’s free!
It’s an old adage: be lucky in your enemies. Is anyone luckier than Donald Trump — an insecure, mean-spirited bully — to draw the Hildabeast as his opponent in 2016? Trump’s dumb luck seems likely to hold, given the derangement gripping the opposition, enamored of Jeremy Corbyn-style neo-Marxism.
“Crazy won’t beat Trump”
To defeat an unpopular president, the Democratic Party picked itself up— and placed itself outside the mainstream of American politics.
In almost every national public presentation this year, especially in their presidential debates, they branded themselves not as what they had to be — a sophisticated party with a working-class heart — but what they couldn’t be—extreme left-wing progressives. It was a historic misjudgment.
From their first debates in June, their major candidates announced themselves to be for sharply higher taxes, banning private health insurance, the Green New Deal, free college, complete student loan forgiveness, free health insurance for illegal aliens, and functionally open borders.
They would ban fossil fuels and fracking. At least one candidate said America’s religious institutions should lose their tax-exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage. They are extreme on abortion — no limits, ever — and in their support of identity politics, which sees not a country but a thousand warring tribes endlessly rewarded for being at each other’s throats.

Peggy forgot about Andrew Yang’s $1,000/month free money for everyone! Probably too late for her deadline, Mayor Pete on Thursday endorsed reparations for illegal immigrants — in addition to black folk. And he’s the supposed moderate! All Democrats insist — against all evidence — that the American economy is one long, despondent bread line. More Peggy (and more cowbell!):
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and “The Squad” [are] enthusiastically held up by the Democrats’ friends and operatives in the press as the future of the party. If they are, the future is grim, with their Leninist insistence that you’ll do it their way or be flattened.
Peggy’s Bottom Line: It makes the 2020 race not “Trump vs. the Democrat,” a race he can lose, but “Trump vs. Lefty Madness,” which he can win.

I think that sums up nicely why I will very quietly be voting Trump after voting for Democrats in every presidential election since 1992.
The far-leftist crazies are going to drive voters like me to Trump and send the Democratic Party off the cliff, with the impeachment sham possibly taking the Congress over the cliff too.

It’s the same story for me. The Republicans didn’t win me over, the Democrats drove me away. This past presidential election was the first in which I filled out the bubble next to an (R).
Truthfully, I was going to sit out the last presidential election. Then Hillary started spouting off about going toe-to-toe with the Russians in Syria. Looking at the train wreck she and Obama had left behind in Lybia, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, (BTW- when did the Democrats become the foreign interventionist/bomb the crap out of everything party?) It was clear, to me, Trump was the option that might not leave a trail of destroyed countries in his wake. I was also encouraged by how much every part of the Washington establishment hated his guts.
In retrospect I’m still happy I voted for Trump. Primarily because of what it has revealed about the American left. I used to think it was just the lefties in my West coast bubble that hated America, believed whites were evil, wanted to help themselves to the product of my labor, and were, in general, closeted totalitarians. Nope, it’s pretty much all of them.

So he studied John McCain’s style? Or Hillary’s? Woodrow Wilson’s?
Marquis of Queensbury rules were observed by G W Bush, and look where THAT got the USA (and its citizens.) Bankruptcies all over the manufacturing sector, flagellations from pompous nobodies in the UN and the “Green” bunch, and a losing record in common morals. (Yes, that’s ironic, but it is what it is.)
Perhaps looking at substance of accomplishments will reduce the bitterness felt by such as Sykes, Kristol, et.al. It would make Christmas so much better a holiday for them! I doubt it will work, but they should try. There are no cruises scheduled in the next few weeks, are there?

Donald Trump didn’t win the 2016 presidential election. Hillary Clinton (and by extension, the modern version of techno progressivism) lost.
How could she possibly lose when the entire media industrial complex and the majority of public instatutional power did everything for her? That’s really a remarkable accomplishment. Blame the less fortunate; those pesky proles aren’t voting correctly. Snort!
The self assured are running on the same campaign strategy this cycle. Amazing.
