Blaska Policy Werkes

David Blaska, going out of his way to provoke progressives in Madison WI to make America safe for democracy!

Same old: Police, not student behavior, to blame

Blaska Policy Werkes has its werkes cut out for it.

We are upside down, backwards and inside out here in the Emerald City, Madison WI.

As predicted, Ms. Ali Muldrow and Ms. Ananda Mirilli voted against policing our troubled high schools in a 4-3 vote Monday night, without citizen comment because the Board of Education fears the disruptive powers of the Freedom Inc.-led social justice warriors.

As quoted by Madison’s excellent newspaper of record, the talented Ms. Muldrow had this to say:

Muldrow & MirilliIt’s developmentally inappropriate to expose children to incarceration. Police are the only people within our schools who can expose children to incarceration.

“I think arresting kids results in tremendous long-term harm to them.”

She said she’s not against the concept of police in schools, but rather the disproportionate rates at which black students are arrested and cited.

“If we can have the police in schools and eliminate disproportionately in arrests and not subject children to incarceration, then I think there is a role for the police within our schools,” Muldrow said.

Deconstructing the B.S.

Let’s “parse” that verbiage, as the teaching assistants like to say at UW-Madison.

Professeur Blaska would say that it is “developmentally inappropriate” to expose children to the notion that “We don’t have to listen to the police. You can’t touch us.” That’s the infamous refrain from the 15 to 20 middle schoolers who busted up Lakeview library in March. (Read & Weep)

Doubt these kids learned that fallacy at school but neither did the schools unlearn them. Let’s “parse” school board member Ali’s “thinking:”

Ali Muldrow: “Police are the only people within our schools who can expose children to incarceration.”

Blaska: No, each of us are the only ones who can expose ourselves to incarceration by our actions. Shoot up the bus leaving school, attack the teacher, brawl in the cafeteria, bust up the library, rape that girl in the lavatory. Those are some of the ways you can expose yourself to incarceration.

Police didn’t do any of that.

Muldrow: “Arresting kids results in tremendous long-term harm to them.”

Blaska: Committing crime results in tremendous long-term harm. So does being “truant in school.” So does dissing your teacher. So does ignoring your homework. So does lurching through life a functional illiterate.

Muldrow is not against the concept of police in schools, but rather the disproportionate rates at which black students are arrested and cited.

Muldrow IS against the concept of police in schools. It is Blaska that abhors the disproportionate rates at which black students are arrested and cited. But if you’ve got a case against the police of racial discrimination, bring it! The ACLU and National Lawyers Guild are waiting.  Or, maybe, we need to stop telling children of color that they are victims of history and, instead, writers of their own narrative.

  • We have to quit with the excuse-making.
  • Stop grievance peddling.
  • Stop enabling self-destructive behavior.
  • And start demanding personal responsibility.

Quit picking on boys

As Stanford University fellow Thomas Sowell said:

“Is it impossible that black males misbehave in school more often than Asian females? Or Jewish students? Or others?”

There’s a disproportionality in the discipline of boys: 59% of the suspensions even though the male species accounts for only 49% of the total enrollment. Why the War on Men?

Muldrow: “If we can have the police in schools and eliminate disproportionately in arrests and not subject children to incarceration, then I think there is a role for the police within our schools.”

Blaska: Ali, my friend, you are telling the most vulnerable kids that you blame the police for enforcing the law. You are telling those kids that they do not have to listen to the police. That the police can’t touch them lest the police be accused of racism most foul.

Are we that upside down?

Blaska’s Almost Bottom Line: Ali, mon cher ami, Our schools can teach but only the students can learn.

Not just in Madison, Sun Prairie, or Verona:

Headline: “Classrooms in Crisis: Verbal, physical, sometimes violent outbursts plaguing [State of] Oregon classrooms.”

The situation has gotten so dire that the Oregon Education Association – the union that represents 44,000 teachers across the state – plans to release a report this week calling classroom disruptions a “significant and growing problem in Oregon classrooms.”

Doesn’t help that the State of Oregon passed legislation in 2011 that says a teacher can only physically restrain a student when there is a threat of imminent serious bodily injury to someone. “We don’t have to listen and you can’t touch us.”

Aw shucks!

Miss VickiThanks so much to Ms. Vicki McKenna and Judge Jim Troupis for the love Monday.

“Truth-teller. … He stood up for the teachers. … [The teachers union, WI State Journal, Sheriff Mahoney] had a chance to make a difference and said nothing.”

