Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

MANURE STORAGE RULES!

Can a dog hear Eric Ciaramella’s whistle?

One of the more deranged Trump haters practices his drive-by journalism at Esquire magazine under the byline of Charles Pierce. His printed form of scream therapy earns him a recurring seat at Pajama Boy’s All In Democrat(ic) infomercial weeknights on MSNBC.

Pierce’s piece of merde is headlined: The Authoritarian Rot that Produced this President* is present in the Republican Party at All Levels. Need proof? Look at Kentucky and Wisconsin.”

The snarky asterisk, stuck like a Lyme-disease tick to the word “President*,” is Pierce’s way of refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of the man who defeated the Hildabeast. This, he has in common with Hillary, Antifa, Schiff, Comey, the New York Times and other warriors of The Resistance. “Authoritarian Rot” is chockablock with the internal contradictions and non-sequiturs so loved by our … acquaintances.

Ann of Althouse performs the necropsy:

Comment, respond, what do you think… The idea is that [Pierce] doesn’t regard Trump as actually the President [yet] he’s taking the position that Democrats who win an election (without an overwhelming majority) are not considered legitimate by Republicans.

What’s the “authoritarian rot” that’s so obvious in Wisconsin, according to Pierce? It’s just one story about how the state senate voted not to confirm the governor’s choice for the state agriculture secretary, Brad Pfaff. The GOP senators said Pfaff’s manure storage rules would hurt farmers. …

How is [that] “authoritarian,” let alone “authoritarian rot”? The governor’s choice for agriculture secretary required senate confirmation. That’s a check on executive power. Where’s the authoritarian rot Pierce is talking about?

And how presumptuous, the white lab coats here at the Werkes interject, that a duly elected legislature should weigh in on administrative RULES!

Postscript: One of Anne’s commenters offers this: “As they say in Wisconsin, “Manure storage rules!”

Mainstream media finds a whistle blower it doesn’t like

Um, that would be CBS News which, as a favor to its supposed competitors, fired the newly hired staffer who leaked the video of the ABC reporter who complained that her expose of Jeffrey Epstein was spiked three years ago. (More at PJ Media)

One of the biggest takeaways from the recent New York Times/Siena College  survey of battleground states is that Elizabeth Warren is not connecting with the very people her policies are supposed to help.

Thus, it follows that:Democrats are insulting and condescending to the swing-state voters they need the most.”

Blaska’s Bottom Line: If you doubt the Trump Resistance is deranged, even Jerry Springer blames Trump for America’s lack of civility. Jerry Springer!

What do YOU think?
(you fly-over dullards)

From Britannica: Authoritarianism, principle of blind submission to authority, as opposed to individual freedom of thought and action.

For example, ruining the lives of people who express wrong thoughts.

Let’s hope that Trump Derangement Syndrome keeps growing at the same exponential rate right up until election day 2020. By that time, the resisters will have demonstrated conclusively (especially to independent voters) that their rabid ideology is far more dangerous to the country than anything Trump or his minions could conjure.

Is it not authoritarian rot when the leader of the State Senate dismisses the concerns or 80% of the states citizens. The State Senate’s dismissal of Pfaaf after getting the approval of numerous republican legislative committees and panels while maybe not illustrative of rot is definitely illustrative of a vindictive immaturity. It was done solely because of Pfaff’s public chastisement of republicans refusal to release already appropriated monies. Hell, Russ Feingold received the wrath of many democrats for stating the president had the right to chose the Dept. Secretaries he wanted and voting as such.

      @geo_;

      That caught my eye, too.

At the very least, couldn’t those EVIL Righties have followed established precedent and gutlessly fled to a Rockford water park for an excellent adventure?

Yea! But that would have required the evil righties to actually stand for something.

Standing for something means shirking legislative responsibility to virtue signal support for their largest donor?

          Good to know!

      @Eric Z;

      “Merrick Garland ring a bell?”

Sure does; and thanks for the opening! At the time, and in a typical display of the unerring bipartisanship for which he is well known, The Gotch maintained that Garland should have been given hearings. If nothing more, that would have staved off Lefty’s laughably embarrassing efforts to prevent an eminently qualified SCOTUS Justice from being seated, and the congressional Lefties that led the charge being summarily drummed out in the 2018 midterms.

‘Course, we had the ancillary benefit of @AnonyBob making an utter fool of himself.

      “Careful where you step.”

      Kind words! And backatcha!

At the Federal level, a simple Senate majority determines whether a President’s SCOTUS nominee gets confirmed or not.

The 114th Congressional Senate: 54 Republicans, 44 Lefties, & 2 Independents. To paraphrase the self-anointed ‘4th Greatest President EVAH!!!!, I’d hazard a guess this is because elections have consequences.

Showing the ubiquitous hyper-partisanship of the career Lefty, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) has come down on both sides of the unwritten “Thurmond Rule

“Senator Leahy rejected the rule in the closing months of the Democratic Clinton administration, but later invoked the rule in the last months of the Republican Bush administration”

Kinda like he was against it before he was for it, am I right?

      It gets worse.

IL junior Senator and Lefty demi-god Barack Obama “(i)n January 2006 joined 24 colleagues in a futile effort led by Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., to filibuster the Supreme Court nomination of now-Justice Samuel Alito.”

      And worse yet.

“In the last year of George W. Bush’s second term Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) suggested that PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEES THAT ARE NOT CONFIRMED BY JUNE of that year would not be confirmed at all.” (bolds mine)

June?? Wasn’t that, like, you know, LAST (2018) month?

Think Lefties are going to try to pull the ol’ Bay State Side Step? There they changed the Senate Special Election rules not just once, not just twice, but three times; the first two to benefit murderer Teddy of the inbred Kennedy Clan of the democrat Party.
