News media suppressed free speech in John Doe probe

“A classic case of an imbalance of power”

“In Wisconsin, the prosecutors had the [news] media in their pocket”

The news media likes to portray itself as defenders of the little guy. But when it comes to citizen activists participating in our democracy the institutional news media sided with prosecutors because, one suspects, those citizen activists were conservative Republicans.

That is how it came to pass that a John Doe secret probe into the Scott Walker election campaign “somehow leaks to the press complete with innuendo of possible crimes,” the editorial page editor of the Wall Street Journal told a Milwaukee audience. “But the targets of the probe were barred from defending themselves in public.”

CommissarThat Wall Street Journal editor, Paul Gigot, spoke last weekend before the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty. (He hails from the Green Bay area and is a cousin of former stater rep Therese Berceau.) Gigot condemned Wisconsin’s mainstream news media — especially the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — for falling hook, line and you-know-what for the Deep State’s line that one group of citizens cannot work with another group of citizens on issues and candidates of mutual interest. We excerpt from the fine account at RightWisconsin:

“The real corruption in this case was not ‘dark money,’ it was dark power. By this I mean the awesome prosecutorial power of the state employing warrants, employing a gag order, to smother the free speech of political opponents.”

“As so often happens with these groups, the Government Accountability Board had been captured by partisans and zealots who wanted to enforce their particular view of campaign finance law,” Gigot said. “And in the process, they were more than willing to trample the First Amendment rights of their political opponents.”

Especially disappointing in all of this was the role of the press,” Gigot said. …  You’d think the press, of all institutions, would zealously guard the institution of free speech. [Yet] the press, echoing prosecutors, wanted to believe the prosecution invention about ‘coordination.’

“We need need an ideologically diverse press, an independent and fair press that makes an attempt to get the other side of the story. Especially when state power is involved and especially when fundamental rights like free speech are involved.”

What do YOU think?

Maybe the MSN should institute a Conservative Affirmative Action plan, where they actively try to recruit and retain political conservatives for the purpose of balance. This is the one area where just having some diverse OPINIONS in the same room might actually do some good, unlike the ludicrous notion that having people of different skin color merely sit next to each other is beneficial to both.

Ah, the old “I know you are but what am I” retort – good one Blaska.

Despite the damage he’s done to the country, I’m thankful for Trump in a lot of ways. He’s exposed Republicans completely. Fiscal conservatism? Morality? Small government? That’s all you guys had and you gave it all up to support one reality show dingus! How many more years do you think you can get elected by running on brown-people-are-ruining-the-country rage?

Different mask, same progressive perpetual attacking the messenger mantra with psychological projections of absolute falsehoods without actually addressing any points written in the blog. Yes it’s all there, we’ve seen it before right here in Blaska’s blog threads haven’t we and now we have another hive clone here to continue the regular infusion of ignorant progressive trolling. Is there a class you stupid people attend to learn how to troll or does this kind of idiotic non-logical rhetoric come naturally to stupid people?

I digress but now I’m back on track.

“Despite the damage [Trump’s] done to the country”

Trump isn’t the one that inflicting damage upon the United States, the hoards of stupid extremists in the political left are attacking the building blocks of our nation, they are attacking what’s made the United States great. They are identified as progressives, social justice warriors, ANTIFA, plus a huge cross-section of anti-American and anti-Constitution Liberals. The political left has become a black hole that’s sucking critical thinking and intelligence from their Borg like hive mind. The political left has been dumbed down to the equivalent of subservient follow the crowd sheep over the cliff. The political left is the very evil they profess to be against and their too damned stupid to recognize it but yet they constantly psychologically project their own ideological evils upon those they oppose.

Read my blog, Society’s Building Blocks and pay close attention to the two blogs titled BREAKING NEWS: Hoards of Anti-Social “Stupid” People Stomp Civility Into Submission! and Apathy Fertilizes A Breeding Ground For Stupidity but you should pay particular attention to this blog post Social Justice Warriors: Signs of Operant Conditioning.

“I’m thankful for Trump in a lot of ways. He’s exposed Republicans completely.”

          FALSE!

Donald Trump didn’t create the left’s hate, he didn’t create the left’s irrational aversion to truth and facts, he didn’t create the left’s anti-American and anti-Constitution ideology his intentional trolling of the political left has inspired the political left to self-reveal themselves in signature significant ways! Signature significance posits that a single act can be so remarkable that it has predictive and analytical value, and should not be dismissed as statistically insignificant. The political left has revealed so many signature significant things since 2016 that they have openly shown the people of the United States that their ideological core is anti-American and anti-Constitution and that’s not going to sell at the polls.

“How many more years do you think you can get elected by running on brown-people-are-ruining-the-country rage?”