The rest of the country is post Obama and grateful. Not Madison.
Mad Town will be to effective teaching what San Francisco, Portland and Seattle are to clean streets and public health.
For the same reasons. By the same thinking. Er sorry…feelings.

        Since you ask…
I don’t think the majority of the country IS glad Obama’s gone, despite Trump’s and Fox’s delusional fixation with him. That Trump can’t get much above 40% approval, even with the recovered economy Obama left him, is fact, not opinion. Obama’s approval average during his presidency was much higher, despite the GOP recession he was saddled with, than Trump’s has been (Gallup). And Trump polls much lower outside our borders, where he continually embarrasses us. The latest poll shows a half dozen of the leading Democratic candidates besting Trump in head-to-head matchups, with Biden leading the pack and beating him by 13%. If the rest of the country was so glad Obama is gone, it would work against his Vice President, don’t you think?

I asked you to prove that “a clear majority would take Obama’s Vice President over Trump by a large margin”, you really haven’t done that.

It appears that all you have is your opinions and you seem to feel that your opinions are far superior to others when all you use is progressive talking points. What makes your opinion superior to others.

Here’s my opinion; if Biden get’s the nomination (I don’t think he will) he will loose the election by double digits because the extremely strong undertow of social justice “wokeness” in the left will not allow them to vote for an old white guy that’s awash with white privilege. The irrational political left has shown it’s hand, if Biden is nominated the left will have the worst election turn out in recent history, they will be so disgusted that they didn’t get a woman (more specifically a black woman) as the Presidential nominee that they won’t go to the polls.

This argument will is pointless; Biden won’t get the nomination.

The poll I cited was the most recent Quinnipiac nationwide poll of voters. What Splat, Dorn and Kevs refuse to see is the high degree of unpopularity Trump suffers from, outside of his 40% base. He is disapproved of by 53% vs. 42% of voters. Pretty high for so much “winning.” The Dems could nominate Dave Blaska and he’d have a better shot than he did for school board.
I don’t disagree with all of your opinion on Biden. Another old white male will not enthuse some parts of the base. The Dems will always be fractious; as they say, Dems have to fall in love while Republicans fall in line. But disgust with Trump will bind together the Democrats more than they were in the last election. And, we’ll also have to see how heavy Putin’s thumb is on the scale (which is why Trump has done nothing to secure our system from the Russian interference, as detailed by Mueller).

Anyone citing polls of the day and trying to applying the results of those polls to the 2020 election is engaging in irrational soothsayer political propaganda and yes that applies to Trump too. The public needs to see this kind of propaganda for what it is, baloney.

“What Splat, Dorn and Kevs refuse to see is the high degree of unpopularity Trump suffers from, outside of his 40% base. He is disapproved of by 53% vs. 42% of voters.”

That’s the same useless kind of talking points they were citing just before Trump was elected. You just don’t get it, political polls are nothing but irrational soothsayer political propaganda!

Personally I’m going to cast my vote for President in 2020 based 100% on public policy and completely ignore the personality of the candidates; why, because in my opinion all of the candidates I see are complete failures as ethical human beings and I might as well have an ethical failure in the office that shares the same public policy goals that I support. My top four issues in order are maintaining a properly trained and modernized military force, effectively stopping and prevent illegal immigration at our southern border, immediately deport all illegal immigrants that are not actively trying to become United States citizens regardless of their age, and increase manufacturing in the USA which will stabilize and slow grow the economy.

“The Dems could nominate Dave Blaska and he’d have a better shot than he did for school board.”

With all due respect, what the H.E. Double Hockey Sticks are you talking about? Dave Blaska would have a better shot at becoming the President of the United States running under a Democratic Party ticket against President Trump than he did running for Madison school board? You really don’t realize the complete absurdity of your statement? If the rest of the Democratic party thinks like this they’ll be in for a “…UGE” surprise in November 2020.

“The Dems will always be fractious; as they say, Dems have to fall in love while Republicans fall in line.”

Glad someone else mentioned the absurdity of your ” fall in love… fall in line” statement. The political left has been nearly 100% fall inline since 2008, if you’re not seeing it then your intentionally ignoring it.

“I don’t disagree with all of your opinion on Biden. Another old white male will not enthuse some parts of the base… But disgust with Trump will bind together the Democrats more than they were in the last election.”

Irrational emotion is the drivers seat with moral hypocrisy close in tow for the political left these days and if they don’t get their act together the driver will drive them straight off a cliff.

