A little patriotism on Independence Day

It is too much to ask?

Also known as Love of Country

From the Wall Street Journal:

Nike is entitled to cancel its products for any reason. But the rest of us are entitled to point out that no flag of the United States is a symbol of oppression and racism, and that Mr. Kaepernick’s suggestion that it is one — with Nike’s tacit agreement — is political theater based on false history. We’re also old enough to recall when feminists considered Betsy Ross a hero, not a symbol of repression. But that’s another sign of our current political insanity.

It’s also worth remembering that harebrained controversies like this give many Americans the not unreasonable sense that their country is being maligned by pampered social-justice warriors.

July 4, 2019, marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of my father, Jerome L. Blaska. He was proud to be born on the 4th of July, as were two of his sisters: Evelyn and Juanita (Dolly). He served his country in WW2, served eight years in the Wisconsin legislature, helped feed America on his farm, and contributed to the baby boom. He passed away on May 2, 2000.

So, Kaepernick offends the Wall St. Journal and you. OK. Reasonable people can agree or disagree on Nike’s actions.
Meanwhile, Trump takes a sacred American holiday and turns it into a self-aggrandizing campaign rally on the National Mall with special seating for RNC donor$ (!) while politicizing our military. How about hearing a peep about that? Even Ike said the US having military parades like the Soviet Union did would make us look weak.
Meanwhile, as the son of a WWII vet, I join you in honoring our fathers.

Those who are too stupid to learn from history, are just too stupid PERIOD

Has your End Stage TDS so polluted your feeble mind that it forgets that FDR, IKE, & JFK had tanks at their inaugurals, a holiday far less RED-WHITE-n-BLUE than the 4th?

Heck, JFK even had nuclear missiles (Pershing I IRBM, Lacrosse, Nike Hercules, and Nike Zeus) on parade.

Should we take down all the FDR & JFK memorials ala Thomas Jefferson to assuage all you Lefty snowFLAKES?

      Or…just…you know, like, Trump?

Typical gootch; nothing but insults and attempts to demean people. Why the big soapbox talk today? The blimp man can’t find money to buy immigrant kids toothpaste , but can put this out there for all to laugh at. How much will it cost? No one will tell us. Waste of money and a lightning rod for RWNJ’s.

Juuuuuust like the Phony-To-The-Core Alexandria OCRAZYo-Cortez, who voted AGAINST the Humanitarian Aid Package, am I right?

Interesting back-story about why Miami passed Kaepernick over in August of 2017 (and this is where it gets good!) in favor of the inimitable Cryin’ Jay Cutler.

C’mon; the Fish prefer to haul Cryin’ Jay, noted PRICK extraordinaire and future inductee to the Green Bay Packer HOF, (based on a nearly perfect record against them as a Bi-Polar bear) off the scrap heap?

      Oy! That’s gotta sting!

With personal experience to back it up, Armando Salguero really nailed his keester to the floorboards, and as a typical career Lefty, Kaepernick wasn’t/isn’t verbally or intellectually dexterous enough to duck-n-parry.

Great picture of your family! Also loving and agreeing with the Wall Street Journal commentary.

We’re indeed incredibly blessed to live in a nation where companies are free to use marketing ploys to generate sales, and where the rest of us can call them out as the trash we think they are, then proceed to shop elsewhere.

I urge every American to find their inner strength and use their hard-fought right to speak. Because I believe the Journal author is correct: our country is “being maligned by pampered social-justice warriors” and if they’re the only ones speaking out, it will become the new normal.

I’m also old enough to remember when women’s rights meant something totally different. For me, feminism was about building ourselves up and becoming strong women, without having to tear down men and traditional institutions.

That pink hats and dressing up like reproductive organs have replaced “I am woman, hear me roar” saddens me.

The former (Equity Feminism) and the latter (Gender Feminism) are both (IMO) marvelously explained in Who Stole Feminism? How Women Have Betrayed Women by Gender Feminist Anti-Christ Christina Hoff-Sommers.

Despite the laughably Imbecilic Histrionics (“Capital police, Park police, DC police and FBI have all been put on alert. Families are boycotting the celebration due to fear. This will not end well.”) courtesy of the lunatic fringe blog idiot, things went swimmingly.

True to Lefty Le Resistance form, the Lefty nets/cables refused to cover it.

And why would they? They have stories of FAR greater import to air, like NBC’s ~ 7 minutes on “Competitive Eating” this a.m.

      It gets worse.

The appropriately named Charles Blow tweets: “Let this sink in: There are tanks in the nation’s capital and concentration camps at its border. The drift to [sic] toward the unimaginable is unmistakable.”

A mere sampling of the hilarious b****sl**p**g that ensued:

*“This is a lunatic take. This manages to insult Holocaust survivors and the US military all in one internet post.”
*“You should leave while you still can Charles.”“I guess you missed JFK’s inauguration.” *“Let this sink in.” “The tanks are stationary & unarmed for a July 4th parade.”
*“Our “concentration camps” detain ILLEGAL migrants,& ALLOW THEM TO LEAVE OR APPLY FOR ASYLUM without the murder, slavery, one normally associates with them.@nytimes employs liars/demagogues.”
*“Someday there will be a new Republican president, who you will also breathlessly try to convince us all is Literally Hitler. Pace yourself.”
*“2020 is going to hurt you all so so bad.”
*“Your constant “EVERYTHING IS LITERALLY HITLER” is going to get him re-elected because people are tired of being constantly told they’re evil incarnate just for not being Democrats.”
*“Did you complain this hysterically when Eisenhower, Nixon, Clinton, Reagan, and Bush did it? It’s not the end of the world. Climb back in off the ledge.”

Lefty flopping helplessly like a fish on a dock is almost too much to bear.

People on this thread either ignore or spike my efforts to present the facts. Heather Timmons write in her editorial that the Proud Boys, Identity Evrope, r/the-Donald are gathering in DC as we speak. They were told to disguise bats and sticks as flagpoles and are asking the police in their concealed carry permits are legal during a federal celebration. Some social media outlets have “quarantined” them for “inciting violence.” Capital police, Park police, DC police and FBI have all been put on alert. Families are boycotting the celebration due to fear. All this because of BABY BLIMP needs his ego rubbed. Cost to taxpayers in the 10’s of millions. They can never find any money for roads, healthcare, education, etc.,but there is always a pot of gold for this crap. This will not end well. These are the facts. Enjoy your 4th.

So what there were a few tanks there big whoop. All the haters will continue to hate and all the supporters continue to support.
