Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

The Ukrainian candidate

We’re being lectured by 16-year-olds at the U.N.

The latest contretemps over Trump’s telephone call to the president of Ukraine will change few minds. At this writing, the President has released a transcript of the call;

Comment, respond, what do you thinkCNN “Transcript shows Trump pushed Ukraine to investigate Biden.”

Fox News plays it this way: “Ukraine call transcript shows Trump sought Biden probe, asked about DNC server – but made no mention of US aid.” In other words, there was no quid pro quo.

New York Times: “Trump Asks Ukraine’s Leader to ‘Do Us a Favor’ and also Urges Inquiry of Biden”

The Wall Street Journal reports: “Mr. Trump, before asking Ukraine to examine actions by Mr. Biden’s son, reminded [Ukraine President] Zelensky that the U.S. sends security aid to Ukraine. “I will say that we do a lot for Ukraine,” he said. “We spend a lot of effort and a lot of time.” He contrasted the U.S. aid with what European countries do to help Ukraine.

Remember that Joe Biden as vice president demanded a Ukraine prosecutor be fired; that prosecutor was investigating a company with ties to Mr. Biden ’s son, Hunter.

Will Biden be hurt more than Trump?

“Recent surveys show the former veep’s leads have vanished in Iowa and New Hampshire, while his South Carolina firewall shows signs of cracking,” Politico reports.

Politico sees trouble ahead: “Some party officials in early nominating states think a D.C. [impeachment] spectacle will play right into Trump’s re-election strategy.

The Babylon Bee: “Democrats Introduce Resolution to Impeach Trump with Reasons to be Filled in Later.”

Around Mad town

• The Monroe neighborhood is escalating its feud with Edgewood high school. From today’s (09-25-19) Madison police report.

Noise Complaint – 6:53 a.m.  Officers responded to the 2200 block of Edgewood College Drive for a noise complaint at Edgewood High School involving approximately 100 students at a planned event.  Staff advised that notices were sent out to all the houses surrounding the field notifying them of the event. No charges/citations were issued.

At least it wasn’t students brawling.

Rashida Tlaib was just jealous Our Ms. Vicki wasn’t winking at HER. So says Facebook poster Bill Thomas. Watch Vicki’s full testimony.

About those Jesus lunches, a letter writer to today’s Capital Times wonders “What would community reaction be if there were Moses Lunches [and] Muhammad lunches?” Probably respect and tolerance. “What agenda follows the so-called innocent scripture?” at Jesus lunches, Phil Saunders of Madison asks. “Right-wing bigotry, one suspects.”

One wonders where Saunders learned his left-wing bigotry.

What do YOU think?

I figured the three stooges would find this inspiring. I am feeling magnanimous today.