“And, we’ll also have to see how heavy Putin’s thumb is on the scale (which is why Trump has done nothing to secure our system from the Russian interference, as detailed by Mueller).”

Continuing to pound the Russian drums is now fully recognized by the public as the political witch hunt lunacy that it was from the beginning. The political left screwed-the-pooch on that one and now they have to live with the consequences.

I disagree. Although behavior problems can certainly be small part of the mix that adds up to a racial achievement gap but it’s certainly not the defining problem.

Sub-cultural influences are usually the defining problem. These influences directly impacts language, social perceptions, attitudes, peer pressure, and most of all when we talk about an achievement gap, the value of an education. Students that don’t see a value to an education, regardless of their reasons, are likely doomed to fail the basic requirements of any education system. The parents of these students and the sub-culture they live within have failed these students.

What you will note missing from the Muldrow/Freedom Inc. narrative are the normal students that the ferals are inflicted upon. Why should their interests be subordinated to the small number of out of control and violent students? When did it become schools’ responsibility to remedy defective parenting?

I think the answer is written in the worldview of people like Muldrow. They believe every institution in our country is a function of an evil, racist, homophobic, and misogynist society. Their goal is the destruction of those institutions, at least in their present form. What better way to tear it all down than to open the gates and let the barbarians run wild. Essentially they are weaponizing the feral children to drive out all the “bad” people so they will be left in charge.

    Why is that?

Today Trump admitted that if a foreign govt. approached him with help for his election, he wouldn’t notify the FBI. As required by law. As required by plain old decency and common sense. As required by just being a loyal American.
      Why is that?

And if its as lame as the Steele Dossier for which Hillary paid a cool $6M to a foreigner he’d get a good laugh and realize how gullible and stupid the collective IQ of the swamp really was.

You don’t see the difference between the Dems legally hiring a vendor (originally hired by conservatives) to assemble opposition research – a vendor who gave his findings to the FBI because he was so alarmed by them – and a hostile foreign government approaching and illegally offering Trump’s campaign dirt on his opponent? And the campaign willingly trying to take it and then lying about it? And Trump publicly encouraging it (“Russia if you’re listening…”)? And now saying he’d do it again? And that he still wouldn’t notify the FBI, thereby making a compromised Trump a threat to our nation security?
Apparently your ethics are on par with Trump’s. Even the Republicans are balking at this one.

David, ok we get it you care about the this topic. MMSD is done and over it is the Titanic, which by the way sunk. They are officially a lost cause. The problem is their idiotic policies are trickling down to neighboring districts. My daughters graduation cannot come soon enough to get out Dane county for good.
Why not maybe focus a little attention on the Republicans building a budget that breaks the bank. so much for fiscal responsibility and continuing to bend the curve on spending. This monstrosity will do wonders for our state, kind of like the fiscal hell Tommy Thompson, Scott McCallum and good ole Jim Doyle wrought upon the state. Did they learn nothing, good times always end and I am sorry the economy will collapse next summer just before 2020 elections. Good Job guys

ugh we back to the backslapping spending sprees that had to be dealt with swiftly in 2011.

ABob, no I would not trust the FBI. It didn’t get that corrupt over night. 16 vehicles full of armored troops ready to break down doors of political opponents and terrorize their family for an aged man who got released by noon on a signature bond. Some Fidelity. No thanks.
And given the Putin effect on voting, how did his paid for candidate Hillary win the popular vote?
Why did Obama, Brennan and Comey allow it?

I think you’re trying to make some points here, but you’re just getting Infowars bizarre. Shedding a tear for Roger Stone? Hillary paid for by Putin? Obama, Brennan and Comey allowing Putin to corrupt the election when it was Mitch and Ryan who stopped them from making it public?

Hillary cost Putin $149M paid by Putin to the Clinton Foundation. Bill got a cool half million for a speech in St Petersburg. Russia got Uranium One. Obama approved this corruption.
So much for your love of the Constitution when you approve of lawfare that comes from the barrels of 16 carloads of Muellar’s men. One guy with a warrant ringing the door bell would’ve sufficed or did you think Stone’s blind wife would Bleachbit a computer? Hammer 13 subpoena’d Blackberrys? Erase 30,000 emails?
Perhaps Mr. Muellar had another reason for such hideous over kill than putting a citizen under arrest for five hours.
The difference here, Captain Constitution, is that I would protest as loudly if they did it to you.
