One of the more deranged Trump haters practices his drive-by journalism at Esquire magazine under the byline of Charles Pierce. His printed form of scream therapy earns him a recurring seat at Pajama Boy’s All In Democrat(ic) infomercial weeknights on MSNBC.
Pierce’s piece of merde is headlined: “The Authoritarian Rot that Produced this President* is present in the Republican Party at All Levels. Need proof? Look at Kentucky and Wisconsin.”
The snarky asterisk, stuck like a Lyme-disease tick to the word “President*,” is Pierce’s way of refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of the man who defeated the Hildabeast. This, he has in common with Hillary, Antifa, Schiff, Comey, the New York Times and other warriors of The Resistance. “Authoritarian Rot” is chockablock with the internal contradictions and non-sequiturs so loved by our … acquaintances.
Ann of Althouse performs the necropsy:

How is [that] “authoritarian,” let alone “authoritarian rot”? The governor’s choice for agriculture secretary required senate confirmation. That’s a check on executive power. Where’s the authoritarian rot Pierce is talking about?
And how presumptuous, the white lab coats here at the Werkes interject, that a duly elected legislature should weigh in on administrative RULES!

Let’s hope that Trump Derangement Syndrome keeps growing at the same exponential rate right up until election day 2020. By that time, the resisters will have demonstrated conclusively (especially to independent voters) that their rabid ideology is far more dangerous to the country than anything Trump or his minions could conjure.

Is it not authoritarian rot when the leader of the State Senate dismisses the concerns or 80% of the states citizens. The State Senate’s dismissal of Pfaaf after getting the approval of numerous republican legislative committees and panels while maybe not illustrative of rot is definitely illustrative of a vindictive immaturity. It was done solely because of Pfaff’s public chastisement of republicans refusal to release already appropriated monies. Hell, Russ Feingold received the wrath of many democrats for stating the president had the right to chose the Dept. Secretaries he wanted and voting as such.

At the time, and in a typical display of the unerring bipartisanship for which he is well known, The Gotch maintained that Garland should have been given hearings. If nothing more, that would have staved off Lefty’s laughably embarrassing efforts to prevent an eminently qualified SCOTUS Justice from being seated, and the congressional Lefties that led the charge being summarily drummed out in the 2018 midterms.

At the Federal level, a simple Senate majority determines whether a President’s SCOTUS nominee gets confirmed or not.
The 114th Congressional Senate: 54 Republicans, 44 Lefties, & 2 Independents. To paraphrase the self-anointed ‘4th Greatest President EVAH!!!!, I’d hazard a guess this is because elections have consequences.