This is another core of progressive trolling rhetoric, outright lies! There isn’t a shred of truth in your claim. In fact; the constant false race baiting lies from the political left since 2008 is one of the major sources of intentional division in the United States of America, it’s perpetrated by the political left, it’s immoral and it’s dangerous but since the political left is all about “the ends justifies the means” they don’t give a damn what happens as long as they are the ones left in power. The political lefts’ tactics since 2008 has shown genuine moral bankruptcy and since 2016 they have gone completely off the tracks of morality and are openly engaging in a morally bankrupt, politically destructive and anti-American psychological warfare and they are using a willing “enemy of the people” Pravda like media to disperse their propaganda. What will the hoards of stupid people do if Trump wins the election in 2020, which at this point looks quite likely. The political left has backed themselves into a corner where it’s all or nothing now and if they don’t get their way at the polls the immature fit that is sure to follow could very well spill over into an actual civil war!

          DeepStateJanitor,
You might want to do some self reflection because what you write appears to pigeon-hole you as being one of those stupid people I’ve talked about many times on my blog.

Now that is funny. And oh so hypocritical. Do you pay any attention to current events? 45 is well over 10000 false statements in his 2+ years in office, and has made some really dim-witted statements ( British airports in the 1770’s ) that cannot be justified by any rational being.

        4. “Now that is funny. And oh so hypocritical. Do you pay any attention to current events? 45 is well over 10000 false statements in his 2+ years in office…”

          1. Your comment is nothing but an unethical rationalization.

          2. If you really want to get in a game of comparison let’s do it right.

For argument sake let’s say that President Trump has made over 10,000 false statements since he took office. (BTW: differences of opinion are NOT a false statements.)

Let’s have some fun with statistics and compare a some numbers.

Facts I found On The Internet:
Daily newspapers in the USA = roughly 1,330
TV Stations in the USA = roughly 8,900
Active Adult Facebook Members In USA= roughly 176,000,000
Active Adult Twitter Members In USA = roughly 68,000,000

          That’s enough sources…

Total of those individual sources 244,010,230
For fun let’s consider that exactly half of them are Democrats and the other half are Republicans; so half of that number of sources is 122,005,115.

President Trump was inaugurated on January 20, 2017, the 20th day of the year. So two full years in office as of January 20, 2019. From the 20th of January until today October 1, 2019 it’s been 254 days, therefore President Trump has been in office for 984 days. Let’s use your 10,000 number; if you calculate the number of false statements you talked about (10,000) that averages out to roughly 10.16 false statements per day.

Now lets calculate the number of false statements about President Trump from roughly 122,005,115 sources for the same 984 days. Lets say that only half of those sources (61,002,558) made or parroted false statements, false innuendo, or fake news about President Trump and they did it only once a week, that’s 140 weeks times 61,002,558 sources that’s 85,40,358,120 false statement over the same 984 days period of time, that averages out to 8,679,226 false statements about Trump per day.

Comparing President Trump’s false statement average per day of 10.16 to the average of the aggregate of false statement’s about President Trump per day of 8,679,226 was fun statistical exercise, don’t you agree.

Personally I think the number of false statements, false innuendo, or fake news about President Trump far, FAR exceeds the number I calculated above. Video media outlets repeat many of these things over and over again, by multiple people and they do it 24 hours a day, news papers print many of these things in their newspapers over and over again, social media is a wash with these kind of things over and over again. Truth be told; it appears that the political left really thinks that President Trump is the Devil incarnate and that evil must be destroyed using any and all immoral, unethical, and illegal tactics at their disposal. In the left’s anti-Trump play book, the ends justifies the means.

When you really get down to it, if you really want to compare false statements, false innuendo, or fake news then you must do it across the board and you will see that Presidents Trump’s “false” statements are but a minuscule single drop of water in a vast torrent of false propaganda coming from the political left. The political left truly doesn’t give a damn about truth and facts, in fact since President Trump was inaugurated the political left truly has an irrational aversion to truth and facts.

“[President Trump] has made some really dim-witted statements ( British airports in the 1770’s ) that cannot be justified by any rational being.”

I’m not justifying gaffes or misinformation coming from Trump, in fact I wish he would just shut up and do his damn job. I also understand that it’s damn hard to shut up when the political left is attacking him from absolutely every direction imaginable.

Loyalty to principles and morals (especially morals) is not the problem of the political right, you’re psychologically projecting the problems of the left upon the right.

Now there are glaringly obvious exceptions to these “rules” on both sides but it’s completely clear that the majority of the political left has permanently flushed their ethics and morals down the drain since 2016.

“I just wanted to see 1) how quickly Steve & Cornelius rose to the bait and 2) how big of hissy fits they threw. The answers: 1) very quickly, 2) substantial (congrats to madisonexpat for his self-control)

Twist a pig’s ear & watch him squeal. Y’all love to dish it out, but you sure struggle to be on the receiving end.”

Talk about swallowing the bait hook line and sinker, you “sir” take the cake. Do you have any clue what trolling is or are you oblivious to that fact too?

Troll: Those that post inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

I was absolutely correct to “assume that intelligence exists in your brain, and attribute planned malice instead of outright stupidity to your comments” and “it appears that you’re… a troll trying to incite others”. Funny how it worked out that you went out of your way to literally prove what I wrote and self-out yourself but yet you’re so self-centered that seem to think that you’re one up on everyone. Trolling like that is NOT something to be proud of it’s signature significant revealing flaws in personal character.

“commenting on someone’s brave choice of FB profile pic”

That statement looks like a self-confirmed troll (see above) is using a but I meant no harm unethical rationalization to try to back pedal out of the mud.

“Steve, are you *threatening* your detractors now?”

So you think “real world choices have real world consequences” is a threat? Awww, that’s precious, now you’re writing like an immature snowflake. Grow up. You can read that statement, like all other statements, any way your little heart desires but know this, I don’t threaten.

“If you want to return to a more civil discourse you can explain to me why:
      1) pussygrabbing, lying, other various forms of moral bankruptcy
      2) runaway deficit spending
      3) protectionism
      4) executive overreach
      5) government bailouts

are all now AOK in your books.”

Just like every other progressives that I’ve ever conversed with over the last decade, you assume way too much and you do it specifically to smear. None of that is “AOK” in my book and I challenge you to come up with anything I’ve ever written that you think justifies the innuendo.

A real intelligent person could do better. Try again.

“you all seemed to have conveniently ignored those points from my earlier posts”

Try not using your arguments as deflections or rationalizations and I think it’s fair to say that your relies will be different.

Now DeepStateJanitor, you have a choice to make; do you let the conversation end here or do you troll some more?

If you’re gonna use your (what I assume must not be too precious) time to keep ranting, I’m going to keep pressing. I figure I’m getting a good 1:20 ratio on time it takes me write a post & the time it takes you to respond. Judging by your facebook posts, I figure I can get another 12-16 hours of your time. The more you waste your time here the less chance you have of inflicting any damage in the real world. I also like reading the different ways in which you say the exact same things. Basically variations on “you so stupid”. It’s a wonder to behold.

You say you don’t support those things I listed, yet you will support a president’s who words, actions, and policies encapsulate them all. I think you may be trolling yourself my dude.

By the way, ALL of the current candidates are ridiculously unethical partisan hacks, that’s why I will vote for policy and not person in 2020. Something dramatically would have to change

Cornelius Gotchberg, living proof that the internet was man’s greatest mistake – making a whole generation of retired idiots feel smart because they found other idiots online to confirm their self-proclaimed brilliance.

    Anyway….

“I will vote for policy and not person in 2020″…lol, that’s rich. Own it man, y’all gave him your blessing, you’ve shown your cards. Don’t get out the fainting couch now and pretend like you’re holding your nose when you cast your vote. You knew he was a criminal & a buffoon going into this. And if you’re voting policy then you ARE in favor of:

    2) runaway deficit spending
    3) protectionism
    4) executive overreach
    5) government bailouts
(anti-conservative Trump positions 6 – 999 deterred for the sake of brevity)

It’s just the 1) pussygrabbing, where you draw the line, huh? Well, it’s a start I guess.

    1. Another pile of ignorant trolling assumptions.

FYI; Gotch is not retired, I’m not retired, most of the people on here that I’ve met are not retired, I didn’t vote for Clinton or Trump. I will vote policy regardless of the BS you’re spewing, the list you made might have underlying policy that drives them but for the most part those things alone are not policy with the exception of bailouts which I’m absolutely dead set against.

“And if you’re voting policy then you ARE in favor of”

What part of I’m not in favor of those things did you not comprehend the first time I rejected you list?

I give credit where credit is due. There is one part of your comment that I agree with; the internet has created a whole generation of blithering idiots but it’s not what you’ve identified; the idiots are the dumbed down Generation Z, a huge portion of dumbed down Generation X, all progressives (yes 100% of them), huge cross-section of Liberals, and absolutely every 21st century social justice warriors in the United States. Also; Facebook and Twitter have been one of the worst things for our society falling shortly behind the dumbing down of America in our public school systems, the consequences of those two social media platforms will be felt across the globe for generations to come.

There I found something common between, us so using the “logic” you’re appear to be using to analyze things then you are clearly a MAGA Trump supporter and I should automatically assume that you wear one of these hats everywhere you go…

When was the last time the hoard of ignorant social justice warriors descended on you and ran you out of a restaurant?
